We finally know the date of the show event TF1, “The Best, best artist”. The show arrives Friday, July 26 at 8:50 p.m.! At the helm, there is of course Estelle Denis, who raved about the program produced by Shine France.

Finally TF1 has gotten Incredible Talent. Lara Fabian, who just married, Arturo Brachetti, Sebastien Stella and Alessandra Martines judge candidates from all backgrounds and from all disciplines. It is under a canopy that the public and the jury will notice. Indeed, as Puremédias indicates, four jurors will put a mark on 10 candidates, but not only! The public will also give a score to each artist, which represents 50% of the total judgment.
The best candidate will be installed on the red chair of The Best. But his competitors are there to dethrone him. At each pass, the artist will attempt to recover the seat of The Best. Suffice to say that the suspense is at its peak throughout the show!
Successful candidates to sit in the red chair throughout the adventure will qualify for the final. Each week, our jury will also save the candidate of his choice, who will have his place in the final.
At stake, 100 000 euros!

Why have you taken a place in this jury chair?
I wanted to go a little beyond the bounds of my metier. Through this program, I wanted to be both spectator and professional. I am interested in the artistic approach of ‘The Best The best artist’: the staging of a number, the choreography, the lighting, the decor ... On becoming a judge I walked into a parallel universe to mine, very attractive. Being a witness of the most beautiful numbers of the world is a chance. I nourish myself from each one of them and if I look with a dazzled child's eyes, I do not forget the professional in me. In this program, wonder is king.
How would you define your role?
In this context, the jury does not really rhyme with judgment. Indeed, the four of us take benevolence particularly to heart. In "judgment", there is a formulation that divides good and evil, a Manichean vision of life. None of us is positioned to give lessons. We observe performance and issue advice.
You must, however, after 2'30, assign a rating. What are your criteria?
I commit myself to five criteria. First I give a lot of importance to the outcome of a number. Then, an artist has to offer us a vision of the world in which he brings his discipline. Third, I focus on the involvement of the professional, his devotion to his art on stage. Then I look for emotion and finally, I focus my attention on his rigour. The magic of a number results from a ‘thousand leaves’ of elements: the prowess, the virtuosity, the poetry ... To join this program, you must already have a very high level. In this context, it seems unthinkable to put a 3 or a 4 out of 10. It would be pointless and it is not our role. From 6, I consider that the performance is good. The only thing I can not forgive is a complete botching but on ‘The Best The best artist’, it is impossible!
Would you be able to take part, as an artist, in such a program?
As a cabaret artist, certainly. If my preferred disciplines are singing and the music, I know how to dance and can learn choreography fairly accurately. I think I have a master's degree in decor and lighting and I could try to design a number which would have crossbred various disciplines to a certain level. I would have liked to have tried the experience…
What do you think about the other members of the jury?
The atmosphere is excellent, as if we were in our room, watching an amazing show among Italian friends ... All four are very natural and relaxed, we enjoy the show because there is no personal stake. We present our point of view frankly and in total cordiality. We always join on the essentials. Sebastian has a very sharp look at the technique. Arturo focuses more on scenic design. Alessandra is committed to the perfection of body language. There is a great harmony between us.

Last May 12th, Lara was at a benefit for the Eva Longoria Foundation, honoring the ‘Gregory LeMarchel Foundation” with ‘Our Heroes Award” and David Beclham with the ‘Global Gift Philanthropist Award’. A video of some of the highlights of the event is now available at:

In conjunction with this, Igor Krutoi gave an interview, in which he said he has recorded a second album with Lara, and it sounds very different from the first one. One wonders when this product of her ‘parallel’ career will become available…
With respect to her ‘first’ career, Nicolas Boucaud on the Mlle. Zhivago FB site reported that for the first six months of the year, ‘Le Secret’ was the 54th best selling album in France (http://www.actu.snepmusique.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/200_albums_fus_semestre_2013.pdf) – not bad, considering it had been out only two and a half months in that time. He also reported that it has sold 70,000 copies in France, where it is currently 108th, [this number presumably includes downloads, since hard copies are still listed at ~45,000] and more than 55,000 in Belgium (where it is currently in 24th place).
Another summer, holiday week ahead for Lara. Indonesia is one place she has never sung (to the best of my knowledge), and she would probably not be recognized, so it should be a complete break from the exigencies of her career.
