Lara added four more locales to her “Je t’aime” 2024 tour schedule, this time in Canada:
www.facebook.com/photo?fbid=934229148061379&set=a.259330805551220
Four locales but 7 concerts, as all except ‘Trois Rivieres’ feature two concerts back-to-back. This is a sign of increasing confidence for Lara, as in the past she has limited her ‘two concert’ venues to Montreal; this time she has two in Quebec City as well. However the real change is that one of the four venues is actually in Ottawa, at the National Arts Center. Named after the National Art Centre's founding general, G. Hamilton Southam, it is the largest and most majestic of their four performance halls. It seats 2,065, and again Lara has two concerts scheduled. She will see whether her reputation in English-speaking Canada proceeds her (at the very least, she’s found a promoter who believes that it does…].
One of (if not the) last times Lara gave a concert in English speaking Canada was 2014, in Toronto, at the Sony Centre for the Performing Arts (https://showoneproductions.ca/event/lara-fabian-live-concert/). As noted, it was in support of her album ‘Le Secret’, so they were predominantly French songs. She has also occasionally sung in Vancouver, again with mostly French songs. Some years ago Lara’s manager responded to the question of why she doesn’t alter her repertoire to include more English songs when she sings in English speaking countries (in her one appearance in London the setlist was again almost all French songs). He explained that for each song that Lara sings on stage, her backup band and singers have to have a certain number of rehearsal hours – she can’t just alter the setlist for particular venues without providing them that time (even if they actually know the songs well). Logistically it becomes too difficult to do that. The solution? If Lara knows she’s going to be singing in English speaking countries, or those where the audience knows more English than French, she could add more English speaking songs into her normal repertoire. While her audience in central and eastern Europe are familiar with her French songs, it is quite likely that they too know more English than French. Then again, the tour has a French name, and Lara even uses a French version of the name of the theatre in Ottawa in her advertisement, so probably one should not expect the concert to make any allowance for the audience. In what is hopefully not an indicator of audience interest, very few of the comments on Lara’s social media site even mentioned the appearance of Ottawa on the new concert poster.
Several articles about the tour dates appeared in the press in Canada, e.g., (https://www.noovomoi.ca/en-vedette/lara-fabian-nouvelle-tournee.html):

Lara Fabian announces great news
Lara Fabian announced fantastic news to her Quebec fans today: she's hitting the road again with a brand new show!
A few days after announcing her tour in Europe, the famous singer reveals the dates of her concerts in Quebec.
Lara Fabian will stop at Trois-Rivières, Montreal, Quebec and Ottawa next June. The name of this tour: Je t’aime.
In a press release issued today, it is explained that it is a large-scale show where the singer will revisit her greatest hits.
A best-of evening by Lara Fabian! Here is what we can read in the press release in question:
Lara Fabian invites spectators to dive into her captivating universe as part of the Je t’aime tour, an exceptional musical experience that celebrates her timeless songs. A true invitation to experience the magic of her captivating voice and to let yourself be carried away by melodies full of emotion! From “Je t’aime” to “Adagio,” each performance promises a unique musical journey through Lara Fabian’s illustrious career.
The tickets for the tour Je t’aime of Lara Fabian will go on sale this Friday, December 15 from 10 a.m.
-----------------------
‘Revisiting her greatest hits’ sounds every bit like a ‘best of tour’ simply with another name. The lure of such events is not the novelty of the setlist, but the novelty of Lara still being able to sing these songs so well as she gets older.
In a later post about the concerts, Lara posted her ‘tour picture’ without dates,
www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=935386024612358&set=a.259330805551220
with the caption “What a joy to see you again dear audience 🇨🇦, details of dates and tickets are now available on larafabian.com…the best is yet to come”. Gestev [the company in charge of the concerts] is then mentioned.
Selling tickets is what Lara’s URL is basically used for; otherwise, only a limited amount of effort has been put into it. For her music it transfers you to Spotify; for videos it provides her Youtube channel. It still indicates one can sign up for her essentially non-existent Newsletter. The ‘biography’ page has been ‘ditched’ (it was never kept up to date, and left the impression of someone who doesn’t care about the site). Nevertheless, this version is certainly practical, and better than nothing; you may remember, just four years ago, on going to the URL, one was told that the site was ‘not active’ (see the News Update of 7-30-19).
In honor of the tour news, the Lara Fabian Family FB site has some pictures of those who will be once again accompanying her on this new adventure, the Les Soeurs Riverin for backup and Manu Pitois as Producer, among others, all oof whom can be seen at

In other news, a nice promo for the show “DREAM TEAM – LA RELÈVE DES STAR” can be found at
www.facebook.com/watch/?v=740058034837989
in which Lara appears several times. An article about its upcoming broadcast can be found at:

Dream Team: the next generation of stars is arriving very soon on TF1
Do you like talent shows, especially if the candidates are children? The show Dream Team is finally settling down on TF1!
Why you need to watch Dream Team
Who will have the last word?
Music has always succeeded in softening morales. Sad or happy, hearing the latest hit from our favorite artist helps calm all situations. With the imminent return of Star Academy or the multiple twists and turns of The Voice, TF1 seems to love to tickle the heartstrings of the housewife.
And for good reason, how can you not become attached to a candidate? As soon as he or she begins to sing and show what he or she is capable of to complete the adventure, the viewers and jurors melt like snow in the sun. As we just mentioned in the introduction, Dream Team should necessarily appeal to music lovers but not just them…
By looking more closely at the press release provided by TF1, we realize that 4 of the jurors have one thing in common. Whether it's Jenifer, Camille Lellouche or Matt Pokora and Claudio Capéo, they are candidates for musical shows. As for the other two, they have enough perspective to be able to bring their talents to victory. Besides, did you know that Lara Fabian was both in the red chair, but also director of the Star Academie in Canada? In other words, this small world intends to compete in ingenuity to reach the top. From the audition to the coaching, these 6 “mentors“ should transmit their knowledge and experience to all participants of a "Dream Team". In these conditions, it would be impossible to fail!
We already can't wait to see the images
In specifying the rating criteria, the production of Dream Team sets the bar very high. “ Vocal performance, stage performance, team cohesion, everything will count!” In other words, it is not enough to imitate the dance steps perfectly by Matt Pokora, to have a vocal signature like Jenifer or Lara, to know how to play several instruments like Claudio, to have fun on stage like Camille Lellouche or to know how to write like Black M. Nay!
TF1 will launch a new talent show called “Dream Team: the next generation of stars”.
This program will welcome children between 8 and 14 years old who will compete in teams with star coaches.
Hélène Mannarino will be at the presentation pic.twitter.com/LnDOqNXWTl
— Médias France (@mediasfrance) May 2, 2023
Candidates in short pants will have to have several strings to their bow. By hitting the bull's eye on each show, they should gain the trust of the public, and consequently, that of the mentors. The icing on the cake, as the photo above proves, there will be surprise guests. Here again, it's up to you to make the link with previous seasons of musical reality TV.
Friend reader of Mag-Feminin, you are probably wondering when you will be able to discover this colorful casting? Well, we'll probably have to wait until next year. After StarAcademy, The Voice Kids should make its comeback. In short, Dream Team, is one of the most anticipated little surprises of 2024. I promise, as soon as we know a little, we will keep you informed as a priority. Continued in our next issue!
------------------------------
When it was originally announced, the indication was that it would air towards the end of 2023. Apparently that has been pushed back. The Voice Kids has been publicly scheduled for the summer of 2024 – the article implies it may have moved up. We’ll see what the situation really ends up being.
Lara posted a reel on her Instagram Stories site, subsequently ‘saved’ by the Lara Fabian Family FB site at
www.facebook.com/reel/1056374352151949
In it Lara praises the performance of Simone on the semifinals of the Voice Kids on Italian TV program, calling it profound, fantastic, saying he has a unique talent; he sang Adagio. Simone’s appearance can be seen at
www.youtube.com/watch?v=GabMgSynJHg
He certainly hit all the notes; in two days the video has 295K views, which is not only wonderful publicity for him but also for Lara in Italy. [He’s 11 years old, and eventually his voice will change. One will then see how well he can do it…].
Interesting photo(s)/video(s) of the week: This is the last News Update before Christmas, and so this section will be devoted to Christmas-oriented material. First, Lara led off this week with the following picture,
www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=937508144400146&set=a.259330805551220
and the caption, “It's that time of the year❄️one last busy week ... I'll tell you more soon, the best is yet to come.” Presumably the busy last week will also include Christmas preparations…
As noted last week, the Lara Fabian The Netherlands FB site has various Lara pictures and videos associated with Christmas, including Lara’s singing of the song White Christmas and associated pictures.

Lara represents a spark of light in what may seem like an overall conflicted world, something the holiday season also represents. May it be a healthy and happy one for Lara, and for all of you.
