Lara was back in full swing this past week, with five concerts, and the release of the video for her second single from ‘Le Secret’, “Danse”. The video itself has been widely dispersed, and is available, for example, at:

An article about it appeared in ‘ChartsinFrance’; the translation appears below.

Dance ": the new clip from Lara Fabian exclusively on Pure Charts
After having made a noticed return this winter with the title "Deux ils, deux elles", the first single from her new album "Le Secret”, Lara Fabian suggests that we listen to the song "Danse" which you can discover today exclusively on the Pure Charts.
Back in France this year after a Russian exile of several years, Lara Fabian released on April 15 her highly anticipated tenth album, written in large part with Janey Clewer, longtime collaborator. "’The Secret’ is the story of our tandem" confided the artist about it, remembering her first pieces, while 14 of the 17 tracks recorded for the new album were composed by the American. Kind of intimate rock opera, the album "Le Secret" is out of place in the discography of Lara Fabian. It was directly installed as number one in sales on its release and to this day has counted more than 50,000 fans in France (certified gold).
Initially defended on radio and television by the title "Deux ils, deux elles" fully anchored in the news as the debate over marriage for all animated the streets of the country, the album "Le Secret " is now presented by the title "Danse", on which the artist displays an impressive vocal range. It will be difficult for her to pretend to go into radio - too singular for programmers - the new single could still get a place on the music channels with her clip, whose carefully prepared images focus on the female body. Lara Fabian, in a white silk dress, shares the screen with a star dancer in full exercise routine. The video is the work of Carole Mathieu Castelli, to whom we owe the clips "Juste pour me souvenir" of Nolwenn Leroy, "C'était déjà toi" of Laurent Voulzy, videos of Celine Dion, and "Jeter des fleurs" for the project "Thérèse, Vivre d'amour".
The launch of the new video single "Danse" by Lara Fabian comes just days before the release of a new collector's edition of the album "Le Secret" on October 28. To the two discs already known will be grafted many extras including a DVD with 1:30 of unpublished images. One can perhaps hope to find Lara Fabian in the studio during the recording of her latest songs, or even the two clips "Deux ils, deux elles" and "Danse", as well as concert footage filmed during the presentation of the album ‘Le Secret’ at the Paris Theatre on April 15. This new version anyway will adopt new packaging, in DVD format, with a photo in which the singer appears with her eyes masked by her hands, while the first version of the album "Le Secret" was represented by a black sign on white background.
After making a guest appearance on the jury of the show "The Best" on TF1, Lara Fabian gave last month the kick off a new tour that will occupy several months and will exceed the borders to fly to Canada. The singer of "Tout" has created a show from its new titles, that she will present on the stage of Silo in Marseille on November 7 before putting on a show at the Theatre du Chatelet, Paris , 16 and November 1. Alternating with average size rooms to be closer to her audience, Lara Fabian will also perform in several Zeniths next year, including Rouen March 10, 2014, in Saint -Etienne on May 16 at Amiens June 6 and Clermont- Ferrand on the 14th. The ticket office is open, but many dates are already sold out.
---------------------------------------------------------------
The video has gotten somewhat mixed reviews from the fans. On the positive side, it is classy, elegantly staged, beautifully shot, a thoroughly professional enterprise. And of course it is always lovely to see Lara in any video. On the negative side, there is no story, too much time is spent gazing at Lara posing – but not dancing. They’ve also dropped the lead-in to the song, with Lara acting as a teacher, which could have framed the video – it is included on the single release. The song itself is about dancing away from the harsh side of life toward the light, and none of that shows up. As to Lara not dancing, clearly ballet is not her milieu, but we know Lara is a good dancer; she was after all chosen to be the dancer in ‘De-Lovely’, and with a bit of creativity she could have worked something in. She still seems reticent to show her legs, which gives her appearance a 'cut-off' feeling. The video for ‘Deux ils, deux elles’ did not need a story – the visuals were the story. That may well have been what Lara had in mind for this one.
The single for ‘Danse’ has been heard occasionally by fans on a few radio stations; the article suggested it is not really ‘radio-friendly’ (meaning ‘simplistic’, IMHO), and of course the same has been said for the whole album, which has dropped back down to 203rd place in France, and has fallen all the way off to 78th in Belgium. It’s early, but so far the concert tour has not provided much of an obvious boost as far as sales are concerned (understandable if most of the audience are ‘Lara’s angels’, who have already purchased it). Perhaps the video might excite some more interest, if it gets played…
BTW, the Lara Fabian Romanian FB site had a very interesting discovery concerning Alexia, who dances in Lara's live shows, and Katrin who is the dancer in the music video of "Danse". The site noted that this is not the first time they danced to Lara’s music. They found two such instances on YouTube from 2011- "Wind beneath my wings" with both Alexia and Katrin
www.youtube.com/watch?v=NLtYtXDUezc
and Katrin dancing solo to "Adagio".
www.youtube.com/watch?v=vQa4yBAID18
Wonderful catch on the part of that site!
As to the concerts, Lara performed in Marche-en-Famenne, Belgium, on the 3rd; gave two shows in Lille, France on the 4th and one on the 5th; then was in Colfontaine, Belgium on the 6th.
The first show got very good reviews, from fans and the press. Here is a (translated) article concerning it, from
www.lavenir.net/article/detail.aspx?articleid=dmf20131005_00370414

Lara Fabian truly delighted the large audience come to applaud at the Wex.
MARCHE-EN- FAMENNE - Thursday, Lara Fabian was in concert at WEX in Marche -en-Famenne. A thousand fans were present to make it a real triumph.
On the occasion of her tour called ‘Le Secret’, Lara Fabian stopped in Marche on Thursday. There nearly a thousand people joined the Wex to applaud this writer, composer and performer born in French-speaking Belgium in Etterbeek in 1970, but has held Belgian- Canadian dual nationality since the age of 26.
Even before the show starts, we could easily realize that a significant number of fans made the trip, for the first name Lara was shouted from the top of the steps and it is a veritable torrent of applause that flooded the room when Lara appeared dressed all in black to start her tour of songs. For nearly two hours, we were able to not only attend a hearing but also visual spectacle, for to accompany the interpreter of ‘Danse’, ‘La vie est là’ and many other songs, you could count on a dancer and musicians of great talent.
The "Angels" Lara
Throughout the show, viewers have actually participated in it by clapping their hands in time with the musicians or rushing to the front of the stage when Lara has played an Irish tune or after she walked through the public who she calls "My Angels" to invite them to calmly rejoin their places. Her Angels also do not hesitate to accompany her on some of her songs .
The singer who has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest in Dublin in 1988 and defended it brilliantly with the colors of Luxembourg, finishing in fourth place, ended her recital to applause by interpreting "L’enfant de Gwenved” and “I am A-Wa”.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
The two shows in Lille on the 4th had a somewhat different response. Lara’s shows were at 4:30 PM and then at 8:00 PM. For the first show, she cut four songs from her expected repertoire, and a number of fans (and the review below) felt she lacked energy. Some fans said she was sick. The second show got a much better response (with only two songs cut). Here’s a (translated) review of the first show; to provide other points of view, included are three (translated) comments that the review provoked, disagreeing with it, although only the first was commenting entirely on the first show.

Concert: Lara Fabian fails "to blow the Sevastopol" this Saturday at Lille
Published on 06/10/2013
By QUENTIN LAWRENCE
The concert begins with a ballet. The screens of mobile phones are lit to welcome the diva. "Lara ! Lara !".
Lara Fabian had carefully prepared the staging of the show.
The theater is filled with an audience rather fifties than teenagers, all to the cause of the Belgian singer. The screams of the first notes of the title ‘Le Secret’ can attest to it. A real drama unfolds. Lara Fabian arrives draped in a black veil which she gets rid of quickly as an old skin to make room for a white suit, symbol of new life in which she talks about her latest album. On stage, a dancer accompanies her, occupying the space. So as to break the static presence of Lara Fabian, who concentrated on controlling her voice, right hand clutching the microphone, left hand that goes occasionally to the public.
‘Danse’, ‘Amourexique’, ‘Un ange est tombé’. The titles are linked in the order of the album. Predictable. The public is almost asleep, experiencing difficulty following the singer in her totally introspective songs. Then comes ‘Humana' where, rampaging, spectators fill up the aisle . "We're going to blow the Sevastopol!" Lara Fabian yells into her microphone. "Sing louder, march again!" replies the public to her. Roaming about the stage, Lara Fabian knows how to talk to them. Sometimes this lacks spontaneity. But how to escape it when the recipe for success is known?

indeed Mr. QUENTIN LAWRENCE we were not really at the same concert how dare you write such things ? I'm not a teenager or fifties and yet I was in the audience, I assure you I am not sleeping away as the concert was masterful. LARA was not static and even less frozen in micro, she sang divinely and yes because LARA she sings at least she does not pretend and does not deserve to be despised by no means by a person who is mistaken altogether.

Hello, I was at the concert 20h. And I must say that what you dare write is unfair and unfounded. Have you seen Lara Fabian because according to your description of the concert, we were not in the same place. This was by far the best concert of Lara . The atmosphere was impressive from the first note issued by her crystalline voice. The audience was unbridled, sitting upright and still standing with its hands in the air, the endless screams, it was just magical. So let me tell you that Lara does not merit an article like this one dear Sir Quentin Lawrence! I thank you to present your apology on behalf of all the fans and the artist you badly soiled! Lara we love you and your show was great!
Marie- Clotilde R. on 06/10/2013 at 09h36
Let me respond to your article. I was at the concert from 16:30 and the 20H and I did not find that the public is asleep!! We did not have to see the same concert!
-------------------------------------------
Even a number of Lara’s good fans felt that she should seriously consider not having two shows on the same day, if it means conserving her voice. It may be financially necessitated by Lara’s strict schedule of taking time off for her family after every week or so of concerts - and how can one truly argue against that? - but as fans noted, the audience paid the same amount of money as those attending one-a-day performances.
How much her health affected the earlier show on the 4th is not clear, but by the next day there seemed to be no problem. Here is a (translated) review of the one on the fifth, from

Lara Fabian concert: In all emotion and humanity!

Lara Fabian
Lara Fabian is currently touring to promote her latest album, ‘Le Secret’. A series of concerts that went through Lille for two dates. We were there on October 5.
Lara Fabian provided her new album, ‘Le Secret’ in April. An album, certified gold in France, from which was extracted two singles ‘Deux ils, deux elles’ and ‘Danse’. The singer started her new tour in September and goes through the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris on 16 and 17 November 2013. A series of concerts that will allow her to travel to Belgium, Switzerland, Canada and New York.
4 and 5 October, Lara Fabian gave three concerts at Theatre Sebastopol Lille. We were present at the evening show on October 5. The performer did almost all of her latest album and did not forget some old songs . In fact, she retakes on stage five songs from her other albums: 'Immortelle', 'Humana', 'Je t’aime', 'J’y crois encore' and 'I Will Love Again'.
Lara Fabian arrives, back to the audience, covered in a long black cape on which you can see the symbol found on the cover of the album ‘Le Secret’. This is the title she decided to unveil first on stage. She takes off, then, this outfit to reveal a radiant white attire.
She then connects the pieces and offers a few surprises, including the presence of a dancer on a few tracks like ‘Danse’ and ‘Putain de grand amour’. Lara Fabian does not hesitate to do some steps in her company. She also provided us with some emotional moments like ‘Amourexique’ which comes into its own in front of a mirror.
But a concert of Lara Fabian is also energy and sharing with her audience. On the titles ‘Humana’ and ‘I Will Love Again’, the singer lets loose in front of her fans and the atmosphere becomes more and more crazy. She also comes among the crowd during the performance of her single ‘Deux ils, deux elles’. An exchange which shows once more that the story between Lara and her angels is not about to stop. And if one were to define this relationship in a single word, it would be HUMANA ...
----------------------------------------------------
Note that Lara does dance on stage during the show…
The concert in Colfontaine also got excellent reviews from fans, and that has been the norm, excluding perhaps the very first shows in Namur.
Lara has now expanded her Canadian tour to include another show in Quebec Province, in Hull Canada on January 18. It is located near Gatineau, directly across the Ottawa River from Ottawa. And also – for the first time as far as I can tell – she will also be performing in Toronto, on the 13th. So, considering her upcoming performance in New York, this will make two stops at English speaking venues!
In other news, Lara with be featured in a duet with Laura Pausini on Laura’s upcoming album, a promo for which can be seen at:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=9D5o7B7Ynts&feature=youtu.be
No – it is not ‘La Solitudine’, whose video from a live TV show filmed in Rome is one of the most treasured of Lara’s video performances. Instead, it is the song ‘Io Canto/Je chante’ as can be seen by the picture of the album’s contents (Lara is on the second CD, third song):
www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10201943165810434&set=gm.645188505525265&type=1&theater
“The Best of – Laura Pausini” will be released on November 12th.
As was mentioned in a previous update, Lara is participating in a campaign to have hairdressers help promote the fight against AIDS. L'Oréal Professionnel France released a promotional video for the campaign "coiffeurs Contre Le Sida" (Hairdressers against AIDS). According to the accompanying (translated) info: “Hairdressers against AIDS is an educational program of prevention against HIV / AIDS. This year, to embody and support the program Hairdressers against AIDS at the World Day against AIDS, Lara Fabian and her hairdresser David Lucas will be the spokesmen of this vast awareness campaign in over 5000 salons. Ask for your awareness kit:
www.coiffeurscontrelesida.fr "
The video can be seen at:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=G5CxjsnZNy0
It features scenes of Lara having makeup applied by Brigitte Delouis, her hair being straightened by hairdresser David Lucas, and being photographed by Olivier Ciappa.
Lara is now off again for another 10 days, with shows resuming on the 17th. The next set of shows, through the 20th, will all be in France.
