Yahoo news carried a small article repeating the charge that Pascal Nègre did not like what he heard of Lara’s album, and that this what has caused the delay in its release. Simply repeating the story doesn’t make it true, but it certainly reinforces the perception that everyone is getting. The item does come with a nice picture of Lara ☺; it can be seen at:
fr.news.yahoo.com/5/20081204/ten-lara-fabian-elle-provoque-le-courrou-e95f385.html
However, the big news this week concerned the opening up of the website:
www.larafabian.com
If one goes to it, one sees that it calls itself “Lara Fabian on the web”, and while it is not yet ready, the focus will be on TLFM, the upcoming album. You may remember that this was the domain name of the Sony website for Lara. The funny thing is: it still is! Crut01 on Laradom did a search on the domain name, and his results showed the following:

As you might imagine, this set off all sorts of speculation concerning Lara’s future record company. On one extreme was the thought that Lara had refused to modify the album as per Pascal Nègre’s instructions, and so went back to Sony. Under this scenario, she would in effect have two official sites- her own (with really no participation from any record company), and this one from Sony. However, aurélie on Hezia’s site reported that at the private concert for the fans on 10/16, two women spoke to them and told them that the official site was going to change – which was why it would not be possible to renew membership in the near future. Note that the person responsible for this site is in Belgium. That would seem to suggest that the change was in the works even prior to Pascal's reaction to the album.
It is completely understandable that Lara’s people would want to rid themselves of the responsibility of running their own website, given the miserable job they’ve done of it – but choosing the Sony domain raises its own host of questions. Why not just use Universal’s own website – which is how a number of other artists do it? Has Sony worked out a partnership with Universal to jointly present Lara’s music (which would be great news!)? It might also presage a new effort by Lara for the international market…Either way, ‘change is in the air’ – and the reality of a new album still called TLFM is heightened.
In addition to the two record companies, there are now two different listings extant of the songs for the new album. Larafabianweb.com copied a list that has been making the rounds, and in addition, provided links to videos of the originals of the songs. I’ve filled in the URL for the links below each song (again, thanks to Nico and Laetitia on larafabian.web):

In contrast, the website:
www.cd-lexikon.de/album_lara-fabian-toutes-les-femmes-en-moi.htm
listed the following information for the upcoming album
CD-Facts:
Tracklisting:
1. Göttingen
2. Hymne a l’amour
3. Mamy Blue
4. Message personnel
5. J’ai 12 ans
6. Il venait d’avoir 18 ans
7. Babacar
8. L’amour existe encore
9. Nuit magique
10. Soleil, soleil
11. Amoureuse
12. Femme avec toi
In this list, a number of the songs are missing, in particular “Ca casse” which was one of the six Lara has already introduced. In either case, additional changes may well occur before the album finally appears next spring, making all such lists somewhat speculative.
There are also now two new releases featuring Lara. The DVD of the Night of the Proms from the spring of 2007 is now available on their website
www.notp.com/france/home
As one can see, it features Lara singing Adagio. A video (presumably of the same performance) was already made available of this on the TV show dedicated to the NOTP that was broadcast on Belgian TV last spring (and that also featured that amazing version of “I’m So Excited”). It’s still available on Youtube. There are of course other artists on the DVD, which costs 20 Euros (plus shipping).
Also, Paula in a post with the previous News Update reported that the upcoming album from Mario Frangoulis featuring Lara and others (from the concerts in Athens in May) is now available for pre-order, at:
www.mariofrangoulisandfriends.com/
It is a dual CD, called “Mario And Friends: What A Wonderful World “, and costs $25.99. Lara is mentioned as being one of the participants, but as of yet there is no indication of which song(s) she does.
Christian put a message on the official site this week urging people to support AMTM (children’s foundation) in time for Christmas. Apparently Lara is still involved with this charity, although she hasn’t appeared to do much with it in the last 2 years. For those interested, its home page is:
www.amtm.org
Finally, returning to the October 16th show, Humana85 on Hezia’s site, put together a compendium of Lara’s interactions with the audience. The 22 different short segments are available at:
humana--9.skyrock.com/2105159435-Tout-en-Images-&-Son.html
Together with videos of the songs and some of the circus acts already available on Youtube, one could probably put together much of this show.
