since the full song is no longer available on youtube, i was able to listen only to the short clip. i kinda like the melody. it's not great or anything, just nice and easy. i suspect Lara doesn't really want to sing any "powerful" songs anymore, nothing that would require too much vocal effort. i like her singing softly coz that's when her crystal voice really comes out and distinguishes her from any other singer. for me, the melody of a song is what catches my attention and i'm afraid i'm not particularly blown away by any of the songs that Lara chose to cover.
but i'll buy TLFM anyway coz who knows? maybe the songs will grow on me. as long as it's Lara's voice, they can't be that bad eh? :-)

The song is starting to grow on me as long as I don't listen to it on repeat. If I do that I get tired of it after a few listens.

The more I listen to it the more I like it. It's kind of the way I feel about A Wonderful Life.
Lib, I think Lara gave up power ballads starting with En Toute Inimite. Her albums have had few since then. I do miss them, it was what drew me to her in the first place.
That said as long as Lara's singing still moves me I will continue to purchase her albums. Soleil Soleil moves me. It makes me feel happy. Lara makes a simple song enjoyable. I am looking forward to the album.

Hi..I'm new here...I'm a new Lara fan anyway,I know her only a month but it's like been ages. I'm from Greece and and she isn't very popular here and that's something that really sads me but i hope it' ll change. As you can assume I'm passing through a very strong emotional phase, spending lots of hours listening again and again her old songs...(I'm writing this post while i'm listening to J'y crois encore...today's song on repeat). Since the first day I watched the video of Je t'aime live at nue on ytb everything has changed. She became my favorite singer because she is the first person who made me to cry,to smile,to dream,to feel,to fly.... and I have to admit that I'm so grateful to her.
Sorry about the long post,I don't even know if it's OK posting it here...but I really wanted to say these things.
I think Soleil Soleil...needs time so we can get used to a more happy version of Lara...to be honest I was so surprised when I heard it...cause if I think of all her songs...I'm addicted to the "sad" ones...
Anyway,Lara is a great singer...with a wonderful, angelic voice and I really trust her.She always gives her soul when she sings...so I'm pretty sure she will do it again.

I agree with you. It's starting to grow on me and I don't usually like happy songs. I'm very much looking forward to the album. I think my big mistake was listening to the song on repeat for half-an-hour and it didn't seem so good. That was probably due to the fact it is a very repetitive song. The song represents what the song is about in feeling and music.

I did the same think...the first 2 times where just like being in heaven...Lara's new song was here....yeaaaah...but after that, and as always, the song lost its meaning...to make me happy...to make me smile...so i stopped listening to it repeatedly and now I feel like I'm flying when I listen to it.

Aww I like it!!! As you said, it's a very happy song, without lots of deep meanings and moral aims, it just expresses how the Sun can give us happiness. And it's true! I have to admit she has done a lot of better songs...but it makes me smile, and that's sufficient. And last but not least: she speaks in italiaaaan!!!

Welcome restck1989.
I know what you mean about the sad songs. I am a sucker for broken hearted power ballads and Lara is the best at singing them.
I think that Lara sang the songs with such emotion because she was in pain at that time in her life. And most of the songs were co-written by her so she felt the words. Now I think her life is in a much happier place and you can feel the happiness in Soleil Soleil. Sad or happy Lara can really interpret a song.
Lara has touched my life too as I am sure she has touched everyone that posts here. Did you get to see Lara in Greece when she performed with my second favorite singer Mario Frangoulis?

I'm really glad to be here... Her concerts.... Well...that's a long, sad story Today,I have a kind of anniversary ;D ;D I first listened to Lara's songs exactly one month ago!!! As I've said, she's not very famous here in Greece,I mean I've never listened one of her songs on the radio....so as you can assume.... I Didn't go to the concerts Something that I can't forgive myself for. Before her second concert on September, another concert took place there and it was canceled because of the rain, and when I asked if they could do it again next week, they said..."No,There will be Mario Fragoulis and Lara Fabian here, next week",and my response...."Who is sheeeeeee? ??" ;D So,I feel just like the last one month was my punishment for that answer....the sweetest punishment I've ever had.... p.s:A great female Greek singer released at her latest album a Greek version of Je t'aime which is called Πες μου-Pes mou (Tell me).... Let me know if you want me to upload it here.... Have a good day Christina!

Well, here's the song and the lyrics in Greek and the translation in English... www.sendspace.com/file/spklroΠες μου - Pes mou Ελευθερία Αρβανιτάκη - Eleftheria Arvanitaki Δε θέλω λόγια εγώ σε ένα φάκελο κλειστό χωρίς μια μυρωδιά απ`τα δικά σου τα μαλλιά. Δε θέλω γράμματα να λένε πράγματα σκληρά να λένε, ως εδώ εμείς οι δυο. I don't want words in a closed envelope without a smell of your hair I don't want letters which say harsh things which say we are over. I don't want words that I can't face i want to see the body that will deny love. If you want to end this to look at me and live it whatever you have to tell me come here. Πες μου, πες μου πες πως θες να με νικάς πως είσαι εντάξει,πως γελάς. Πες μου,πες μου πες πως θες να με νικάς μα πρώτα πες μου πώς μπορείς ξεχνώντας με να ζεις. Tell me,tell me tell me that you want to overcome me that you are fine, that you laugh. Tell me,tell me tell me that you want to overcome me but first tell me how can you live having forgotten Δε θέλω γράμματα να περιγράφουν την καρδιά να λεν πως κάποτε αληθινά μ`αγάπησε. Δε θέλω γράμματα που να χωρίζουν σιωπηλά ό,τι έχεις πες το εδώ για να τ`ακούσουμε κι οι δυο. I don't want letters that describe the heart that say that he truly loved me once. I don't want letters that separate us silently whatever you have to say,say it here so we can both hear it. I'd love to read your comments. Ms Arvanitaki is one of the most appreciated artists in Greece and a great voice.
