On January 9th, Lara turned 38; happy birthday to her! Having a child means that her 'biological clock' is no longer the issue it once was...
Also this week Lara provided her new message on the official site, as discussed in another thread. In addition to the belated holiday greetings, of primary interest was her comment about continuing to write songs for a new album. Conspicuous by its absent was any mention of the Italian album, which continues to leave it in limbo. For that matter, the latest message was not translated into Italian for that section on the official site (we know that this has been the case with her messages for the last 8 months).
Lara discussed her Christmas experience in the message, but (as noted in the other thread), she purposely ignored the 500 pound guerilla in the middle of the room, with no mention of "Lou" or how Lara felt about finally having a child. Some people have applauded her for not capitalizing on this, but it is patently ridiculous for her to discuss the other things that made her Christmas happy (like what her Christmas tree was like) and not mention the main thing. How difficult would it have been to simply say she was happily enjoying her first Christmas with Lou? Similarly, in Farfallina 8, there is nothing about the prospective birth, and the pictures carefully hide the fact that she was pregnant. Lara mentioned once in an interview that whenever she tries to hide something, everybody knows that she is doing it, and she ends up looking foolish. That certainly applies here. [But, in a way, it is this very "human-ness" that makes her so appealing and enjoyable to follow.]
Lara also mentioned the conference/concert in Turkey that was discussed several weeks ago. A video of her performance of "Immortelle" is now available at several places on the web (on Alex's culturemp3.viabloga.com, and now also on Youtube). It's noticeable as her first post-partum performance and was well done; it emphasizes her desire to get back into the fray.
Ze Lamelle on Hezia's site also put some photos of the Istanbul show at rapidshare.com/files/83039277/capsistanbul.zip.html
Lara-fabian.net indicated that they will shortly have a full chronicle of this event, including exclusive information (which Lara may have revealed in the interview there) concerning the English (or multi-language) album, theatre and movie roles, etc. It will be interesting to see if the Italian album was mentioned. Regardless, we've learned by now that anything which may be predicted is only the expectation of the moment.
Lara appeared on French TV 5 which is broadcast in the U.S. and Canada on Saturday (to be repeated on Sunday). It was a performance of "Comme ils disent" on the Acoustic Show, which was recorded a year ago but this song was never aired. She looked and sounded wonderful. Still has some work to do to get back to that state after the baby…It is available on NABBOX. So this week in effect brought two 'new' videos (and in addition, on Youtube there is a video on the 'making of Neuf' that I hadn't seen before…).
