More information surrounding some past events dominated the news this week.
We’ve now found out what Lara was doing in Venice last week, in addition to appearing on any TV show. Bernard Depoorter, whom Lara had indicated was her favorite stylist for ‘ready-to-wear’ clothes, posted a letter indicating his upcoming collection for the fall will feature “the melancholic Sissi for the past and the charismatic Lara Fabian for the future. This collection will offer mystery and strength, with nice surprises :-)”. It appears the collection will be called ‘The Amazons’. The photo available at:

shows Lara wearing one of his creations in Venice (thanks to the “lara fabian est ton autre” FB site).
You may remember that Lara seemed to allow pictures of Lou to be made public. There is a story concerning that available from "Nous Deux" dated May 7th, which can be seen at:

A translation reads: “It is the first time that Lara consents to have her small Lou be photographed at a party. A very pretty little girl, wearing a tiara and even a concealing skirt matching the uniform of her mother the singer. Lara, whose companion is none other than the television director Gerard Pullicino, and the little Lou were in effect the guests of the evening for the premiere of the film 'Mirror Mirror', adopted from Snow White. Lou 4 and a half years old, was visibly very proud of meeting Snow White in person!”
Lara gave an interview for a Russian publication which came out today (http://tarbut.zahav.ru). A (translated) quote from it reads "her childhood was filled by Edith Piaf, the rock star Tina Turner, but also by the pioneering dancer in music halls of Broadway, Shirley MacLaine. "I feel the same to them all and I identify vocally in each of these genres. I am capable of "directing" the passion, like Edith Piaf, I can turn the public by the pace of rock and roll. I love the music show with dancing, tap dancing. I am confident that the true professional on stage must know everything about it, "said Lara". (Thanks to the Lara Fabian is Here website...). We know Lara is quite capable operating in each of these genres.
Continuing with the theme of on-line press reports, there is a nice review of the current state of Lara’s activities available (in English) at:
anonimuzz.hubpages.com/hub/Lara-Fabian-in-2012-New-Tour-New-Album-New-Movie
In addition to noting that her appearance in Venice was for a private concert, it also makes the point that so far Lara has sung very few of the Mlle. Zhivago songs while in Eastern Europe. We’ll see if that changes once the CD/DVD/book set is released.
There is an on-going contest to define who has the most beautiful voice for French songs. The way it works is that a list was provided of prospective entrants, and fans voted; the top 15 make it to the next round (which started on Monday and goes ‘til June 3rd). Ultimately one name will be left. Lara was 8th in the voting and hence is still ‘alive’. None of this can be taken very seriously, for it is a obviously a popularity contest rather than a ‘rating of voices’, but if you have any interest in it, it’s available at:
www.buzz-land.com/pages/musique/la-plus-belle-voix-francophone.html
In the same vein, there is a list of top ten Italian songs on the web, and Lara’s rendition of ‘Perdre l’amore’ is among them. That can be seen at:
www.toptenz.net/top-10-italian-songs.php
Lara was on TV, albeit briefly, several times this past week. The Belgian channel “La Une” broadcast the 200th edition of “Hep Taxi”, showing past clips and apparently Lara was present several times (for both the Love and Music themes). You may remember that Lara’s Romanian fanclub provided English subtitles to her latest Hep Taxi appearance (available on youtube). She was also seen in France on the Eurovision show, and in fact one of the singers was compared to her (inappropriately, according to some fans).
In case you missed it, George Perris discussed his making of the duo with Lara on ‘Ma Solitude’; it can be seen (thanks to ‘Lara Fabian is Here FB site) at:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=A73Jc4tbZ5w
It was noted elsewhere that the studio where they recorded the duet is the same one in which Lara is working on ‘Le Secret’ (good to hear that’s really happening). The (translated) lyrics to several other songs of Lara’s that have been in the news recently will be posted in an accompanying thread.
The very pretty poster for Lara’s June 7th concert in Israel is now available and can be seen at:

(thanks to the site ‘lara fabian russe’ via the ‘Lara Fabian est ton autre’ FB site).
Again, nothing on the schedule that we know of until that concert, although some other events, perhaps associated with AICOM, are possible in June.
