I love this song that Lara wrote about Montreal, how beautifully Lara shows how living there has changed her. I find this tribute very beautiful.
"I Remember" (Je Me Souviens)
Some flowers of white lillies under a blue sky of crystal Some strolls under snow in the form of a star Some maples the color of a fatal passion I forget absolutely nothing I remember
The odors of a forest that a beautiful lake reveals The reflection of a big fire on our pale faces An intense light by the borealis nights I forget absolutely nothing I remember
I love your poems, your heart, your liberty You are the only land where My soul is set down
An accent of which one doesn't know the secrets A French which rushes forward in some forgotten words An inimitable way of singing I forget absolutely nothing I remember
I love your blasphemies, your faith, your dignity You are like an island That no one wants to leave
I love your poems, your heart, your liberty You are like an island That no one wants to leave
Some landscapes which blend the more than perfect Some paintings that nature never remakes The impression of being entered in the garden of peace I forget absolutely nothing And I remember

As French being my mother tongue and living in Quebec I just have to clarify that the song is not only about Montreal and neither about the entire Canada. It's about the Province of Quebec. "Je me souviens" is the motto of the province and we can identify to everything Lara has said in the song and it feels very great to see how much we mean to her here.
