The big news this week of course was Lara’s appearance at Royal Albert Hall with Mario Frangoulis. A complete description was provided by Céline on the official site. The translation is provided below.

What a pleasure to at last see Lara on stage again and…in London no less.
Lara in London it is a little bit of a realization of a dream for me, it is such a longtime that I have waited for her to come sing in this city…in any case I hope that the welcome which was given to her pleased her and that she will return…one day.
For yesterday evening’s concert, I admit that I was a little afraid that she would only sing a few songs seeing the number of invitees present…but in fact, not at all. While referring to the concert I would say that Lara was a “Very Special Guest” and that the other invitees were some Special Guests” in short! In effect, Lara sang 6 songs (It is she who sang the most songs yesterday evening…after Mario of course!).
Lara appeared in the second and last parts of the show.
After having sang “Ne me quitte pas” Mario presented Lara;
“I’d love to bring on stage a wonderful Belgian-Canadian performer. She’s probably one of the 3 best voices in the world. The 3 fantastic voices in this world : Barbra Streisand ; Céline Dion ; and…Lara Fabian. Please welcome on stage Lara Fabian”
Lara enters then on stage with her white suit from “Un Regard 9” and straight hair. Lara and Mario explain how they met each other, speaking of De-Lovely, joking about the dress that Lara wore….and they sing “Tue es mon autre”. A very nice moment, their voices are in perfect harmony…it is beautiful!!!
Then Mario leaves the stage and Lara carries on with a haunting "Adagio” (all in English) comparable to the version from NOTP for those who were there. At the end of the song, Lara received a “Lara I love you” from a person in the audience to whom she responds “me too”, thanks very much me also I love you, me too”.
Then follows an introduction of Broken Vow by Lara herself:
"…I thought maybe the saddest song that I wrote ! Why ? Because it’s the happiest moment of my life tonight...one of the happiest…the opposite definitely on tracks"
A majestic interpretation full of emotion, of power…just Wahou!!
After Mario returns to the stage with a red rose for Lara, off the cuff she doesn’t know what to do with it, Mario takes it from her and puts it in his glass of water sitting on the stage which is then worth a: “Don’t drink the water after” from Lara.
They then follow with “So In Love” and enjoy themselves very much on this song, they have the air of truly understanding one another very much…their complicity is a pleasure to see.
The song ends, Lara salutes the public, makes her traditional launching of kisses and leaves. She is trapped by Mario who leads her to the front of the stage and asks her to profit from the applause….Lara re-salutes the audience, relaunches her kisses, retakes her rose, and leaves.
The show continues…
For the last, Mario recalls all the invitees onto the stage, thanks them for having accepted the invitation and they all sing together a song began by Lara. It’ is “You’ll never walk alone” rearranged by the very talented National Symphony Orchestra directed by Anthony Inglis.
The song ends the invitees receive a big bouquet of flowers, the artists salute the audience and they leave.
Some seconds later Mario returns for the encore performs a song and asks Lara to come back for the very end. Lara reappears on stage and asks Mario: Are you sure you want one more song?”
And Mario responds to her:
"I’d like to sing a song with you"
Mario presents the song: “All alone am I” that Lara starts accompanied only by piano, a magnificent moment sublimed by the purity of Lara’s voice, the beauty of the song and the atmosphere of the Royal Albert Hall (which it being said in passing is a superb room, to see at least one time in one’s life I think).
And it is thus that this concert ends…on a remarkable duo between Lara and Mario!
There it is, I think to have been precise enough, I have detailed only the part of Lara for I imagine that it is the only thing that interests you but all the artists present this evening on stage were truly worth the trouble of being discovered and listened to…I truly passed a superb time.
However, I equally had the chance of seeing Lara arrive and leave.
At her arrival we were only two who waited for her (David a fan from Manchester and me), we approach, we exchanged some words with Lara, we took some photos, Lara signed some autographs and David asked her several questions to which she responded willingly.
As for her leaving, there were many more, it was very rapid, she is directly shown into her car from which she said goodbye to us through the window glass going away.
Some very pleasant memories engraved.
And to finish, here are some photos:

It would appear this was the very best that Lara and her fans could have hoped for, and will probably increase Lara’s confidence about performing in English speaking countries. So far no videos have appeared on the web – there don’t appear to be any yet for Mario Frangoulis, either.
Next, Lara is with Mario again, this time apparently in a true shared concert in Athens on the 24th. It will be interesting to see if their interaction leads anywhere…at the very least it might expand her venues for the ‘reprise’ album, which looks like it might have songs in different languages.
