The Bel RTL program concerning Lara last week crowned “Lara’s biggest” fan, and the ‘Lara Fabian The Netherlands’ FB site provided a link to the Bel RTL picture of him holding his ‘prize’, with ‘Ma vie dans la tienne’ written on it, appropriately!

It says something of the state of affairs that this one of the lead stories this week!
While Lara may not be on any of the TV reality shows at this time, her presence is still felt; the Lebanese actress Marilyne Namman performed a particularly intriguing version of ‘Je suis malade’ on the French version of ‘The Voice’ this past week, as can be seen at
www.youtube.com/watch?v=iLRCDUEm-L0
While the youtube video recognizes it as a song by Serge Lama (and, in reality, Alice Dona), the news reports referred to it with reference to Lara, as in this from TF1: “The Voice 2023 - Marilyne, Lebanese actress, becomes anonymous again to hope to seduce coaches. Next Saturday evening, she will perform "Je suis malade" by Lara Fabian.” Lara has become so identified with the song that the public knows it through her. The same is also true of other well-known singers; for example, the song “The Way We Were” is routinely called “Barbra Steisand’s song, although it was written by Alan Bergman, Marilyn Bergman, and Marvin Hamlisch. This is so common it’s would seem hardly worth mentioning, except for the fact that there are many other songs that Lara actually did write (and are associated with her), and generally you don’t see a mixture of both covers and original songs associated with an artist. It’s also somewhat strange in Lara’s case because she doesn’t really sing that many covers, though a few others are reaching that status – occasionally one sees Lara’s name mentioned with respect to Caruso (though here she has more competition – like Pavorotti!).
The Lara Fabian Connecting People site noted that Manu Pitois, who was heavily involved in Lara’s recent tour, has updated his website with interesting photos of the tour. It can be found at
www.manupitois.com/general-5
To clarify his interaction with Lara, from a purely professional point of view, here are the tours he participated in, either as a musician and/or musical director, and an album:
Tours
2022 -2023 Lara Fabian Best of World Tour Piano Keyboards Musical Direction
2019-2020 Lara Fabian 50 World Tour Piano Keyboards Musical Direction
2013-2014 Le Secret Tour Piano Keyboards Musical Direction
2009-2010 Toutes les Femmes en Moi Font leur SHOW Piano Keyboards Musical Direction
2005 Un Regard 9 Piano
Album
2013 Le Secret Production, Arrangements, Orchestration, Programming
And this does not include his numerous appearances for Lara on piano on TV shows and special events, nor the friendship the two have established and maintained over at least the last two decades.
In conjunction with that, the Lara Fabian est ton autre FB site posted the following pictures, wishing Manu Pitois a happy birthday (his 54th):

This leads directly to the designated ‘Interesting photo(s)/video(s) of the week’:
A reaction video to Lara singing ‘Papa Can You Hear Me/Piece of Sky’ from the televised PURE concert can be found at:

In some alternate universe, Lara would get widespread credit for her performance of that Yentl medley in that show. Nice to see a reaction video to it – it was so good, the music teacher listening to it really had little to say, except how amazing it was and how much emotion was put into it.
Actually, there have recently been reaction videos to some other Lara performances, outside the ‘usual suspects’; for example:
Je M'arrêterai Pas De T'aimer: www.youtube.com/watch?v=foHc7L2aPGg
Tu T'en Vas (the recent performance with Margau): www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Sg2r9Q-GTg

Wind Beneath My Wings: www.youtube.com/watch?v=nf0jlAacI8k

It’s fair to say that people creating youtube reaction videos of Lara’s singing are putting some of the most energy currently into promoting Lara…
The Lara Fabian Family FB site posted this unique picture of Lara,

The Lara Fabian America FB site put a link to Lara’s concert in Armenia some ten years ago, at
www.youtube.com/watch?v=ws70a3QwHks
It provides a perspective on how the setlist has changed, relative to her recent 'best of' concerts. Of the 13 songs sung then, seven did not appear recently, and those don’t seem likely to appear in any future ones. Many of Lara's original recent songs have a very brief concert 'shelf life'.
They also provided a particularly compelling picture of Lara, at

While Lara has not been active recently on Instagram, a number of fan sites have been. Of particular notice is the larafabianfans Instagram site, e.g.,
It has close to 6500 posts; in comparison, Lara’s site has a little less than 1000. Other sites of note are:
Larafabian forever (5000 posts); larafabian papillon (4300); Larafabian family (3000); larafabianjetaime (3000); larafabianlove (2200) and larafabiancp(2000).
The Lara Fabian, Par Amour FB site continually has interesting pictures of Lara; they are not linked to here because they are not available to everybody, given that one has to petition the site for entry. The point of mentioning this is just to note their existence, if someone wants to pursue it further.
One hopes that Lara’s absence from public media is due to her focusing on ‘not ready for prime time projects’, rather than anything less benign. A few times in the past when this has happened it involved health issues (as detailed to some extent in her book). No indication of that now. In the same spirit: stay safe, everybody,
David
