I was totally disgusted by the international release of the new single of Robbie Williams entitle Rude Box.
I am no fan of Robbie Williams, have never been and will never be. And if hee keeps making junk like this he will also loose his current fans. Driving home after work I heard the announcement on the radio about this song. The DJ made a huge deal about the song. The song isn't even close to the style Robbie's other songs and features only suggestive, vulgar lyrics accompanied by rap. Yes you heard right, Robbie rapped the whole song. After the song the radio station took some calls to hear people's comments. Only one caller said that it sounded funky and that she liked it (and she isn't even a Robbie fan). The other callers (only 4 calls were taken in the end) all said that the song sucked. Two of them were Robbie fans.
Two hours later they played a song (duo) by Cheryl Crow and Sting (I think the title is - I'll be by your side). WOW! Have you ever heard these two sing together. Their voices sounds really amazing together, they compliment each other very gracefully.
These two songs stood in contrast to each other. The only point I would like to make is why make such a huge fuss about a song that is not even welcomed by his current fanbase. If his first single release sounds like that, I won't even think of buying the rest of the album.
You tell me, do you think they will make such a huge fuss about Lara's new single release in September/October?
My guess..... No!

I am not a Robbie Williams fan either but he just released a song that I really like called "Advertising Space". I was thinking of buying his album, but I hate to buy an album for just one song. Thanks for the heads up. I guess I will not be buying it after all.
We all know how the radio stations work. Maybe Robbie's label paid them extra to promote him. LOL

I'm not a Robbie fan either. I bought his Greatest Hits because I really liked two of the songs I was familar with of his (there were also a couple I didn't like) but I soon realised that those two songs were the only two songs I liked. I really don't understand why he's so big in Europe. I won't be buying his latest album.
The two songs I really like of his are "Feel" and "Angels".

You know Paula I also actually found Advertising Space a very nice song. Feel is OK but I'm prejudiced with almost every Robbie song.
Leona did you say Robbie is big in Europe? I don't get this, Robbie is big in Europe and he did a tour only a couple of months ago in South Africa. Lara is HUGE in Europe, and I did not hear anyone in my country mention that it will be great to see her tour South Africa.
I guess it is a matter of Robbie making music for the masses and Lara making music for the selective music fan.
I may also add that rotten meat only attracts flies and the spring blossoms welcome the visit of the Butterfly.
