Two news items vie for the top spot for Lara this past week, with very different time horizons. First, Lara made her appearance on the TV program “Chanson Secrete” (The Secret Song) where she sang “Je t’aime”. She put some pictures of herself presumably rehearsing on the social media sites, at
www.facebook.com/photo?fbid=928483685302592&set=pcb.928483918635902
with the caption, “Back to work. The best is yet to come.”
As the program notes proclaim: “On "La Chanson Secrete", several well-known public figures are invited to sit in an armchair to discover the wonderful surprise that awaits them. This surprise is a song. One of their loved ones or friends will come and perform a song that particularly touches them. Obviously, the star knows absolutely nothing about what is going to happen, nor who is going to arrive on the set in front of her, just like the spectators. Very often, guests are stressed and impatient to find out what awaits them, leading to a very touching moment when they discover the famous surprise.”

Lara then came to provide one of the surprises. The video of her appearance itself can be seen (again other places) at

The description given on youtube says it all:
-----------------------
Lara Fabian performs "Je t'aime" live, joined by Gérard Darmon, Anabel, and friends in a tribute to the French actress Camille Lellouche at the tv show "La Chanson Secrète." The performance is set against a Parisian café backdrop, a nod to Camille's early days as a waitress.
About the TV show "La Chanson Secrète": The show featured eight guest artists who are unaware of the surprises planned for them. Each artist discovers a cherished song, reinterpreted by another performer in a unique and emotional setup. The performances also involve close friends and special guests, to create memorable and intimate musical moments for the guests.

To get a true appreciation of Lara’s performance it’s best to watch the lead-up and follow-up on the show which can be seen, thanks to the Lara Fabian Family FB site, at

Lara’s performance was very powerful, and it elevated the show immensely.
Before the program Lara noted that “a point in common I think is her way of approaching despair without allowing it to lack light, that’s what I love about Camille.”
She then went on to say that her song to Camille was a declaration of love to her.
In the follow-up Lara said, “She is someone I admire enormously. I know that she said that I had counted in some way for her but she did not know how much she has counted for me in these last years. Very well as you can see in reality. She is a women of exception and it was a real privilege to be here for you tonight.’
The rest of this story is admittedly off-topic, though obviously related. There was a follow-up article to the show in ‘Tele-Loisirs’ (https://www.programme-tv.net/news/people/341779-il-ne-faut-pas-etre-dans-le-deni-camille-lellouche-evoque-sans-langue-de-bois-son-alcoolisme-passe-et-le-mal-etre-qui-la-provoque/):

“We must not be in denial”: Camille Lellouche speaks without tongue in cheek about her past alcoholism and the “unhappiness” that caused it
Camille Lellouche was this Saturday, December 2 the guest of RTL's Unexpected Journal. Journalist Nathalie Renoux did not hesitate to talk about her complicated past, particularly the moment when she fell into alcohol.
This weekend, Camille Lellouche is essential. The day after her participation in La Chanson Secrete on TF1 this Friday, December 1 where she was surprised by Lara Fabian, the singer revealed in The Voice was the guest of RTL's Unexpected Journal. “At one point in your life, it was difficult. You were a little damaged, you went out, you also drank,” journalist Nathalie Renoux asked her, referring to comments made during the show of Frédéric Lopez, A Sunday in the countryside, last January on France 2. “That’s how I damaged myself, because, well, going to bed late, it tires you, it gives you dark circles, but that’s not what damages you,” replied the one who is now a mother of family.
In the middle of an interview, Camille Lellouche admits to having been an “alcoholic”
“Would you say you were an alcoholic?”, relaunched Nathalie Renoux. “Well yes, it’s called alcoholism. When you drink all the time, you just have to admit it,” Camille Lellouche said frankly. "In France, it's hard to talk about this kind of thing, but from the moment you work, you go out, you drink and you do that 7 days a week, you're an alcoholic. You shouldn't be in denial at that time ,” she assured on RTL. “Suddenly, you suffer, because obviously you can no longer go to bed without having had a drink,” said the 37-year-old artist.
Camille Lellouche: alcoholism the result of a lack of recognition?
"I was not recognized as an artist. I spent almost ten years in restoration. I worked a lot, a lot, a lot. So, it's a very beautiful profession. It's the school of life. It taught me a lot of things, but I wasn't doing what I loved deeply, so it's hard," tried to explain the woman who was a waitress at the brasserie La Terrasse des Archives for a long time. "And then, it's hard to serve people that you deeply admire with whom you want to sit down, talk with them, say: 'Okay, I want to make a film with you, or sing with you. So, it’s disturbing,” added the woman who considers herself a former “alcoholic. Before concluding: "We don't want to be in their place. We just want to have our place." The singer who now has her place will perform in particular at the Salle Pleyel, in Paris, on January 19 and 20.
------------------------------
Of course we know Lara had her own problems with the pressures of this field, in her case in the form of an eating disorder which it took her a long time to escape from. The phrase “All that glitters is not gold” comes to mind…
The second major story concerns Lara’s upcoming tour. We saw last week that she had scheduled a concert in Zagreb, Croatia. It turns out that it was just the tip of the iceberg for appearances throughout eastern Europe. The tour will have a new name: the “Je t’aime” tour 2024. Seven dates so far have been signed off on for eastern Europe; ticket links can be found on Lara’s URL, at (https://larafabian.com/), and are for Prague (Czech Republic), Chisinau (Moldavia), Bucharest and Cluj in Romania, Istanbul (Turkey), Plovdiv (Bulgaria) and then Zasgreb (Croatia). These will extend from April 17-29. It would seem likely that the tour will expand greatly, for it’s unlikely that Lara would come up with a whole new tour for just this one segment of her audience.
The new picture for the tour can be seen at

Lara’s Instagram reel showing the tour sites can be found at
www.facebook.com/100087078295806/videos/852837003292196/
As to what songs will be featured: whatever the tour is called, “Je t’aime” would always be there anyway, and obviously more so in a tour with its name. The tour name may also suggest a focus on her older songs, and if so, it won’t be a great deal different from her recent past tours (regardless of the name change). On the other hand, if the tour really is focusing on ‘Love’, including love for her audience, then Lara has many other songs, both older and younger, that could get their chance in the spotlight. [We say this often for each new tour; generally only a few different songs get added...]
Already articles about the tour are appearing from the commercial concert sites involved, for example for the concert in Prague (https://www.o2universum.cz/en/the-recognized-world-class-diva-lara-fabian-is-returning-to-prague-after-five-years-after-previous-hopelessly-sold-out-concerts-he-will-perform-at-the-o2-universe/). The following is the first paragraph of their long promo for Lara: "She previously chose our metropolis for the filming of an official DVD. Don’t miss not only the thunderous applause right from the first notes of the song “Je t’aime”, but also the unrivaled atmosphere that makes Lara Fabian’s concerts unforgettable."
This is not all… according to the Lara Fabian est ton autre FB site, “Lara is preparing nice surprises for us, a single and an album but also a nice collaboration for the year 2024 🥰 This one will be absolutely fabianesque ❤️”

Maybe there will be more of this energy on her new tour.
Lara is most likely getting back into the holiday mood, though where that will take place for her is still a question. After that it appears she has many plans for 2024 – hopefully they will actually happen.
