Lara was in full promotional mode this past week, with TV appearances and press interviews. One of the leading announcements concerned the showcase for the new album that Lara had mentioned previously. The details were made available today, and there will be two shows on the day of the album’s release, April 15. For 50 or 60 euros, one gets a package including the album and two tickets to a concert at the Théâtre de Paris .The advertisement for it reads, “A unique opportunity to hear for the first time the artist interpret the songs of her album on stage, that of the Théâtre de Paris, accompanied by eight musicians: a quartet, a classical guitar, drums, bass and accordion in a show at the height of her return". Lara, remaking upon the event, said "I am very happy with my collaboration with venteprivee.com, which allows me to offer both my album and a concert preview at a very affordable price. And to celebrate the release of my new album at the Théâtre de Paris is a unique opportunity for me to share this moment with my fans in an unexpected place, one of the oldest theater in Paris. And reveal a preview of the whole universe of my new creations.” The theatre seats 1000, and one imagines Lara’s fans will be scrambling to get those seats.
Another highlight was the filming of the clip for the single ‘Deux ils, deux elles’. It included various couples, both straight and gay, with lots of kissing. Lara even got into the act, with her friend Nathalie. There are many pictures of this available on Lara’s FB and Instagram sites, as well as on fan sites, for example at:
www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.542750969081238.1073741827.127093573980315&type=1.
Lara also asked the people who were there to send her photos of themselves so she could add them to her site. The video is to be presented to music channels in early April and it is supposed to be broadcast in rotation on M6, W9, NRJ Hits, and MCM Top. The radio station MFM is playing the single.
Lara was on LE PLUS GRAND CABARET DU MONDE on France 2 this weekend, featuring the ventriloquist Jeff Panaclock. The video is at www.youtube.com/watch?v=L4rhdDhfzXI&feature=youtu.be
A video of Lara talking and reacting on the show is also on youtube, at:

Last Friday, Lara was at the ‘sidaction’ (battle against AIDS); pictures of her looking quite demure are available on her website. The program will air April 6th, on France 2. Additional pictures are available at:

Lara continued her participation in ‘The Voice’. A montage video of her appearances is available at:

Concerning the press, Lara was featured in an article in ‘Le ciné télé revue’ in Belgium. The interview entitled "J'adore transmettre mon savoir" (I love passing on my knowledge) is available at:
www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=444086969005546&set=a.362412273839683.90487.359607740786803&type=1&theater
Referring to the program ‘The Voice’, Lara says she would have liked to be a coach (rather than an advisor), and was asked, but didn’t have the time. But she thought since they are also judges, that would have been hard for her, as she considers it cruel to the contestants. On the positive side, she said that one of the aims of the program is to encourage people to appreciate ‘Singers of Voice’. A goal Lara certainly shares!
Lara was also interviewed in ‘Tele Star’. In responding to questions about this being her first new album of French songs since 2005, she said she wanted to take her time in producing this album, to ‘not go faster than the music’. She mentioned that the title of the new album refers to "The secret of happiness that I hope to have found ..." . She also reiterates that even though she laughed, she has been hurt by the mockery she has received, in particular the program"Le Petit Journal" by Yann Barthes, on which they have a feature called ‘The Wonderful World of Lara’. She also brought up ‘Les Guignols’ from many years ago, where they made fun of her ‘screaming’ (rather than singing); she says she ended up almost believing it (and hence, although she doesn't say it, altered her vocal performances in France). She remarked that, “some people are paid to be mean”. With her coming promotional appearances, Lara will have plenty of opportunity to hit back at this treatment, which has been her pet peeve for years.
As for the Mlle. Zhivago film, it is now being coupled publicly with the new album [quite ironic, since it was supposed to help promote the previous, Mlle Zhivago, CD]. Lara’s FB site provided a link to the publicity blurb from radio station MFM. In it they note that Lara’s new film will be premiered on April 5, to be followed by the release of the new album, April 15th. And Purepeople covers the same in-tandem theme (at www.purepeople.com/article/lara-fabian-elle-est-mademoiselle-zhivago-avant-de-devoiler-le-secret_a117834/1). While totally separate ventures, they apparently share Lara’s creativity and boldness; together they have the chance of totally changing the perception of her in the minds of the French public. To coin a phrase, Life sometimes works in mysterious ways .
While it took a week, Lara did get around to adding a link to the new Mlle. Zhivago trailer on her FB site (quite a change from her reaction to the previous trailer). The accompanying comment said:

Hello all, Mademoiselle Zhivago, finally arrives after long years of waiting for you... For me...
I am pleased to present to you the story of this woman who through 9 lives breaks, builds, and loves. 9 new epics, disturbing and sometimes violent... The feverish heart... Here they are for you.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In response to the question of whether it would be released in France, the official answer was: “Yes but for now no official date, we'll keep you posted soon.”
Clearly, Lara is still disturbed by the violence, but presumably reconciled to it (as news reports continue to suggest it is Badoev’s version). The fact that she is planning to have it be shown to the French public indicates she is proud of it, all the controversy notwithstanding. A poster for the movie can be seen at:

The new official website larafabian.com/ is getting going, with some preliminary advertisements for the new album. Presumably it will open officially in time for (or on the day of) the album release. We’ll see if they give prominent publicity to the film as well.
Lara’s FB site has been encouraging fans to ‘like’ them. A few weeks ago, when they were at a bit more than 80,000 fans they said there would be a gift when 90,000 was reached. It still hasn’t been. Undaunted, late last week they posted the following message: "We have to reach 95 000 fans on the page before the end of the week-end and you'll get a surprise at the beginning of the next week... Stay tuned! ". Of course it didn’t happen, and so…no surprise was forthcoming (unless it was the showcase they had in mind). But their ‘likes’ might well pick up, if Lara becomes an object of interest this coming month.
As for future events, Lara’s advertisement for her concert in Turkey, at an ‘international music festival’, is on youtube, at:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=IYFduL-f1ek
Lara will be on TF1 this Friday on ‘Les Enfants de la Télé’, and on TF1 as well the next day for ‘The Voice. The same night she will be on France 2 in ‘Simplement pour un soir’. Hopefully videos will be made available.
