It appears that Lara has been in Russia recently, prior to her trip to Kazakhstan for the upcoming concert. As reported by the Lara Fabian Romanian fan club, a very complimentary article about her appeared in the Russian newspaper "Труд" ("Labor") along with a new photo; it is available at:
www.trud.ru/article/09-04-2012/274710_liricheskoe_soprano_lary_fabian.html
It of course raises the possibility of Lara interacting with her Russian/Ukrainian colleagues on the question of the Mlle. Zhivago film, although we know by now that nothing positive is guaranteed in that respect.
As for the second part of last week’s rumors, Thomas Lecourbe, who is a “Journalist at Troisième Oeil Productions” is continuing to insist that Lara was fired by Universal three months ago, a step that would have great consequences for her (and for her next album, ‘Le Secret’). If this is really true, they have been slow in updating their website, for she is still included on it:

The second edition of the “Pure-Lara” magazine is now available for viewing, at:
www.pure-lara.fr/index.php/fans/pure-lara-le-mag
As with the first edition there are some nice photos, and in this case a chronicle of her recent concert in Bratislava. One interesting point included was that there were only three of Lara’s CDs for sale there: “Nue”, “TLFM”, and the first English Album, “Lara Fabian”. Interesting choices!
The magazine runs a contest; in this case the question is: In what year did Lara win the ‘Felix’ for the most popular album of the year (in Quebec)? Send your answers to the question by mail to pure.lara @ yahoo.fr, before Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at midnight to play, 10 winners will be drawn and the prize is a picture of Lara, format 20x30 cm.
Speaking of Quebec, it turns out that Lara as an ‘immigrant’ to Canada is still a subject of interest. Her Romanian fanclub published a report that in the April edition of their Canadian magazine, “Les immigrants de la Capitale”, a review of Lara’s concerts in Bucharest wll appear, as well as her interview with the magazine. It’s also interesting that Lara is still concerned enough about Canada to grant such an interview, which the magazine describes as very moving.
Lara was at the premier of the film “Cloco” several weeks ago; a video of it can be found at:

(Lara shows up at the 1:18 mark…).
Saturday night Lara will be in Kazakhstan for her ‘charity ball’ concert. You may remember, last November Lara wrote a letter explaining her participation in this event; it is copied below (translation by the LARA-FABIAN-IS-HERE FB page):
-----------------------------------------------------------------
"Dear Angels,
I am writing to express my joyfulness about attending the fourth edition of the Charity Ball on April 2012 in Almaty.
... ... Indeed I am delighted to join a cause that touches me a lot: kids in need.
As a mother, I perfectly understand the distress of sick or disabled children.
If my presence can help to collect funds to help many children in pain, I am proud of it.
As you know, I have been supporting the AMTM association (‘Association Médicale Toit du Monde’) since 2006. Every year, they provide care and treatments for underprivileged children in Nepal and India.
I am not only a singer. I receive so much from people that I can't conceive this job without sharing.
I look forward to meeting you.
With all my love, Lara"

BTW, that site also has a very nice montage of pictures of Lara…
Videos of the preparation of the hall and its vicinity (from the Russian forum) are available at:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=pPWoGARLt1A&
www.youtube.com/watch?v=itk-L1LMeP8&
(this is an indication of how hard up we are for news ).
By next week at this time, the concert will have taken place. Russian fans have heard that it will not be shown live, but may be available after-the-fact. Hopefully there will at least be some videos… It will again be interesting to see whether any of the ‘Mlle. Zhivago’ songs are represented, as they were previously in that country.
