Lara found a reason to return to social media this past week by highlighting her good friend Eva Longoria’s birthday, on both Lara's Facebook and Instagram pages:

with the caption “Happy birthday to one of the most special woman on this earth …. @evalongoria”
While this is not a particularly noteworthy birthday for Eva Longoria, as she is now 48 years old, Lara has occasionally celebrated the day on her social media site; she didn’t comment on it last year, but in 2021 she did, with the following on Instagram,
The current post elicited over 8 thousand 'likes' and some 800 highly creative Happy Birthday comments for Eva – on Lara’s FB site – whereas if Lara had not posted this, it’s unlikely many of Lara’s fans would have noticed it. One component of this may be the fan’s pent up desire to communicate with Lara, given her lack of social media interactions this year.
Though Lara didn’t mention it, Eva Longoria has been in the news recently. In what is most obviously on off-topic discussion, she’s been involved in controversy associated with her recent interview on the CNN/HBO Max talk show 'Who’s Talking To Chris Wallace?'. As explained in an article at (https://www.pajiba.com/web_culture/when-keeping-it-real-goes-wrong-eva-longoria-vs-eric-braeden.php), here’s a bit of the discussion:
---------------------------
This past weekend, actress-producer-director Eva Longoria was interviewed on the CNN/HBO Max talk show Who’s Talking To Chris Wallace?, where she discussed motherhood, her refusal to pursue political office, and her two upcoming projects: Eva Longoria: Searching for Mexico, a CNN docuseries in which she travels around Mexico for a deep exploration of the country’s cuisine and culture and Flamin’ Hot, her feature directorial debut about Richard Montañez, and his claim that he is the inventor of Flamin’ Hot Cheetos.
Longoria also discussed her history as an actress on the long-running soap opera The Young and the Restless, and how her role as Isabella Braña didn’t pay her nearly enough, which required her to take on a second job as a headhunter for a temp employment agency. From The Daily Mail:
‘I was so good at it that when I got Young and the Restless, it didn’t pay enough for me to live off being an actor. So I continued being a headhunter and Young and the Restless.’
She then revealed that she, ‘would hide the fact that I was on Young and the Restless to my clients, because they, you know, they didn’t want like a dumb actress handling their accounts.’
Eric Braden, an actor on ‘The Young and the Restless’ for over four decades had this response:
“Eva Longoria: You just made derogatory remarks about daytime actors! You simply weren’t good enough to survive the pressures of this medium! You were very lucky to get on that “housewife” show! You did one show in 8-12 days, with mediocre but salacious dialogue! Our actresses would run rings around you! And they did then! From Robert di Nero to whoever they all are, many of them started in the medium you denigrate! It shows a complete lack of class!”
---------------------------
There were a few people who came to Longoria’s defense, with some of them tweeting to Braeden that he was being harsh towards her, and misinterpreted what she said as an insult to The Young and the Restless, and to actresses on soap operas, when it was really the complete opposite of that. Instead of insulting the actresses, it seemed she was really commenting on how biased people are against daytime TV actresses.
Regardless, as noted in the article, and discussed more at (https://cnnpressroom.blogs.cnn.com/2023/03/20/how-to-watch-cnn-original-series-premiere-of-eva-longoria-searching-for-mexico-on-sunday-march-26-at-10pm-et-pt-on-cnn/), “the CNN Original Series will premiere Eva Longoria: Searching for Mexico on Sunday, March 26 at 10pm ET/PT on CNN. The series will regularly air on Sundays at 9pm ET/PT… The six-part series follows award-winning actress, producer, director and activist Eva Longoria across the many vibrant regions of Mexico, revealing its unique and colorful cuisines.”
You probably remember Lara and Eva posed as a lesbian couple in photographs by Olivier Ciappa to champion the message of love of all kinds between people (e.g., www.etonline.com/news/180863_eva_longoria_poses_lesbian_relationship_for_love_is_love), and Lara has participated in several of her charity events. A video of the two friends kissing at 'fashion week' a few months ago can be found at

The Lara Fabian Family FB site noted that Lara would be featured on Bel RTL 3/20, on a show called ‘Ou sont les fans?’; they accompanied this with a promo picture, at
www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=161942083385067&set=a.119466624299280
On the Bel RTL FB page, they posted the following: “Are you Lara Fabian’s biggest fan? To participate, send an SMS text with the word FAN to 6679 (0.55 Euros).”
The show did take place, with the emphasis on Lara’s songs and some fans, with occasional inserted comments from Lara. It can be found at
www.youtube.com/watch?v=9bUINKOngdA
One interesting component is that they didn’t focus solely on the early part of her career and featured snippets of a wide variety of her music. A nice celebration of Lara from her country of birth.
Last week it was noted that Lara is still trying to sell her villa in Quebec. Various websites (e.g., www.legossip.net/lara-fabian-une-douloureuse-separation-revelation-sur-son-epreuve/576767/) declared that she is no longer living there, and had packed up her belongings in boxes awaiting a new place to firmly land. The comments included that “This departure was a real emotional shock for Lara Fabian”. Take the truth of that as you will; the move and attempt to sell was apparently voluntary.

Videos with a square aspect ratio are also accepted."
Sunday March 19 is Father’s Day in Italy, and the Lara Fabian Family FB site honored it with pictures of Lara and her father, at

They also celebrated Gerard Pullicino, father of Lou, and Gabriel, the ‘acting’ father “who loves her very much”.

Very cute idea!
Whether Lara is truly ready to increase her engagement with her public remains to be seen, but this past week was a start. Stay safe, everybody,
