Lara’s 2013 schedule now includes 7 concerts in Russia in March, (from the 6th through the 14th) as part of her ‘Best of’ tour; and so far 5 in Belgium, the fifth in Charleroi being added this past week, as part of ‘Le Secret’ tour. Although some of these have been overtly referred to by Lara’s people on her website, the site itself does not list them in either the future concert or the events sections. Presumably they are waiting for the full schedule to become available before listing anything; however, as tickets are already available for the shows mentioned above, this seems a somewhat questionable strategy - it may be some time before the whole tour is finalized, and the first concerts are coming up next month.
The other concert Lara has acknowledged, although again not officially, is supposed to take place at Carnegie Hall on December 27th (one is not sure which ‘tour’ that will be part). They have just released their schedule for the full year, with emphasis on the classical concerts. Nothing is listed for December 27th, which may just mean that it is not finalized, or just not classical.
On the TV front, March seems the time when Lara will be appearing on French TV, including ‘The Voice’, ‘Hier Encore’, ‘Music Hebdo Mag’, and ‘Chabada’. The shows are either to be recorded ahead of time or will be at the beginning of the month, ahead of her Russian concerts. Hence it will be a very busy time for her.
Meanwhile, Lara continues to get good press for her involvement with LGBT rights, and publicity for her new song, and new album. There were continuing reports in a number of the major French on-line sites (e.g., in Paris Match, at www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10151420464902417&set=a.398533517416.164839.382393522416&type=1&theater ), and even in some other countries (e.g., Luxembourg). It is still widely assumed that the ‘first release’ from ‘Le Secret’ is the song that she sang, ‘Deux ils, deux elles’. But what does that mean exactly? One fan reported that it had been released to Spotify and Deezer (online music streaming sites) but a search has failed to find the song on either one (if anyone has updated information about that, please let us know). There has been no report of the single being released to radio stations in France, or of it being played on any of them. ‘Charts in France’ is convinced that this is the first single from the album, and in their story about it even suggests that fans follow it on their charts; yet they don’t list it as a single, at least not yet. Perhaps that’s the point – presumably Lara just hasn’t gotten around to sending it around. So far, though, it is still not officially the ‘first single’.
In the last update we noted the other likely title that we are aware of for that album, the song ‘Le Secret’. However, there is actually a third candidate. You may remember that at several concerts a few years ago, Lara sang the (then) new song ‘Mirage’ (e.g., www.youtube.com/watch?v=q_-iGnsAq90). The music was written by Janey Clewer, who we know is at least one of the writers for the new album. It is another beautiful melody, and has the same intensity as the other two songs, so it would fit right in. Fans are starting to get the impression that this coming album may be much more like ‘Nue’ than the “rock/movie music” disc that had been advertised. Adding this song to the other two would certainly take it down that road.
Nothing is on the agenda publicly for the coming week. As evidenced from the schedule discussed above, March will be the start of her big push for the new album (as well as, oddly, a return to Russia, continuing last year’s tour); perhaps she is now resting up/preparing and/or ‘fine tuning’ the arrangements for ‘Le Secret’. For fans, there is much to look forward to from Lara in the coming months!
