Lara took off some days this past week, as mentioned in this Valentine’s Day statement on her website:

Hello, darlings... A beautiful day for "fishing kisses", right ? I take some rest for a few days... The album is already in production... And soon in your hands... While waiting, I wish you happy Valentine's Day... Lov Lara

Meanwhile, the times of her upcoming TV appearances, both their recording and their broadcast, have been firmed up. Today, Lara is recording an appearance on Patrick Sebastien’s show ‘Le plus grand cabaret du monde’ on France 2. It is to be broadcast on March 23rd. It has been reported that she will sing her new single.
Her performance in honor of Charles Aznevour is scheduled for presentation on March 2nd, also on France 2.
Her appearance on ‘Chabada’ will be recorded February 26th in Paris. If you remember, the idea behind this show is that “three different generations will render homage to an artist of yesterday or today, via duets or reinterpretations”. Along with Lara will be Amaury Vassili and Roberto Alagna. Daniela Lumbrosa is the hostess, and she confirmed that Lara (as in the show with Patrick Sebastein) will sing the first single from ‘Le Secret. When asked what it will be, Daniela answered that they don’t yet know. This lessens somewhat the chance that it will be ‘Les ils, les elles’, for it if was, presumably they could just have been told that, as the song is already ‘out there’. Others have also pointed out that the time to make a big splash with that song was immediately after it aired on TV. So maybe the decision was made to promote something that might have more general appeal, and, again, perhaps be more up tempo. Daniela also responded that the show should be broadcast some 2 to 5 weeks after its registration, hence, sometime in March.
Lara will also be on TV this coming Friday, helping Florent Pagny on ‘The Voice’on TF1. While not directly a promo for the album, her appearance itself will accomplish some of that same purpose, helping her ‘reintroduction’ to the French public.
Concerning the album itself, ‘Elie Larabest’, on LFIAG, reported that Bruce Gaitsch said on his website that “this new Lara Fabian record 'Le Secret' is the wildest, deepest, best record I have ever worked on in my life”. Positive comments indeed! The ‘Lara Fabian est ton autre’ site noted that"Tu es de nous" is another title for the album listed as being in production (http://www.pisterouge.com/fr/music/references/52,Lara-Fabian-Album-en-production); we’ll see whether it made the final cut. Meanwhile, even though Lara says the album is finished, there are a number of issues still not signed off on. In addition to what the single will be, there is the long-delayed list of her upcoming concert schedule. On her FB site, there is a message saying "still a little bit of patience, but very little". Since she most likely will be presenting the new single on the show being taped today, and it will therefore be ‘out’ anyway, it is likely that it will be officially released later today. It was also indicated on her Twitter page that there is a new official site in preparation, presumably under the guidance of her new press agency – one can speculate that it might be ready in time for the album release, as was the case for ‘Neuf’. And Lara’s people indicate that when the FB site reaches 90,000 likes (currently some 84,000) there will be some surprises (that’s probably still at least a week away).
In the middle of these promotional activities, Lara will be away in Russia. There’s been some discussion among the French fans as to why she is making this trip. One suggestion that makes some degree of sense is that she is doing it for the money; although obviously we are not in any position to know her financial situation, she is having to cover the cost of the album production, release, and publicity. However, what these fans do not seem to fully appreciate is that Lara is expanding the base of her operations to include Russia. In an interview that appeared today in the daily magazine ‘Nous deux’, it was stated that she will give 23 concerts in Russia this year (this in addition to her comment about spending 6 months a year there, which might be an exaggeration). How many of these will be ‘Best of’, and how many will be in promotion for ‘Le Secret’ remains to be seen. In the near term, since it looks like the single will most likely be out by the time of the Russian concerts, one wonders if she will perform it live in Russia, or just ignore it (and ‘Le Secret’) entirely (these concerts are still called ‘Best of’). We know that until recently Lara generally ignored her international work (i.e., the Mlle. Zhivago album) when performing in France; it will be interesting to see if she adopts the similar reverse approach in Russia.
