This past week more promotion events for the new album have been added, as well as some more concerts for the fall tour. As a reminder, larafabianweb.com has a calendar in which one can see for each month what is planned. As of this point there are 10 events scheduled for the next three months, plus at least 4 whose date has not yet been finalized or announced. Again, the calendar is available at:

(Or one could choose to look at the home page of the French version of the official site.)
Fans have been asking Nathalie on the official site to tell them when the recording of some of these shows will take place, in hopes they can go. (This follows the controversy associated with the registration of the show in Brussles last month, that some fans managed to attend even though it was officially closed.) So far there has been no response.
The promo CD cover (thanks to valou 712) is available at:

While fans in general like this cover, and that of the album, the feeling is that these are older photos, and they wonder why new ones were not taken. Someone speculated that it was a matter of time, but that’s hard to believe, given how long the album has been delayed. Was Lara sensitive about her current appearance? BTW, it doesn’t appear as if the CD will really be available for sale, as such.
On the welcome page of the official site, the full rendition of the album version of “Soleil Soleil” is being played. It differs from the ‘singe’ version in that it has an extra short chorus – in English. Many people felt that the single was too repetitive and was in fact missing an additional stanza, so this version has gotten higher marks from fans. Why they chose to excise the English lyrics, and so throw the song out of balance, is a mystery. Did they feel that French radio stations would be repelled by the English words? They apparently did not feel the same about the Italian words that were included. Another puzzling marketing decision by Lara.
Concerning the new album, for whatever reason the album release has slipped one day, now scheduled for May 26th. In addition, Lara left a message on the site of ‘france bleue’ (the only radio station that has regularly played the single). Here are her words (in translation) (thanks to angeyelliel for copying the original text):
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"In this new work, the magnificent songs of great interpreters, singers, authors, composers such as Barbara, Céline Dion, Catherine Lara, Maurane, Véronique Sanson and many others follow one another.
These splendid women who have influenced me are given places of honor in a musical voyage towards the future. You’ve known them always, but "Toutes les femmes en moi" has allowed me to reinvent them by entirely re-imagining some of the arrangements…I dare to say ‘changed’ but with the greatest respect.
A mixture of miscellaneous styles: R&B, pop urban, and gospel music..
These works are a part of my past, of my memory, of that which has nourished me, while the arrangements and placing of my voice in the middle of them, are representative of my absolute desire to remain faithful to myself.
A curve, a return toward my sources, a trip that I hope will charm you...
With tenderness,
Lara"

As Lara has included the Zenith theatres on her Autumn tour, some interesting (older) pictures of Lara performing at the Zenith in Toulon were made available (thanks to angeyelliel) at
www.zenith-omega-toulon.com/frameset.htm
(it’s necessary to choose photothèque and then pick Lara)
Caught in the midst of action, some of these are more humorous than those one usually sees of her...
While no events are scheduled for the coming week, this is the last week of Lara’s sabbatical for which that has to be said!
