Lara finished her Russian/Ukrainian tour this past week. To say it was an unqualified success is, if anything, an understatement. Here is Lara’s comment on it (from the Lara Fabian Romanian site, thanks to Daina):
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lara Fabian @ "Московский Комсомолец" [article excerpt] 02/11/2012]
The reporter of “MK” was the only one who was granted an exclusive mini-interview by Lara Fabian. She said that she was very pleased with the concert tour in Russian cities (“Song of the Year” was the final performance of this tour), and she had loved everything: the audience, concert halls, Russian cities, the management of these guest performances, food etc. etc. Although the weather conditions impressed the star, she was not scared by that at all. Also, there was an unusual confession during the interview: “I was crying so much each night after the concert!”, Lara Fabian said in a sincere and simple manner.
- Oh my God, Lara, why ? After all, you are saying that you loved everything !
- There was such an amazing audience in every city! An exchange of emotions; I was so overwhelmed and startled by the dedication of people, that I was not able to cope with it, and I was crying literally after each concert!
- Is the audience less emotional in other countries?
- It is different ! This is your mysterious Slavic soul... You can really feel that during concerts ! Its openness ! It was so touching that I couldn't control myself.
- Is there a difference between spectators in different cities; after all, your tour in Russia was pretty long ?
- No, I didn't observe that; there's a difference between cities, but people are the same everywhere: kind and open.
- You performed in Moscow and Saint Petersburg. One of these cities is considered to be the business capital, and the other one – the cultural capital. Maybe you noticed a difference there?
- No, there's no difference among people in places where creativity, exchange of emotions exist.
Lara Fabian admitted that this had not been her last visit to Russia, “I was invited to come back”.

An example of the crying, this time before the concert ended, was during Lara’s last song of the tour, the Russian ‘Love Like A Dream’. Several videos exist of it, not perfect quality, but the sentiment comes through:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=9FEYJtVE1IM&feature=share
www.youtube.com/watch?v=W2la3XhCqTk
Coming on top of the announcement of her break-up with Gerard and the pubic acknowledgement of the same thing with her record company, this tour had to be a ‘life-saver’ for Lara emotionally. The article notes that it will not be the last such tour there – if 2013 and the first part of 2014 is to be devoted to her French audience, one can imagine that the latter part of 2014 into 2015 may well be her return with a new album (via Igor Krutoi) and an accompanying concert series through these same countries.
As the article further notes, the tour actually ended with Lara taping an appearance on the Russian ‘Song of the Year’ TV show, to be aired on January 1, 2013. She ‘performed’ ‘Je t’aime encore’ with Igor on the piano. Several different preliminary videos exist, e.g.,
www.youtube.com/watch?v=KiPPR6uJve4&feature=youtu.be
and we will undoubtedly get the professional version when the show airs. A nice photo of Lara and Igor at this event can be seen at:

In the video, one can see Lara wearing a black jacket that was apparently designed by the Igor Gulyaev Fashion House. Here is a close-up of it:

In fact, it would appear as if Lara has established a working relationship with him; see, for example the photo that he has on his website:

Some fans were very disappointed that Lara was wearing what appeared to be real fur…
Coming back to the west, Lara devoted her attention to the auction of ‘little faces of the creators’ (i.e., dolls) that was taking place through UNICEF at the Petit Palais in Paris. Lara was the ‘godmother’ of the event, and devoted her FB site to trying to drum up business for it, whose proceeds go to providing vaccinations for children in DARFUR in 2013. Here are her messages:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Good evening to all, 9 Productions joins ' Unicef for the dolls: www.frimoussesdecreateurs.fr/ auction on December 3.
For every object bought on the site of Lara (http://www.larafabianshop.com/), 50% of the price will be donated to Unicef as part of this sale.
In addition, a draw will be made by Lara herself among the participants who will have a minimum of 10 euro.
Two winners will have the chance to be invited to meet Lara in VIP on his next tour in 2013/2014 in the city of their choice.
We look forward to your participation to support this important work.
Good evening.

"My Angels, firstly thank you to all those who actively participated in UNICEF!! I, we still need you, to help these children, I count on you, and your generosity!! Do not hesitate to make a donation to the site, www.larafabianshop.com/
EVERY euro counts ... Lov. Lara "
------------------
My Angels thanks to your generosity and solidarity of the thousands of children will be vaccinated in Darfur in 2013. Our mascot will be the Gucci doll. Long live my Angels thank you and bravo! Lov. Lara
----------------------------------------------------------------
In fact, Lara raised the bid on many of the dolls, took the microphone to encourage bidders, and led the auction of a Russian doll (still not getting away from Russia… );
Videos of Lara’s participation can be found at:

(click on the lead photo to see several others)…
Lara is always available for charities that benefit children; and this also helps to raise her profile in France after many months away.
Finally, as a complete non-sequitor, Gerald Willeman on the Mlle. Zhivago FB site has posted a video of Lara singing a duet of ‘Le roi est un fou’. It’s not clear exactly when it took place at a private club, but fans were of the opinion that it was probably recent, and noted how great Lara’s voice sounded. It can be seen at:
www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=4896500609191&set=o.104543256256462&type=2&theater
With the holidays coming up, it’s likely that Lara will have fewer public appearances. Fans sites have been spoiled these past few months due to her high level of activity. However, one cannot rule out Lara popping up in the media even before the release of her new single in January, for she must now realize that without a record company to promote her, it is entirely up to her to win over the French public. At least she now knows she has a real fan base in Russia…
