Another week without public appearances by Lara, so most of the attention went to the various ‘new’ releases. ‘Odacity’ noted that as of several days ago, ‘Selection’ was number 5 on iTunes Turkey; ‘Les Stars font leur cinema’ (with Lara’s version of ‘Unchained Melody’) entered the French charts at number 6; and the Tom York remixes are being played on various radio outlets in France (e.g., ‘Radio People’. IDFM Radio Enghien; Canal One Web radio). Tom York himself has put several of the remixes on ‘Soundcloud’ , the ‘club remix’ at:
soundcloud.com/tom-york-official/lara-fabian-make-me-yours-tonight-tom-york-club-mix-feat-mustafa-ceceli-1
and the ‘Swedish remix’ at:
soundcloud.com/tom-york-official/make-me-yours-tonight-tom-york-swedish-mix-feat-mustafa-ceceli
Tom York noted that the Dj's have put the remixes that he realized for Lara Fabian in their selection of the week, visible at:

In a way, these remixes comes at a perfect time, for the fan sites, especially the Francophile ones, are showing a certain amount of fatigue with Lara’s current public activities in other countries. There are only so many times one can get excited hearing her redo her old songs on the videos, regardless of their quality (and those by Irina Popova have been very high quality indeed (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCfnmPfnXK31idvPBG87WTsg/videos)). Since none of the performances are in France or Belgium, that is their only access to her. And for the fan sites, there are only so many different things one can say about Lara’s performances, which are pretty much the same everywhere. The remixes, at least, ‘spice things up’ with their active beats.
In a somewhat related development, the Lara Fabian Turkey site had the following statement:
-------------------------------------------------------------
Lara Fabian Türkiye
To the administrators of Lara Fabian Fan Pages on Facebook: we have great news for you ! We have just received a message from Odacity's management, indicating that they will provide us with free copies of the "Best of" albums (Odacity Records release in Turkey) to be sent to the Fan page administrators (same rule as last time with the release of "Make Me Yours Tonight", 1 album per page, for pages with min. 1000 "likes" ). Odacity will repeat the action for each album that will be released under their label.
---------------------------------------------------------------
[NB: This page has never received any ‘free copies’, either of ‘Make Me Yours Tonight’ or the ‘Best of’ (’Selection’) album, nor is it apparent that they would know where to send them…The Lara Fabian Turkey site indicated that for administrative reasons, there has been a delay in distribution of the physical CDs].
As for the more general distribution, refer to the notice in last week’s Update, of Lara Fabian Turkey expressing their hope of allowing people to import the CD from Turkey with the help of Amazon. There's been no further information in that regard.
There are few reviews of these releases, not a great surprise at least for the ‘best of’ album. For ‘Les Stars font leur cinema’, a critique of the various songs was made on ‘Scoop Media’ (http://www.scoopmedias.com/critique-on-a-ecoute-pour-vous-les-stars-font-leur-cinema/); here is their report on Lara’s:

7. Unchained Melody - By Lara Fabian
Hard not to be influenced by the basic version. The voice of Lara Fabian is unable to get us the original ... It's beautiful, it's true, but it's no surprise ...
--------------------------------------------------------
This is pretty much in-line with the opinion given here.
In times like these, the fan sites generally turn to past videos. The LaraFabianweb site, to celebrate their 10 years of existence, has thrown open their ‘multimedia’ selections, available at:
www.facebook.com/353946178085395/photos/a.353954938084519.1073741828.353946178085395/680149098798433/?type=1&theater
It’s a wonderful collection, with many older videos, audios and photos (although a number of the old video links would not open for me, due to the “lack of the needed plug-in”).
In honor of Mother’s Day, several sites have noted Lara’s wonderful composition ‘Mama moya’, e.g., vimeo.com/108444064. One of the enduring mysteries is how little use Lara has made of this song, one of her best.
Lara has added ‘Un regard neuf’ to her list of albums available on youtube, at:
www.youtube.com/user/larafabianoff/videos
This brings to 10 the number of albums available for listening there.

As expected, Lara has said nothing about her upcoming concert on Friday in Minsk, Belarus. One suggestion as to why she generally avoids the subject of these performances with Krutoi is that she gets criticized by the western press for appearing in some of these ‘non-democratic’ countries. That may be part of the thinking, and it receives a bit of added validation by noting that one Krutoi concert she did acknowledge on her official FB site (on Feb. 1) was her performance at the Barclay Center in New York.
Nevertheless, Minsk is where she will be later this week; maybe she’ll even get a chance to talk with Krutoi about the long-rumored ‘second Mademoiselle Zhivago’ album. To support it, however, she presumably would have to tour in Russia, which might be problematic at the moment (though others are doing it). We’ll see if any videos become available.
