Lara spent most of this week at various venues in France performing with the Night of the Proms tour. Her repertoire seemed pretty much the same at each stop, including the half English-half Italian version of "Adagio", "Aime", "I'm So Excited", joining Tears for Fears for a song, and participating in the "All You Need is Love" ending. Videos of most of these are available on the web (e.g., Laradom) although I haven't seen the Tears for Fears duo. She's gotten excellent reviews, both from fans who went there to see her explicitly (and who seemed almost more concerned about getting their stuffed animals to her on stage, or seeing her before/after the show), as well as afficionados of the NOTP itself. As evident in the videos, Lara was in great voice and great spirits. This does seem like a perfect way to increase her support among those who haven't been to her own shows; as we know, there's nothing like seeing Lara live in person.
Several more interviews from Lara's Canadian trip last month became available or were aired this past week.
The interview on Salut Bonjour from Canada aired last Monday. Among other things, she was asked about her trip to Nepal (as sort of a follow-up on a question concerning Angelina Jolie's activities); mused about next singing a duet with her father (following the story about her telling her father at the age of 5 that she was a singer); and again expressed interest in a film career (following a discussion of the filming of Delovely). As usual in Quebec, she looked very relaxed.
In a 'celebrity' interview on "7 Jours en video" Lara was asked the question if she were a (blank) what would she be? You may remember that Lara played this game before, back for issue #1 of Farfallina (when they still were trying to have some intellectual content). Since her answers in this video interview appeared pretty spontaneous (although they could have given her the questions before-hand), it's interesting to see how consistent she was. Below are her current answers, and in brackets below the relevant subjects, are the ones she gave previously. (The full set of her answers from Nov/Dec 2005 were given on this site in the post of 4/16, pg. #5 currently of LaradomUS, under the heading Lara's interview in Farfallina 1).
color: white
season: autumn
["Indian summer in Quebec" and she specifically mentioned the palate of colors and fall fruits]
animal: butterfly
["a lion for her instinct of survival and her faculty of being a provider"]
song: voir un ami pleurer
[music: "tristesse by Chopin for the nostalgia that it conveys, it is the last method of having a hope… a disguised sadness".]
place: Quebec
["A chapel in a grotto situated in a small Sicilian town, Milazzo. At this place, one cannot make any distinction between the blue of the sky and of the sea."]
[and for country: "Italy, for its landscape, its culture, its heritage, its gastronomy and its language."]
element: the sea
["Fire, thanks to which, one can warm oneself, eat."]
secret: the love story between Frederic Chopin and George Sand
planet: Venus
adverb: always
No surprise that Lara is pretty inconsistent, although this is also the type of question where the response may be a function of one's current mood. Her choice of Quebec as THE place, for an interview given in Quebec, could certainly have been expected. One could guess that she almost certainly would have given the Italy answer if the question had been asked there.
And with respect to the Italian career, nais08 on the official site reported that the clip of the concert in Rome will be the official video release for "Un cuore malato" - based on the fact that Gigi announced it on stage with Lara standing beside him. Since the fans were very enthusiastic during the performance, the implication is that the clip will be wild. If you remember, it was also reported that Lara sang her portion in French, and if that's true, it's hard to see how it can really be the promo. (I would assume it's not true.) A great picture of Lara and Gigi from that concert is available on this website (thanks to annie on Hezia's site)

In addition to her performance on Sunday, Lara has three additional nights with NOTP this week. Her choices after that would seem to (1) go home, where she hasn't been for awhile; (2) resume the Italian promotion, and/or work on the Italian album; (3) return to Canada to outfit her new home, and prepare for the concert at the end of the month. We will see where her interests now lie.
