Lara’s tour continued with her concert in Charleroi (9/18) and several shows in Brussels (9/20,21) this past week. One novel aspect was Lara’s changing the set list. In addition to including different songs from ‘Le Secret’, e.g., ‘L'enfant du Gwenved’ – video available at:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=8_x1YwGC1TI
Lara surprised the entire audience with one of the few renditions of ‘I Will Love Again’ that she has done in the last decade (as Paula first noted in response to the last update), available at:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=4l67PU96uuQ
From her look at the beginning, she knew she was surprising them; she even called it out on her FB page, with the comment: “Merci Bruxelles merci pour ces concerts.... I Will ....again....” With the extremely enthusiastic reception at the end, it looked like the fans were also surprising her, an encouraging development for those who’d like to see her do it more often. BTW, as one can see from these videos, the quality has increased, and there have even been some better videos uploaded from the show in Namur.
Included with Lara’s comment was one of her ‘nature’ picture she placed on her Instagram site:
And speaking of pictures, nineteen truly wonderful professional photos of the Brussels concert are available at:

While she is no longer wearing the peacock covering, the dancer does drape her in it, e.g., www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10201993380467063&set=a.10201993331985851.1073741835.1562134985&type=1&theater
Additional numerous photos are available at:

and from Charleroi:

Changing her setlist is not something Lara normally does during tours, and perhaps this new flexibility is in line with her increasing flexibility about many other things. It also suggests she might be trying out English songs in preparation for the Carnegie Hall concert, which by my latest estimate, is about 1/3 sold.
The Belgian concerts have been very well attended. The more recent shows have also gotten very good reviews from fans; for example, (translated) from the administrator of the ‘Lara Fabian est ton autre’ FB site:
--------------------------------------------
Concert of Lara magnificent... Lara took us to her secret, she delivered to us sometimes her joys, sometimes her pains, her being in HERSELF. The songs from the album were performed beautifully .. innovative arrangements, intense ... A "Humana" very funny I could say and a "J’y crois encore" very touching, very intimate ... Lara was in grand form and one can feel very fulfilled there.
In short, a MAGICAL tour, which refocuses us and we advise you to go see it as soon as possible, it is 1:40 of pure happiness …
Geoffrey
---------------------------------------------
It was pointed out on the MZ FB site that before the tour began some people were trying to sell their tickets, now the prevailing attitude is people trying to buy them.
As discussed last week, Lara has a contest where concert goes can win a ‘meeting with Lara’ by being the first to answer questions concerning the new album on Lara’s Twitter account. Here is the (translated) account of the winner for Charleroi (thanks to the LF Romanian FB site):
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
"This year, Lara Fabian gave us an album on which I completely cracked. Basically, I had come to see her in Brussels. But I liked the album so much that I bought a second place for her concert, in Charleroi therefore, in my city. And the least one can say is that it has brought me luck because I won the contest on Twitter and I was able to meet her.
The show is very beautiful. I urge you to go see it "for real" because from any point of view, staging, sets, voice, orchestration, costumes, choreography, it is worth it! We never saw Lara Fabian like that. This is surprising and interesting. Lara never repeats herself on stage, she reinvents herself and the least we can say is that it's successful!
I will not take long to tell you about that meeting ... We were about twenty people. Lara took the time to chat with us all ... I had the opportunity to exchange a few words with her and tell her how much I appreciate her music and vocal qualities. Very nice meeting. Lara knows how to put people at ease, she is very kind, very sweet and very cheerful. It is Gabriel who was kind enough to take a picture of us and I thank him for it ...
Good day to all. And all who have the opportunity to have this beautiful meeting, enjoy! "
----------------------------------------------
Interestingly, this suggests that there may be more than one ‘winner’ per show…
In other tour news, Lara will be appearing in Quebec at the Le Theatre Capitole on January 15th. Tickets go on sale today, 9/24 at www.billetech.com/checkout/event.php?eventId=LF40115S&&language=fr-ca
Though she is also supposed to appear in Ottawa and Montreal, this is the only Canadian date listed so far; one imagines the others will be in close proximity, as her next French concert is not until a week later, and she also has no concert scheduled for the two weeks prior.
Some fans have commented on her FB site concerning Lara’s upcoming concerts in Russia about her taking a stand re the official treatment of gays in that country. Perhaps re-igniting the debate was the announcement that Selena Gomez was forced to cancel her tour there due to the prospect that she would address their official treatment of gays and gay marriage (http://www.voici.fr/news-people/actu-people/selena-gomez-doit-annuler-sa-tournee-en-russie-a-cause-de-son-soutien-au-mariage-gay-505045#xtor=EPR-205). Her visa was denied, and according to the article, Madonna and Lady Gaga were warned not to perform there as well because of their support for that cause. Lara is in a very tough position – her links with Russia and Igor Krutoi suggest that she won’t be prevented from coming, but one supposes there are no guarantees. Perhaps she will have to promise not to raise the issue…it won’t be easy because Lara can no longer take refuge in her usual statement that she is not political, as she did enter into the political fray in France this past spring. While she can avoid explicit statements, if she does not at least sing ‘Deux ils, deux elles’ that would likely raise the hackles of some of her most ardent fans, as can already be seen by their various comments. Just last night, a few members of the audience at the NY Metropolitan Opera called out for Anna Netrebko and Valery Gergiev, two vocal supporters of Vladmir Putin, to “end their silence” because it was “killing gays”. This is an austere venue, and if it can happen there, it can happen anywhere (including Carnegie Hall).
In news concerning the album, today ‘Le Secret’ was officially released in Quebec, with a bonus version of ‘Deux ils, deux elles’ remixed by Mistress Barbara. It can be ordered at:
www.archambault.ca/fabianlara-secretle-2dc-ACH003391816-fr-pr
It is also available digitally on iTunes in Canada (https://itunes.apple.com/ca/album/le-secret/id705413331?l=fr). Note that one can only order from iTunes if one has a credit card registered in that country. That’s even true for the U.S. visa vi Canada.
And Lara is not stopping there. Beginning October 28th, a collector’s edition of ‘Le Secret’ including the two CDs and also a DVD will become available. It can be pre-ordered at FNAC:
musique.fnac.com/a6457554/Lara-Fabian-Le-secret-Edition-collector-CD-DVD-CD-album
or at amazon.fr at:

It will have a new cover (not the one shown on those sites), a new book, and the DVD, with 90 minutes of unpublished images – clips from the past, studio pictures, pictures of concerts in Belgium, among other possible things. Here is a (translated) article from ‘chartsinFrance’ (http://www.chartsinfrance.net/Lara-Fabian/news-88161.html):
------------------------------------------------------------
Lara Fabian: the reissue of the album "The Secret" 28 October
Returning in April with the album "The Secret", Lara Fabian now proposes a first reissue next month, at the launch of a major tour that will occupy her for nearly nine months. In the meantime, the video for her new single "Danse" should be unveiled.
While she announces that the title "Danse " is the second single from her new album " Le Secret ", Lara Fabian is ready to hit the road for a long tour that will stop at the Chatelet Theater 16 and 17 November. Concerts are scheduled throughout France, from October 4, the singer of "Tout" will perform at Theatre Sebastopol Lille until June 2014 after two final concerts at the Zenith in Clermont- Ferrand 14 and Gare du Midi in Biarritz the day after. In the meantime, Lara Fabian will unveil the video for her new single "Danse , the first pictures were posted on her Facebook page . This video could also appear on the reissue of the album " Le Secret ", whose release on October 28 is confirmed by several sites selling online such as Fnac.com and Amazon.fr . Released as a double album full of 17 tracks, the (reissue) album "Le Secret" will feature several bonuses and a DVD, which could also find the video of the first single "Deux ils, deux elles " unveiled earlier this year.
The tracklisting for this reissue remains secret, but its publication leaves nothing to chance. In addition to coinciding with the launch of a new single and a tour, this new version will be timely, a few weeks after the finale of the show "The Best , le meilleure artist" , in which Lara Fabian participated as a juror . A role that many artists are planning to endorse for various television shows like "The Voice" and "Dancing with the Stars" to receive maximum exposure and attract attention to their last albums. Certified gold and passed 50,000 copies, "Le Secret" made its entry into pole position in the Top Albums in April, testimony to the faithfulness of the public despite a long absence of four years.
Also on the front of the stage after a 25 year career, Lara Fabian will be welcomed. “To last , I think this is the most complex" she confided in Pure Charts in our last interview , explaining that it was necessary to know how to renew oneself constantly so as to surprise her audience . With "Le Secret" , a sort of rock opera which opens the doors of her privacy, the challenge is raised.
--------------------------------------------------------------
Even without this reissue, sales of ‘Le Secret’ are on the rise. It jumped 42 places to 162nd in France (where it has now sold 50,200 copies) and increased 14 places to 21st in Belgium, undoubtedly helped by the beginning of the tour there. This bodes well for Lara, with the tour just beginning. And as noted above, the video of ‘Danse’ will be released tomorrow, and is scheduled to be shown on channels M6 and W9; presumably Lara will also put it on her youtube channel. Perhaps that will also encourage radio stations to play it, which hasn’t really happened so far.
Lara’s boutique has now opened, with key ring, pen, teashirt, mug, etc. available at:
www.larafabianshop.com/
Included for sale is the official program for the show, at:
www.larafabianshop.com/programme-officiel.htm
Purchases are actually made through ‘Fan Avenue’.
Lara was in ‘Tele revue’ this past week, with some pictures of her husband included:

Lara posted a video inviting fans to attend a benefit auction for children at ‘The Little Dreams Foundation Gala Dinner’, on November 8th in Brussels. Items, like Lara’s gold record for her new album, will be made available, and many artists will attend, although she herself will be away in concert in Béziers that night. Lara has participated in two of their concerts in the past. It was created by Orianne and Phil Collins with a mission to “help young talents, disabled or not, fulfill their dreams in the artistic or sportive fields”. The video, with Phil’s ‘True Colors’ in the background, can be seen at:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=woiaCNsVM6g
Lara has no concerts this coming week, continuing with her plan to have several weeks off every few weeks to spend time with her family. She has done some TV interviews, both for French and Canadian TV, that will be showing up in the next month. One can say things are off to a good start!
