A light week for Lara publicly, following her Portugal concert last Sunday.
Concerning that concert, reports are now available, and apparently it was not a sterling success. Lara's repertoire was much the same as in Montreal, expect abbreviated; she sang five fewer songs, omitting some of the upbeat numbers, the Bambina segment, as well as Angel at the end. Asked later for an explanation, she mentioned that when she came out to sing Homericains at the beginning, her throat closed up due to the smoking that was allowed. Even though they tried to clear the air, this apparently affected her throughout. In addition, that repertoire as we know is mostly in French, a language not extensively used in Portugal. The audience (as noted by both fan chronicles and a review in a Lisbon paper), was pretty unresponsive; in fact, they didn't even call for encores. It was noted in all the reviews that she still sang very well, but apparently this was not sufficient to rouse the audience. [One also wonders whether the dinner beforehand could have contributed to some of the reported lethargy.] In retrospect, the problems could have been prevented with some forethought, and hopefully Lara will address them if she goes back for a third year.
Lara was featured with several news items (though not an interview) in the May-June issue of "Platine". It is the issue with Dalida on the cover (appropriately, since Lara has recently been compared with her, although in this case it would appear to be just a coincidence). Discussed in the magazine is the release of Un Cuore Malato/Un Cuore Blesse and Gigi d'Alessio's album release in France on May 28th; reprises by others that are being done of "I Will Love Again" and "Tout"; a pretty picture of Lara from "Les enfants de la tele", and also from "The Muppet Show". The latter has been dropped from its Sunday afternoon slot on TF1 because ratings have fallen drastically since its inception 10 weeks ago. These are available at

There are also two posters, one from each of those shows, included in the magazine;
Clothide on the official site has scanned them, available at

Lara looks great in them, but unfortunately they are back-to-back on the page, so it would be impossible to display both of them unless one buys two copies (or makes color copies).
While the single will not be out for two more weeks, the clip for Un Cuore Blesse is now available. Thanks go to *Un-ange-9* on Hezia's site, for the download at

It definitely shows Lara singing her portions in French (outside of the refrain) yet it doesn't appear to have been re-shot from the official Italian clip. The wonders of technology…
The major issue the coming week is whether Lara will actually show up at "Les Molieres" on Monday night, as she had indicated when interviewed in Canada. It was noted that she is not listed on their website; when she said she was invited, did that mean to be a presenter, to appear in a skit (as she implied) or just to be in the audience? From the messages on the various sites, one would conclude that Lara's audience is not very interested in French theatre, for they seemed to indicate that it would be torture to watch the program if Lara was not going to be there. The official site, as usual, has not responded to any questions concerning it.
No other events are listed - so if there are going to be appearances on Italian TV, we may find out at the last moment.
