Lara had no public appearances scheduled this week, and the main news concerned the announcement of several future events.
Lara is listed as one of the participants who will give a free concert associated with the Laurette Fuguain Association, May 20th. This is close to the time that Lara will be coming back from Nepal for her trip with the AMTM charity (also associated with health concerns), so some skepticism concerning her appearance would seem appropriate. It awaits confirmation on the official site (which might not come until shortly before the event even if she does show up).
What would appear to be higher probability is Lara's appearance in France June 7 with Gigi d'Alesio for the NRJ music tour, which also lists numerous other acts. It will be televised on France 2. Giving it greater credence is that it is an event being directed by G. Pullicino. Apparently Lara and Gigi will sing a French language version of "Un Cuore Malato", and this is not a one-time thing. The song (in French) will be distributed to radio stations and have a big push associated with it (starting in mid-June). To what end, one wonders, since there is no obvious album associated with it (and in France singles are generally used primarily to support albums).
This question is underlined because more news has appeared concerning the Italian album. According to "Charts in France", it is now due to be out in late Spring (i.e., not far from the time of the NRJ tour), and will not be made available (initially) in either France or Belgium. It's been pointed out that Lara's English language albums did not sell well in France, which might be a reason for not wanting a poor performance for the Italian album there [nevertheless, "Charts in France" felt it will eventually be pushed in those countries as well]. With the availability of Internet sales, it is probably less of an issue for people not in those countries, but it raises the question further of what the purpose of the French version of "Un Cuore Malato" is serving. One suggestion is that it is to introduce Gigi to the French audience, parallel to his introduction of Lara to Italians.
And in that regard: the single of 'Un Cuore Malato' has now moved to #1 on Radio Europe! I imagine if she is aware of it, this has made Lara's day (in addition to it being Easter Sunday).
Happy Easter/Spring to everybody.
