After all the sturm und drang last week concerning the failings of her management team, Lara did what she does best, continuing her concert tour this past week with events in Marseille, Montpellier, Toulon and Nice. In all four concerts she was in top form vocally, even while appearing to still have a bit of a cold (nevertheless, she sang 'Adagio' in each one). The concert in Marseille was apparently a dream, with a great performance by Lara and super ambiance with the audience. The audience was also fine in Montpellier and Nice, and somewhat dead in Toulon. Several sets of pictures of Lara are available on the official site from Montpellier at:
www.larafabian.com/forumLara/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=8843&sid=25fd222aa9544fd315feea0f179443aa&start=165
and videos are available from all four concerts (especially Toulon) on youtube (check out the wonderful performances of 'Adagio' in particular).
This marked the end of her tour for 2009. Despite some less-than-full houses, and criticism of some aspects of these shows, Lara's personality and great vocal power were never in question. A phrase often heard in the fans' chronicles is that when the concert was over, they had to 'come down off their cloud'. One fan's (translated) quote, from Nice, seems to summarize what people at all her concerts were saying about her:
"I'm a fan of Lara for 12 years but tonight was my first concert of Lara, she is as I had imagined simple, generous, funny, moving, she has an incredible zest for life and I'd forgotten, she is sublime!" (from Mistigri, on the official site forum).
In association with the tour, Lara did a promo on French 3 on the 17th from Montpellier. It included singing a bit of 'Nuit Magique' with the hologram of Catherine Lara in the background. It can be found on NABBOX. She also had a broadcast interview on France Bleu Azur on the 18th (also available on NABBOX) in which she sang short, a capella portions of 'Demaine n'exists pas' and of 'Soleil soleil. During the interview she mentions that her new album will become available at the end of her coming tour; however, fans noted that the interview probably took place last spring, before the delay in the filming of the accompanying movie (Madame Zhivago). You may remember that Igor Krutoi has indicated the album (and movie) will be released towards the latter part of next year.
And a short video of aspects of Lara's TLFM tour (from Tours) is available on youtube at:

A particularly interesting thing about it is that it looks professionally done - which raises the possibility that Lara is filming the concert tour for use in an eventual DVD release. Of course this particular video effort may be completely independent of that - but it would be a shame to let the high-tech aspects of the show go unrecorded.
While her concerts are now in suspension until mid-January, Lara will appear on up to 4 television programs in the week around New Years and another shortly after. "Les enfants de la tele", recorded on October 26th, will be broadcast December 26th on TF1.Some photos are available on the official site at:

"La chorale des petites chanteurs", where Lara will join other singers in performing French standards, has been advertised as being broadcast on Channel RTBF in Belgium on the 25th, and on France 3 on the 29th (there may be some doubt about both dates). The show was recorded November 17th and Lara sang "Mamy Bleu". As the title of the show implies, the chorus is provided by young singers. A nice photo of Lara from the recording can be found at:
www.leblogtvnews.com/article-la-chorale-des-petits-chanteurs-le-29-decembre-40815553.html
Lara will also be on "N'oubliez pas les paroles" on January 1st, and may be on "L'ecole des fans' in early January (perhaps January 2nd).
And finally, you may remember that Lara cancelled an appearance set for early November on "Panique dans l'oreillette", saying she was too tired to do it. But she appears to have regained her strength, or at any rate she will now record the show January 11th, to be shown January 13th. It's a well-known interview program with much prestige.
[With respect to the fans' complaints about Lara's management discussed last week, and in particular to the criticism about Lara not getting enough TV appearances recently: before closing the topic, Nathalie responded by saying that there are fewer variety shows now on French TV than there were back in 1998, but she maintained that Lara does have a professional management team (herself included). Lara's presence on all of these TV shows is a reminder that her management is not completely inactive. However, the main thrust of the arguments against them concerns the well-documented lapses in communications with fans, and the apparently torturous path that Lara's career has been taking.]
The cover of Lara's new promo single, 'Amoureuse', is available at:

It has been heard on 'France Bleu'.
BTW, for those wondering, the version of EWIM sold on FNAC is exactly the same as that ordered from the official site or sold at the concerts - except the price ends up being 5 euros more. [However - one can be sure of getting it, which is not exactly the case with the official site…].
Some nice photos of Lara at the 'chocolat de Paris' show, thanks to germainpire on the official site, can be found at:

Additional photos of Lara from this show appeared in this week's 'Ici Paris'.
Lara was also in the magazine 'Bebe Zen'. As reported by someone who bought it, the photos aren't new, and it is much the same material we've seen elsewhere: Lara is now more serene - as Capricorns are happier when they get older - and her mother is an icon for her.
Restck1989 (Christina) reported in the thread for last week's update on the meeting between Lara and the director of the movie 'Charlie', and its new shooting schedule. So Lara is now suposed to film for 'Madame Zhivago' starting in April/May, and for 'Charlie' during the summer. Hopefully this will all work out…(how many times have we said that before concerning Lara's projects ☺).
Meanwhile, in the near term, everything is clear - Lara - and we - have the season's holidays approaching. Happy holidays everyone! Next week in addition to the update, the "year-in-review" will be posted.
