Lara ultimately did make a video appearance on Lebanese TV this past week. The video of it, along with English subtitles (thanks to the Lara Fabian Romanian channel) is available on youtube at:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=5VxJwRC9KqU
In it Lara, in a fairly unrepentant mood, is clearly put off by the threats, and maintains that her songs of love will be presented on the TV show to be aired on Valentine’s Day. The Lebanese MTV host was clearly on Lara’s side. Again, the show should be available on:
www.mtv.com.lb/Live
www.radionomy.com/en/radio/radionostalgia
starting at 2100 French time (2200 Lebanese time).
Perhaps not coincidentally, it was announced that Lara will be performing in Israel on June 7, in the city of Caesarea. Individual tickets are already one sale; they can be purchased at:
bravo.israelinfo.ru/announce/buy/26559
One has to look at this, particularly the timing of the announcement, as another act of defiance on Lara’s part, although she does like to go to Israel.
In other news, Lara’s people put the following message on her FB site:
----------------------------------------------------------
Hello fans, we don't forget you... the preparation of a January 15 video clip is ongoing... soon online... The staff
----------------------------------------------------------
We know that Gerard was walking around shooting video during the concert, which implied that something was going to be done with it, so the message is not a great surprise. What we still don’t know is what this will really be; the phrase ‘video clip’ implies it won’t be the whole show, but perhaps selected highlights. There’s enough high quality material from the concert available on youtube to put together one’s own reproduction of the show in any event.
As indicated by 'bward' in another thread, Lara was at Forest National in Brussels to see the show by Veronic DiCaire. In addition to being on Veronic’s own website, the picture of them together can be found at
www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=3236688837719&set=o.104543256256462&type=1&theater
According to several websites, Lara was invited to appear at the recording of the program ‘Vivement Dimance – Nana Mouskouri’, to take place February 22. Apparently she has not yet accepted.
The website pure-lara has started a bi-monthly magazine (in French). It can be found at:
www.pure-lara.fr/index.php/actualites/76-decouvrez-pure-lara-le-mag
The first edition had nothing that we didn’t know before, except for the tidbit that there were 800 people at the Paris concert. Don’t expect anything controversial or even probing from them – they didn’t even include anything about the cancellation of the Lebanese concerts, although they did know about them. ‘Pure-lara’ is one of the most conservative of the Lara fan sites. Nevertheless, it’s nice that they’re trying to fill in the space left by the termination of the Farfallina quarterly. They’ve also indicated that they’re open to contributions from others (though probably not in English).
The Lara Fabian Romanian channel has begun a new series of ‘English subtitles’ for the program “Quelque chose en nous de…Lara Fabian” (something I had recommended some time ago). This was the Belgian program dedicated to Lara’s life and career from 2009, arguably one of the best ever done on her. The 10 different segments will be available on youtube, with the first to be found at:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=DWSpa53i00c
A one minute video interview with Lara for a biography about Igor Krutoi is available on youtube, at:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=qW4BYOGP-wk&
It is in Russian; nevertheless, there is nice video of Lara performing.
The next news update will be the day of Lara’s concert for the Lebanese fans. If there is any further info of importance concerning it, it will be posted before then.
