Here is David's current Lara weekly update.
News Update 7/23

Back to public business for Lara...
Lara opened the summer concert series with four shows in the south of France this past week. The second show was almost postponed because of big thunderstorms and several of the shows started late, with some sound problems. Nevertheless, in all cases, the concerts seemed to be great successes - the common phrase was that Lara was in top form. The song format (including the little girl skit with Bambina) was fairly similar to that of the previous tour, emphasizing the releases from Neuf, Pure, and Nue. The major difference was that there were only four musicians with her for these 'acoustic' shows, and no chorus. A complete list of the songs is available on Laradom, and some photos and brief videos are available on the web.
The one additional number came from the fan voting, Angel (the Sarah McLachlan song). My guess is that this raises the likelihood that the song will be on the multilingual album, if it doesn't appear elsewhere first.
Another big change was the reappearance on the tour of pianist Pierre Grimard (e.g., the pianist on ETI), always a fan favorite, who received great applause (and even had Happy Birthday sung to him on one of the nights).
It must be said that after some 75 concerts in the past year, Lara has perfected her show, her performance of the songs, and, as always, her ease and interaction with the audience. For the past few months, every one of her concerts has appeared to find her 'in top form' - even the one in Montreal when she sang the older songs. Her confidence in performing must truly be at its peak.
Lara had several interviews with respect to these concerts. In one, she mentioned the upcoming Live album, again commenting that it would have 'Aime' on it. She also said that "Aime" and "Pas sans toi" are her two favorite songs of the repertoire. Since the English version is undoubtedly going to be on the multilingual album, I wouldn't be surprised if it were the single to be released for the English speaking market following the Italian single still scheduled for September (admittedly this is very speculative and premature).
It should also be noted that the tone of these interviews gives the impression that people are waking up to what an amazing talent Lara is - in effect, remembering their feelings of 1996-2000. After the pummeling she received the following years, she has now clearly won back the critics, if not the masses.
Lara will be off this week, and her next public appearance is in Latvia, on the 31st, as a special guest for the "New Wave 2006" international competition of young singers. The week after that the next 4 concerts of the summer festival take place. Given that one assumes work is still continuing on the two next albums, she is certainly keeping busy. And according to Lara's father, Lara's third newsletter, Farfallina 3, will be sent out at the end of next week.
