Releases associated with the Mlle. Zhivago movie continued this past week, in particular, an additional clip associated with “Mlle. Hyde”, this time from television station NTV. It featured Lara as a platinum blonde, in a low cut negligee, engaging in semi-erotic behavior. As one might expect, that elicited some comments from the fans. The overall opinion is that in combination with the other clips (Lara as a bedraggled concentration camp victim, Lara as a vampire, Lara as a matron) she is (literally) in the act of greatly expanding the bounds of her public image. The media, particularly in France, has often treated Lara as a one dimensional caricature, so IMHO this is only for the best. Some fans thought that this last clip would leave her open to stereotyping by those in the media who have always thought her a ‘floozy’; maybe, but even that image would keep the public from being bored with her! And we do know that Lara has a sensual side, even though the protocol in France seems to be to downplay it.
In addition, the clip for “"Bouquet d'hiver" , with Lara and Maks on a roof and then in bed, was posted with subtitles in French. What’s interesting to see (and more understandable from the subtitles) is how micro-managing the director Alan Badoev is, where almost every move is ordered. Very different from directors who just set the stage and rely on the actors to fill in the substance from their experience. Perhaps this is because these actors don’t have any real experience, and the clips are like music videos, short (not part of an on-going narrative); or maybe it’s just his way. Both this video and the one discussed above are readily available on larafabiannews.com.
And we’ve gotten some more photos of Lara as a vampire (the movie clip is now called ‘Morphine’); they’re available at (as well as in Christina’s blogs):

A correction on the airing of the Russian television program in which Lara and Igor lip-synched some of the songs to Mlle. Zhivago, the album: it has not taken place yet, it will be aired in conjunction with the release of the album. So it doesn’t violate Lara’s long-standing reticence on having her new songs heard ahead of time. The bootleg mp3s were taken from the audience, not the TV.
Nevertheless, with those bootlegs and the additional movie clips come additional songs that we get to hear. The current lineup from the new album now is:
1-Mama (English); 2- Ever (English); 3- Stop (English); 4- Madmoiselle Hyde (English); 5- “Beating” (not really the name) (English); 6- Toccami (Italian); 7- Lou (Italian); 8- Demain n'existe Pas (French); 9- Bouquets d'hivers (French)
With three more songs left, we expect at least one of them will be in Spanish.
A video of Lara and the performances at the “International Music Comedy” competition is available (thanks to Wendy on the official site) at:

(as well as on larafabianweb.com). Lara is gracious as always when dealing with enthusiastic young talent, and we get to see what a diverse group they were. Among those shown, we see the winner, Pierre Babolat (from what is shown seems quite professional already); Anne Freches, second prize winner, a musical comedy performer with a powerful voice, who will get lessons with Lara; and Marjolaine Trichet, 3rd place winner at 16 years old, with a portion of her version of ‘Comme ils dissent’.
According to “xIamwhoIamx” on the official site, Lara will be interviewed on the Radio Quebec program "Rock-Détente" this coming week. It’s not clear whether it will be in person or over the phone, but given her schedule, it is hard to see how she could be in Canada in that time frame.
Several people, including Christina, have interacted with the director of the film ‘Charlie’ in the past week. All have reported that Lara is still committed to playing the part of ‘Mimi’, the wife of a local doctor during the second world war in northern Italy. The director seemed confident that the remaining funding and casting problems were well on their way to solution, and that filming might begin after Lara’s current filming and her scheduled trip to Quebec. Her part is described as ‘small but important’, so one would think it could be done before her very busy autumn schedule begins (assuming all the problems really are worked out).
If Lara is to be part of the filming in New Zealand, one imagines that the trip has to happen in the coming week, since in 10 days Lara will be in Turkey for her scheduled concert.
