Lara was in Switzerland this past week and now (at the time of this writing) is presumably in Israel preparing for her upcoming concert.
As for being in Switzerland, the musical comedy school AICOM held the finals of its 3rd annual competition last week there, and Lara was present, as expected. Photos of the participants, and Lara, looking very pretty, are available (thanks to Philippe Sensitif) at:

A report on the final results, featuring snippets of performances and some comments from Lara (in French) is available at:

Otherwise, Lara is currently preparing for her Thursday night concert in Caesarea, Israel (2100 local time). The poster and promotional information is available at:

A video of the preparation has been made available at:

(If you’re wondering why it’s a Thursday night, remember, the Sabbath starts at sundown on Friday night in that country). From the video, it looks like it will be a wonderful experience for her to sing in such a setting. It’s not clear whether any innovation is planned in the setlist, although it would be a good time to promote her new box set of the Mlle. Zhivago CD/DVD by including a few more songs from that disc. This might give us an indication as to whether she plans to promote it at all, in any live venue.
Coincidentally Lara’s concert for Lebanon, entitled “entre vous et moi” will be replayed on TV5 in France this coming June 9th at 19:30 (it is not on TV5 in the States, at least not this week). Perhaps Lara’s problems in that regard will arise in press reports from Israel concerning her concert - one can’t help but think it would increase her popularity there.
Lara finally did get around to informing people on her FB site that the boxset can be purchased on-line from www.bookstar.fr/. Whoever wrote the message was apparently unaware that the information had been promulgated on every other Lara site for several weeks. Perhaps their delay was due to a reticence to interfere with the Carrefour sales that they have been playing up; whatever the cause, it’s old news now that Lara’s fans do more for themselves (and really for her) than her official websites do.
Meanwhile, Alan Badoev is pushing Max Barsky’s new album Z Dance (see the video at www.youtube.com/watch?v=S2p8TE4VQz4). If it becomes a hit, which Badoev claims it is in the process of doing, that will put on more pressure for the release of the MZ movie, since Barsky is featured in it along with Lara. As we have been saying all along, the inclusion of the stills from the movie in her box set will also ‘up the ante’. The “Lara fabian es ton autre’ FB site indicates that the package contains a promotional booklet with 5 pages devoted to the ‘event’, an interview with Lara and two completely new pictures (maybe it was originally prepared with the movie’s release in mind). It will be very interesting to read what it and Lara have to say! On-line entertainment publications that have commented on the situation expect that the movie will be released in some form eventually.
In other news, the Lara Fabian Romanian Fan club has finished their subtitling of all 10 parts of ‘Quelque chose en nous de…Lara Fabian’. It is one of the best shows ever done about Lara, originally broadcast in May 2009 in Belgium. They are to be greatly thanked for the effort. All parts are available on youtube.
A meeting of Lara’s fans has been scheduled for Saturday, July 7 in Chauny in Northern France. Lara has made an effort to either attend or have someone represent her at meetings in Belgium the last several years; whether the same will apply to this one is of course uncertain. More information can be obtained at:
www.facebook.com/events/384958124878670/
In case you didn’t see it, a video of Lara doing a duet of the wonderful song ‘Fields of Gold’ is available on youtube at: www.youtube.com/watch?v=X_m0GWTVPdg&
By next week, we hope to have some information and hopefully videos of Lara’s upcoming performance. It is the last such scheduled for a number of months (we’ll see if she makes an effort to promote the box set on its June 21st release).
