Now that Lara’s “summer abroad” is over, and there are no remaining concerts for ‘Camouflage’, she is fully engaged in activities in Quebec. As an example, Lara posted a quite appealing picture of herself on her FB site, at
www.facebook.com/larafabianofficial/photos/a.622966977744803/2278766452164839/?type=3&theater
with the caption, “On the way to a shoot, dressed by my friend Fernanda Sousa (for MONTAGNE / Montreal)"
It seems Lara will be doing a fashion advertisement for this store; here’s a discussion of it (http://dresstokillmagazine.com/montagne-fashionable-pop-store-city/):
-------------------------------------------------------------
Montagne: The Most Fashionable Pop Up Store in The City
Marie-Ève Venne 2016/12/18
Montreal’s got style and now there is one more player in the fashion scene to prove it.
Betina Holte, former designer and muse for Zac Posen, has teamed up with Montrealers Fernanda Sousa (Aldo and Reitman’s group) and Denise Arab to launch a fashion clothing collection. The predominantly black on black line has a punk chic vibe that speaks to a woman who would never compromise their personal vision of style in the name of fashion.
To add more to the excitement, the team decided to open a Pop Up store on Rue de la Montagne in Montreal. Simply named MONTAGNE the boutique is a luxurious “woman cave” offering BETINA HOLTE, Montreal based DOMREBEL and Malene Birger. Not in the mood for clothes shopping? MONTAGNE also carries edgy Betina Holte jewelry, a home collection featuring black Eco candles, black soap and a range of black pottery designed by Betina and renown local potter Trudy Crane.

One could say that Lara fits the description of someone “who would never compromise their personal vision of style in the name of fashion”. As we know, often Lara didn’t seem to care much about fashion in her concerts, dressing quite casually. However, back in Quebec, and on TV under the watchful eye of TVA, she seems to have become more fashion-conscious. Lara as ‘punk chic’ would seem to now be an appropriate description of her for the Quebecois.
And in that regard, one additional, beautiful picture, was posted of what appears to be Lara being tended to by her hairdresser, at:

This time the caption was more thoughtful, “Have you ever heard the wonderful silence just before dawn? (Norton Juster)”. This quote actually comes from “The Phantom Tollbooth”; here’s the full, wonderful quote:
----------------------------------------------------------
“Have you ever heard the wonderful silence just before the dawn? Or the quiet and calm just as a storm ends? Or perhaps you know the silence when you haven't the answer to a question you've been asked, or the hush of a country road at night, or the expectant pause of a room full of people when someone is just about to speak, or, most beautiful of all, the moment after the door closes and you're alone in the whole house? Each one is different, you know, and all very beautiful if you listen carefully.”
― Norton Juster, The Phantom Tollbooth
------------------------------------------------------------
Carrying this a bit further, for those who aren’t familiar with that book, here’s the Wikipedia discussion:
-----------------------------------------------------------
The Phantom Tollbooth is a children's fantasy adventure novel written by Norton Juster with illustrations by Jules Feiffer, published in 1961 by Random House (USA). It tells the story of a bored young boy named Milo who unexpectedly receives a magic tollbooth one afternoon and, having nothing better to do, drives through it in his toy car, transporting him to the Kingdom of Wisdom, once prosperous but now troubled. There, he acquires two faithful companions and goes on a quest to restore to the kingdom its exiled princesses—named Rhyme and Reason—from the Castle in the Air. In the process, he learns valuable lessons, finding a love of learning. The text is full of puns and wordplay, such as when Milo unintentionally jumps to Conclusions, an island in Wisdom, thus exploring the literal meanings of idioms.
In 1958, Juster had received a Ford Foundation grant for a children's book about cities. Unable to make progress on that project, he turned to writing what became The Phantom Tollbooth, his first book. His housemate, Feiffer, a cartoonist, interested himself in the project. Jason Epstein, an editor at Random House, bought the book and published it. The book received rave reviews and has sold in excess of three million copies, far more than expected. It has been adapted into a film, opera, and play, and translated into many languages.
Though the book is on its face an adventure story, a major theme is the need for a love of education; through this, Milo applies what he has learned in school, advances in his personal development, and learns to love the life that previously bored him. Critics have compared its appeal to that of Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and to L. Frank Baum's The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
---------------------------------------------------------
If Lara hadn't seen it previously, it is the type of book she would encounter with Lou...
These two picture posts followed an earlier one, which had the caption “Steadicam..? Guess for who and why?"
www.facebook.com/larafabianofficial/photos/a.622966977744803/2277742122267272/?type=3&theater
While Lara may well have answered her own question with her subsequent posts, there are other choices as to what the “Steadicam” was for. Suggestions offered by many who wrote in was that it concerned the new French album – either for album photos, or perhaps a video clip of the first single – and the latter is what the Lara Fabian -PHQ site indicated is being filmed. If true, given the length of time from filming to final production, and the likely desire to release a video somewhat in conjunction with the actual single release, we probably shouldn’t expect the single much before November.
Alternatively, it could be associated with La Voix. And in fact, yesterday the program did officially ‘reveal’ the four coaches under the heading “An Exceptional Quartet for the Coming Season of La Voix: LARA FABIAN, ÉRIC LAPOINTE, ALEX NEVSKY et MARC DUPRÉ! (http://tva.canoe.ca/emissions/lavoix/nouvelle/un-quatuor-exceptionnel-pour-la-prochaine-saison-de-la-voix-lara-fabian-eric-lapointe-alex-nevsky-et-marc-dupre?backlinkurl=/emissions/lavoix/&backlinklabel=Ergbhe+%C3%A0+y%27npphrvy). We’ve read this already, but for completeness, the article continues:
---------------------------------------------
The 2019 edition of La Voix promises to be epic with the return of four luminous artists in the famous red armchairs of the show. TVA, Québecor Content and Productions Surfers are very happy to be able to count on the infinite talent of Lara Fabian, Éric Lapointe, Alex Nevsky and Marc Dupré for the next edition, which will take off next winter.
After a short absence of one year, the sympathetic king of the charts Marc Dupré will once again find with enthusiasm the studio he loves so much, surrounded by another uncontestable veteran, the living legend of rock Éric Lapointe. Welcomed with open arms last season, Lara Fabian, the star with the golden advice, and Alex Nevsky, the prodigious collector of success, will be equally impressed by the inexhaustible source of talent that La Voix will make them discover. These four references of music are ready to make us live another season of great emotion, in search of the new voice of Quebec!

And more on La Voix:
"Adisq | This year again, La Voix is in the running for the 'Félix of the Show of the year - music'. Congratulations to all artists and artisans!

Continuing with her now ‘hometown” theme, Lara will be receiving an award at the 29th annual SOCAN Gala in Montreal, on October 2nd. Here’s the (translated) discussion of the parts that concern Lara (https://www.newswire.ca/fr/news-releases/le-gala-de-la-socan-devoile-ses-premiers-laureats--692951361.html):
---------------------------------------------------------

Host Pierre-Yves Lord will share his passion for music throughout the show while an orchestra led by the talented and colorful Antoine Gratton will highlight the importance of the awards that will be given to the composers of music on screen, to the songwriters and music publishers who have had the most success during the year.
The SOCAN Award of Excellence will be presented to the great lady of the country , Renée Martel , while the Songwriter of the Year Award goes to Patrice Michaud , who had an outstanding year.
This year, the SOCAN Classics will conjugate in the feminine as they will highlight outstanding works by Marjo , Francine Raymond , Laurence Jalbert , Marie Carmen , Lara Fabian and Hart Rouge . The SOCAN Cultural Footprint Award will be presented to Michel Rivard for the song “La complainte du phoque en Alaska” first recorded by Beau Dommage, a group inducted into the 2017 Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame. This work has left a deep and indelible imprint here and abroad.
…
"Since its inception, the SOCAN Gala reflects the diversity of musical genres and the excellent work of its creative members and music publishers," said SOCAN CEO Eric Baptiste . "Especially this year, SOCAN women reach new heights, and the number of SOCAN Classics awarded to songwriters and composers reflects the fact that women members of SOCAN have achieved a success at least equal to that of their male colleagues. "
The outstanding work of SOCAN music publishing members will also be highlighted on the night of the Gala when the SOCAN Publisher of the Year Award winner is announced .
Each of SOCAN's special award winners will receive "LE SOCAN" , the first and only major trophy in the music industry to be a musical instrument as well. The incorporated five custom bronze crotales (percussion instruments consisting of small, tuned bronze or brass disks)- made by SABIAN, New Brunswick - awarded this year are tuned to play the first notes of the melody of Michel Rivard's “La complainte du phoque en Alaska”.
The complete list of winners of the SOCAN Gala 2018 will be released on the evening of October 2, 2018.
The SOCAN Gala in Montreal is the francophone component of the annual gala event presented in Toronto for music writers, composers and music publishers working primarily in English.

We’ll give you 100 guesses as to which song of Lara’s has qualified as the “Classic”.

Lara’s concerts in Quebec are slowly approaching, less than a month away (October 12-14). The Lara Fabian web FB site provided a picture that included the poster for the two Montreal shows indicating they were both sold out:

One last Quebec event for Lara is the upcoming broadcast of the show hosted by Sonya Benezra, “Tout le monde aime -Lara Fabian”, scheduled for September 23 (it was recorded last May 10th). The clips we’ve seen it suggest it will be an excellent production for Lara.
Interesting photo of the week: in addition to the ones Lara posted of herself, this is from the Lara Fabian – PHQ site,

expressing everyone’s desire for the new single to be available soon.
For the foreseeable future, this is what we can expect from Lara professionally- many Quebec events, along with perhaps some early indications about the new album. She would appear to be settling into this new stage of her life, which of course was also a previous stage. Who says you can never go home again? Importantly she seems to be very happy, more power to her.
