Lara put a message on her FB site this past week in which she said that her next French language album ‘Le Secret’ is now finished. The rest of the message concerned the Fall 2013 tour for the album; she offered to allow readers on her site to reserve tickets for her first three concerts in Belgium next September before sales were open to the general public. [The offer was only good for 72 hours, and the deadline has now passed.]
Advertisements for the tour are already appearing, even this far ahead of time, indicating the seriousness of her endeavor. e.g.,

There is no further info on what the tour will comprise, but Nicholas Boucaud, on the MZ FB site, suggests that since the price for tickets, 58 euros, is more expensive than it was for the TLFM tour, that implies it will not be a simple ‘acoustic’ show. Of course, it might also reflect Lara’s having to pay for the whole venture herself. Also, Roz, on the same site, noted that when Lara performed her acoustic show at Yutz and Ludres during the same tour, the price was similar to the full show.
We have known for some time that the album is due to be released on April 15, with the first single coming out in January. However, nothing else about the album has stayed constant. In discussing the album back in June of 2011, Lara indicated that she had yet to decide on a theme for it. Then, to everyone’s surprise, in October of that year she posted a video of her working on the album, including a duet; at that point she said it would be done in collaboration with Giora Linenberg. Now we hear that it is actually being written with Janey Clewer, and on a recent TV show on NRJ TV she indicated that the duet would not be on it. So if it is finished, it would appear that it has had a somewhat long and circuitous path.
In addition, Lara’s people just put the following message on her site:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hello everyone, we will communicate at the beginning of next exclusive here on Facebook all the dates of the world tour of Lara Fabian. The Production.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The phrase ‘world tour’ sounds intriguing; but given that the tour is basically to promote her new French album, and that the message was put on only in French, one can’t have too great expectations as to where Lara will really perform. Nevertheless, taking her at her word, larafabianweb.com has posted a list of the halls where Lara ‘may’ appear; it’s at:

From their lips to Lara’s ears…
Meanwhlle, Lara is starting to line up appearances in the French media, which even if they are not directly related to the new album, will at least keep her name in the news. For example, she will be joining such luminaries as Johnny Hallyday, Patrick Bruel, Patricia Kaas, Isabelle Boulay and Serge Lama, among others, for a live perform at the Zenith in Paris to celebrate 100 years of French song. The show, called "La Fête de la Chanson française", will be hosted by Daniela Lumbroso, and shown on France 3, Friday, January 11. With this appearance, Lara fully rejoins the ‘mainstream’ of French music, a necessity if she wants to rejoin the mainstream French public.
The MZ project and film came up in the NRJ interview, and Lara repeated her contention that it was too negative and therefore should not be shown – nothing new in that regard. We still have had no indication of the ‘last piece’ that Lara said she would be releasing from it, potentially involving at least some of the videos that were made. BTW, fans noted that Lara’s official FB site had not indicated Lara was to be on the program – nothing new in that regard, either. Her breakup with Gerard was also discussed, but in a gentle, and appropriate, fashion.
In other news, it turns out that Lara was in Sicily for the opening of the ‘Casanova. 3D' performance, for which she was musical director. Photos of her appearing there are at:

Lara probably used the occasion to visit with her family on her mother’s side, with the holidays coming upon us. And in that regard, next week’s update will occur on Monday, the 24th…for those who don’t see it, Happy Holidays to you all.
