During this quiet week, Lara posted a photo on her FB site,
www.facebook.com/larafabianofficial/photos/a.622966977744803/2265511050157046/?type=3&theater
with the caption, “An old photo…a butterfly ready to take off.”
Whether this was just passing the time in nostalgia (something Lara says she doesn’t like to do) - the photo was from the Nue album - or an indicator that she was on the verge of “taking off” with upcoming activities, one can only speculate. In addition, as noted by the Lara Fabian web site, on Maurane’s site it was written, “During one of the studio sessions that took place so that the album "Brel" would be finally released, a butterfly came to land on the console. A sign?” Perhaps Lara was referring to that, and as a sign, a butterfly has long been associated with Lara, which Maurane knew very well. If it is thus related, Lara's comment may be indicating that as a caterpillar sheds its skin to find a butterfly within, ready to take off, Maurane has shed the skin of this life and is ready to take off into the next one. A picture of that butterfly can be seen at:
This follows Lara's post last week, which you may remember included a link to the new single "Vesoul" from Maurane’s new album “Brel”, with Lara's comment, “ Hear again her voice…”
With no approaching concert to prepare for, and so surprisingly with time to spare, Lara posted the following on her Instagram account: "A little jump to Paris... reunion with my friends Dominique and Masayo at Momoka. Now back to Montreal”, accompanied by the picture of the three of them,
Another photo with Dominique can be seen at:

Still in the European mode, Lara gave an interview for ‘Paris Match Belgium’ that was published this past week (https://parismatch.be/actualites/169457/lara-noublie-pas-litalie-il-a-fallu-beaucoup-de-courage-aux-italiens-pour-quitter-leur-terre). Here’s the translation:

Lara Fabian does not forget Italy ... "It took a lot of courage for the Italians to leave their land"
Lara is the child of a Belgian and a Sicilian. Her stage name is inspired by her uncle Fabiano!!
She now lives in Canada, where she is very successful. But her roots remain viscerally attached in it.
On the other side of the Atlantic, her album Camouflage is a success and her next concerts in Montreal (October 12th and 13th) are already sold out. She also became a coach in the Canadian version of The Voice . But Lara Fabian does not forget Belgium. And Italy even less, she who loves it so much for her family and for her husband, the magician Gabriel Di Giorgio. This is why the singer has chosen to support the "Italy Likes Belgium" operation, aimed at highlighting Italian-Belgian successes and fostering coexistence.
Paris Match. What are your Italian roots?
Lara Fabian. "Mom came to Belgium in 1964. She was 24 years old. She came from Sicily, more precisely from Catania. My father is Belgian. Mom came to Brussels on the occasion of the baptism of her niece. Her brother was already living there. He was a friend of the one who would become my father. That's how my parents crossed (paths). "
What image do you keep of this time?
LF: "The reunion on Sunday with the whole family. Precisely what I miss today. We brought food and our passions for hours at the table, all together. "
What do you think of the Italians who once left their country to live in Belgium?
LF: "I find them infinitely courageous. It is not easy to leave everything. Even if we are citizens of the world, we all have roots somewhere: they define us and belong to us. Italians, in particular, are very attached to it. They needed a lot of courage to leave their land and hope for a better future for their children. For my part, I am not a girl of emigrants who left because they had nothing. But I find this decision very noble. "
Today, your country is it Belgium or Italy?
LF: My country is where the people I love are. Whether they be Belgian, Italian, Quebecois or besides. "
In many areas, Italians show real savoir-faire that deserves to be commended. For you, what is Italy?
LF: " The art of living. The good life. The art of the table. Refinement, elegance, voices that resonate, the meaning of the party, the expression a little extreme. That's it: Italians are intense people. "
Do you often return to Italy?
LF: "Yes, two to three times a year. I still have family there. To find her again is a need. For me, Sicily is 'The earth that calls'. "
Why do you think the Italians are happy in Belgium?
LF: "Because Belgians are deeply debonair and courteous. These qualities they share, precisely, with the Italians. Both peoples have a rather benevolent way of living life and approaching essential things. Italy often makes me cry. No doubt seeing the love that binds people, the intensity of feelings that can be shared. There is not a day when, in Sicily, I did not feel this emotion. There is so much love in the family universe. It touches me deeply. I remember one Christmas night. We had all brought a dish to share and decided that everyone would sing a song. The ages were of no importance. The goal was to mix, to appreciate each other. Even children, who sometimes get bored after a while, were the driving force behind the family party. All generations were present, nothing could separate us. A strong moment, beautiful, magical, remained etched in my memory. "
You could go back to live in Italy?
LF: "It's possible. But I would have to be older. And that I want to settle... "
The operation "Italy Likes Belgium" was created to pay tribute to the Italians, but especially to bring people closer at a time when they speak less to each other. Are you sensitive to it?
LF "Yes. Our society constantly opposes communities, as one opposes points of view. It's a way of always divide and conquer. Fortunately, we are much smarter than that. That's why I think "Italy Likes Belgium" is a magnificent operation that really goes in the direction of what we profoundly want. All, everyone. "
If you have one and only sentence to say to the Belgian, what would you tell him?
LF: "'I love you'. And I would say 'Ti amo' to Italy. "

Also, from the Lara Fabian – PHQ site, from May of 2017, a beautiful photo of Lara in Los Angeles

As evident by this low-keyed News Update, we are basically in a holding pattern concerning Lara’s career. There seems to be no intention at the present time to proceed with the new album, given Lara’s upcoming schedule, La Voix in particular. However, her indicating that it was time to return to Quebec might be because her next concert in Montreal is about a month away, and she said it would be special for that audience – which seems like it will require preparation. “La rentree” has not resulted in an immediate increase in activity – we’ll see if something develops later this month. At the very least there will be the broadcast of “Tout le monde aime Lara Fabian” in several weeks – maybe that will be the fulcrum her Team uses to spring into action.
