A few random videos/stories from this week, as we are deep into the summer doldrums. Lara provided another Instagram ‘story’ reel which featured her sashaying around in a white dress with the caption “White mood” to her song ‘Growing Wings”. At the time of this writing, it is available at

Lara Fabian the Netherlands FB site has various pictures of Lara from the story, at

They also noted she had chosen the white dress in the Instagram reel from a few weeks ago (https://www.instagram.com/reel/Cu4i04bssVN/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA%3D%3D&fbclid=IwAR0nGEJKklkit6x7wVis8y5nV0aJUsiJaKcRHKcrdi51NUhAs42C7J6Jb1Y)
Lara also included @tods referring to Tod’s luxury leather goods, shoes, bags, etc. Its home page is

Overlooked in last week’s update was Lara’s involvement in another upcoming European venture. Here’s the announcement as shown by the Lara Fabian Family FB site,
noting that Lara will be present and perform at the next edition of the: "Global gift gala", which will be held on September 30, 2023 in Paris:

“A benefit gala for the Global Gift Foundation, a non-profit philanthropic organization that aims to create a positive impact on the lives of children, women and families in need.”
This of course will be her second event with Eva Longoria for this charity in a little over a month, a sign of their close friendship (and the fact that they are both in Europe).
An article in Gala devoted to Carla Bruni (https://www.gala.fr/l_actu/news_de_stars/vous-ne-serez-pas-decus-carla-bruni-partage-une-belle-nouvelle-aupres-de-ses-fans_527063) is relevant to us here because she was praising the upcoming album of duets with Florent Pagny, saying “You will not be disappointed”. As noted in the article, “Singer Florent Pagny recorded the album 2 Bis. Composed of covers of his greatest titles, the latter will be available from September 1st. For this return to the studio, the interpreter of ‘Ma liberté’ thought to surround himself with big names in French song. In addition to Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, we can cite: Pascal Obispo , Vianney, Marc Lavoine, Zazie, Patrick Fiori, Lara Fabian, Slimane, Amel Bent, Kendji and Christophe Maé, among others, reported Nostalgia.”
And it’s not just an album release. According to an article at (https://www.reportagesphotos.fr/people/6932-florent-pagny-icone-de-la-chanson-francaise-cet-hommage-poignant-de-tf1/), “Florent Pagny, icon of French song, will be honored during an unforgettable evening, surrounded by friends and artists who have marked his career and his life. The singer will revisit his exceptional repertoire with 22 emblematic titles during a unique concert. It's soon on TF1 and MYTF1”. Lara will be one of the guests participating.
For those who weren’t aware, this is the second album of duets from Florent Pagny; the first was called “2”, which came out in 2001. Comparing the two track lists, the artists who appeared on both (and hence were around for these two albums) are: Patrick Bruel; Pasco Obispal; Marc Lavoine; Calogero; and of course Lara. Of these five, only Lara (with Et maintenant) and Calogero (with Chatelet Les Halles) are singing the same song. Several other songs are repeated with different singers: Savoir Aimer; Chanter; Et un jour, une femme.
If one wonders why those songs are repeated, they were almost all popular sellers of his. Florent Pagny’s best selling songs (according to Wikipedia) are: “N’importe quoi” (duet on the 2023 release with Patrick Bruel), “Savoir aimer” and “Ma liberte de penser” (duet in 2023 with Amel Bent, and it only appeared after the first album, in 2003). All three reached #1 in France. Et un jour, une femme reached #3, Chanter #16, Chatelet Les Halles #45. Of the duplicated songs, only Lara’s was not released as a single. One may question why she chose to repeat it (if it was her choice); while it is a beautiful song, it would have been nice to hear her do a different number, since that duet already exists (and at least one of the participants likely had a better voice ).

Nothing special about this youtube video except that it celebrates ‘Mama maya’ as one of Lara’s greatest hits.

In quality it is, but it is sadly undervalued, a contributing factor being that Lara chose not to include it on the European version of ‘Mademoiselle Zhivago’.

As you’ve probably noticed, there are fewer Lara sites still operating (in a frequent mode). They’ve been affected by Lara’s lack of professional engagements, such as albums, tours, TV shows and interviews. So the number of sources for ‘interesting’ Lara pictures (in particular) is limited. As you probably all know, there are only a few fan sites that have been consistently putting in the effort to keep Lara’s fan interests alive. To put this in perspective, and acknowledging that Lara is under no obligation to keep in touch with her fans – there are many well-known singers who rarely do it - in 2023 Lara has placed 16 posts on her FB page, 31 on her permanent Instagram page, and probably a bit more on her Instagram ‘stories’. In contrast (and excluding a few private sites which have many posts per week): in this past week alone, the Lara Fabian America FB site had 19 posts; the Lara Fabian The Netherlands FB site had 14 (mostly many-part) posts; Lara Fabian Family had 7 posts on FB, with additional ones on youtube, X (Twitter) and TikTok. [Of course, this site had only one post ].
There are still plenty of ‘reaction’ videos on youtube, and videos of Lara’s past performances or her songs backing videos, and that’s where the energy is strong and growing; in the past week there are more than 50 of them on youtube. Only occasionally are they unique enough to call them out here.
On the short term, just like it’s darkest before the dawn, it’s always quietest before ‘La rentree’. Come September, as noted in the various items in this update, there will be an album release including Lara’s duet with Florent Pagny, and an accompanying TV show. She will again be at the Global Gift Gala with Eva Longoria in Paris, and will probably have some other professional activities in France. And this is all before the airing of her reality TV kid’s show later in the year, and the promotion for that.
Lara’s been continually in Europe basically all of 2023. There was an old World War I song entitled “How Ya Gonna Keep 'em Down on the Farm (After They've Seen Paree)? Although it isn’t her “first rodeo” in France, the (potential) relevance is hard to miss.
