Lara put one of her standard, ‘beguiling’ pictures, on her site this past week, available at
www.facebook.com/larafabianofficial/photos/a.215378125170359.50343.201065806601591/1513339535374205/?type=3&theater
with the caption (in English and French), “Are you ready to hear the name of the upcoming album ?” Obviously fans answered in the affirmative, in various languages (but mostly French), with enthusiasm. One imagines then that the name will be forthcoming in the near future, perhaps by the time you read this [although that may be overly optimistic – it would suit their purposes to drag it out ]. As soon as it is announced, we will also provide it here.
When asked when the album would be out, Lara’s Team said, “within this year”. Perhaps the release date (month) is still not set; or they don't want to say it is many months away, as it probably is, and have people lose interest.
Since this was a slow week, we can take the time to explore what knowing the title will tell us about the thrust of the new album. One can use album titles in numerous ways, including indicating the practical purpose of the album, or the ‘concept’ of a concept album, highlighting a lead song, or fulfilling some sort of internal impulse on the part of the performer. Here’s a review Lara’s of what Lara has done in the past:
**Lara Fabian (French): practical, introducing herself to a new audience.
**Carpe Diem: ‘Seizing’, in effect, the opportunity provided her with a new album, so again in a way practical.
**Pure: Perhaps the ‘purest’ exposition of Lara’s voice, although that’s probably not the reason…but associated with this, one could say it may relate to the emotions displayed.
**Live: self-explanatory.
**Lara Fabian (English): Again practical, introducing herself to the new English audience. Lara has said that she strongly considered naming it after the song “I Am Who I Am” as an indication of what she is really like.
**Nue: A ‘naked’ exposition of Lara’s feelings and state of mind, illustrated most clearly by the song “Parce que tu pars”.
**Live 2002: again, self-explanatory.
**En toute intimite: representative of the nature of the setlist (and Lara’s attire) during the live concerts.
**A Wonderful Life: The name of one of the songs, though not the one that was promoted as a single (during the brief time there was any promotion). It wasn’t really indicative of the theme or mood of the album, or even her own mood when it was released, and appears a somewhat curious choice. Maybe she just liked the name and idea it promoted.
**Neuf (9): As it also means ‘new’, Lara indicated it was to represent a new start – hence again practical. And it was ‘new’ in the sense that Lara downplayed her vocal prowess.
**Un regard neuf: Associated with her tour and live DVD promoting 'Neuf', again a literal statement of what one was seeing.
**Toutes les femmes en moi: The ‘concept’ of a concept album, all the women who ‘implanted’ themselves in Lara through their music during her time of growing and maturing. Also the name of the one original song by Lara on the album, though that was following the theme.
**Every Woman in Me: Same idea, in English.
**Toutes les femmes en moi font leur show: Practical title for the live DVD promoting TLFM.
**Mademoiselle Zhivago: Play off of her first name, taken from the Dr. Zhivago movie about Russia, and the fact that it was being done with the Russian Igor Krutoi.
**Le Secret: Concept of a concept album, the ‘secret’ being that answers lie within us; also the title of a song, which was following that theme.
**Ma vie dans la tienne: Concept of a concept album, about the various family and friends that make up her life, and how she makes up theirs.
As one can see, Lara choices have generally either been very practical – in which case, the new English album could be called something like, “I’m Back!” - or it is the title of a concept album, even if the concept is just her approach (e.g., Nue). Obviously the first choice will tell us nothing about the album except that it won’t be a concept album, while the second will give us a clue as to what she really has to say in English. We’ll see (and again, you just might already know by the time you read this…).
In possibly related news, the ‘Lara Fabian est ton autre’ site and the Lara Fabian Connecting People’ FB site had some pictures of a photo shoot Lara had over the weekend in Frameries, Belgium. The photos can be seen at:

They are of her with her long-time Belgian make-up artists, hairdressers and photographers. If one goes to the website of the ‘freebird’ studio (http://freebirdstudio.be/freebirdstudio)/, one can see some pictures of Lara from 2013, 2016 and the ‘Doudou’ event. According to the LFIAG Select site, there was a post stating that select guests, including Lara, were invited to the heart of Freebird Studio. And one person wrote, “I experienced the most beautiful photo shooting of my career. What happiness – Lara Fabian and the great photographer Afsaneh Afkhami . An afternoon of sharing and friendship. Thanks!!!!...I love my life, I love my job.”
We don’t know whether this photo shoot was at all related to the new album, but it wouldn’t be surprising – that has to be done somewhere at some point in time. Presumably it will be more representative of Lara than the pictures for her first English album. Lara said that when she showed those to her mother, her mother asked who they were pictures of ! . The Lara Fabian Mexico site had a picture of Lara holding that album, at
www.facebook.com/LaraFabianfromMexico/photos/a.556367684417296.1073741826.556364357750962/1293350027385721/?type=3&theater
and one can see why Lara’s mother would be confused .
And staying in the pictures motif, according to a photo from Catania, Italy Lara was also recently there (and the caption says with her husband), available at
Again, Lara would appear to have plenty of free time.
Interesting photo(s) of the week: from the Lara Fabian Connecting People site (actually posted last month),

Lara also sent a very nice video birthday greeting to Balareva and Zhdanova of that site, available at:

And Lara left her own, beautiful photo (from the TLFM tour), along with a wish for people to have a wonderful weekend, at

Clearly, Lara’s Team (and her fans sites) are in the unenviable position of having to keep interest alive when nothing much is happening, at least on the outside (like anything that is in the prenatal process). We can imagine more such ‘lures’ for the new album, in addition to its title, such as art work, photos, eventually set-list (if in fact that really is all set), maybe even lyrics, leading up to a new single. But all of this may be months away. Until then, we’ll see how creative we can all be .
