Lara had two more public appearances this past week. In one, she returned for another of Eva Longoria’s ‘Global Gala Gift’, this event taking place in Mirabella, Italy. The stated goal is “to promote education among Hispanic women and entrepreneurship for a better future for the Latino community”. Numerous pictures exist from this event, including several Lara posted on her Instagram site, e.g., with Shemar Moore
also, with Eva Longoria,

Lara sang ‘Je t’aime’ at the event; a small portion of it was filmed, and is available at:
As a side note, the chances that Lara will actually perform at Carnegie Hall in December went way up, for at this event she auctioned two tickets to it, which went for 20,000 euros!
And then of course Lara continued to act as a judge in the second week of “The Best”, video available at:
www.larafabianbrasil.com.br/2013/08/the-best-le-meilleur-artiste-assista-ao.html
Lara got mixed reviews for her hairdo, and generally favorable comments about her dress. There were a number of wonderful acts, including an incredible one in which the Canadian illusionist Luc Langevin involved Lara, which can be seen at:

Some of Lara’s fans think she overreacted to the magician’s tricks, having become sensitized to magicians, given that she married one! As an aside, Chris Tine on the MZ FB site found a youtube video which appears to be of Lara’s husband Gabriel performing; it can be seen at:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=ny3lZ2jY9KY
Gabriel was with her at the ‘Global Gala’, but not prominent in the pictures.
While the reaction to Lara has often seemed to dominate the ‘buzz’ about the program, both positively and negatively e.g., the article in purepeople where Lara is saying that the people love her and hate her:
www.purepeople.com/article/lara-fabian-intense-et-sincere-on-m-aime-et-on-me-deteste_a125819/1
there really have been some amazing performances. Actually, a number of the videos are available on line from TF1 (which just the week before was blocking them for viewers outside the country). See videos.tf1.fr/the-best/junior-almeida-vous-fait-decouvrir-la-danse-lockin-8240815.html
Given that the performers are, basically, unknown to the French public, the jurors have been getting a lot of publicity. ‘Tele2 semaine’ even has a video of the jurors talking (in French) about the best memories and decisions of their career, seen at:
www.programme.tv/news/interviews/62452-the-best-le-meilleur-des-jures-video/
For Lara, of course, her performance with Johnny Hallyday gets top billing (career) and becoming a mother (decision).
And in another article, Lara indicated she would have liked to be a participant. She said, (in translation): “If my preferred disciplines are singing and music, I know I can learn dance and choreography. With a mastery of decor and light, I could try to design a number that would have crossbred various disciplines. " See the full article, including a video of Lara’s reaction to the child performers from the first episode, at:

Lara was in several TV publications this past week, in particular on the cover of the new ‘Telepoche’, with a picture to remember:

She promoted her new album, and there is an indication that the promotion is going to pick up again in the fall. That’s a good thing, because Lara’s incitement of passions in the audience, both positively and negatively, has not seem to have had much benefit as far as her record sales are concerned. It turns out there are positions lower than 200 on the French charts, for Lara now occupies one (currently at 216). In Belgium she has currently stabilized at 37. The ‘purepeople’ article above mentioned ‘Le Secret’ has sold 100,000 copies, but most estimates available to fans suggest considerably less. For those of you who have forgotten over the summer how good that album really is, Julie Clift McGraw has put a wonderful montage of pictures and English subtitles to ‘Je reve d’une etoile' and 'Un ange est tombe' (still expected to be the second single), available at:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=ppR35MuxnJM
In other news, Lara proposed the playlist on Belgian radio RTL this past Sunday; her choices (thanks to Leila Celiniana on the FB site ‘Lara Fabian est ton autre’) were:
Michele Zarrillo "L'elefante e la farfalla"
John Dever "Take me home country road"
"Sailing" Cristopher Cross
"Too much love will kill you" Freddy Mercury
Phil Collins soundtrack for the movie “Tarzan”.
Lara has put a small message on her FB site, wishing her ‘angels’ a happy vacation:

with a Twitter picture offering the suggestion that people ‘run to the beaches’

Here’s an endorsement of both sentiments (in the NH, at least). We imagine she is taking her own advice.
