A light week for Lara, in public at least, following the end of her concert tour and before the filming of the Mme. Zhivago clips. Her name did come up in a few different auspices, however.
Lara will be one of the hosts of an “International Musical Comedy’ contest for aspiring comedians, singers, and dancers. Winners will receive various prizes, one being an individual “Master Class” with Lara. The form for those interested in participating is available at www.aicomparis.com . It must be sent along with a CV by May 10 to A.I.CO.M. 322 rue Saint Martin, 75003 Paris. This would appear to mark another in Lara’s continuing attempts to enter the musical comedy fraternity in France – which keeps getting put off for one reason or another. At least she’s making connections…
Lara is listed as being one of those rendering homage Gregory LeMarchal on a program dedicated to him, to be broadcast April 28th on TMC (in France). It’s not clear what her contribution will actually be – it may be nothing more than the rebroadcast of their Star Academy duet (“Un Ave Maria”). You may remember that after his death in 2007, Lara did not appear on the show dedicated to him at that time, preferring to remember him in private.
“Stars a domicile”, hosted by Jean-Luc Delarue, is returning to TF1 with six new programs. Lara is listed as a guest on one of the upcoming shows. One can actually vote on who one wants to see – it should be sent to

Lara received several nice commendations by other performers recently. Paula noted several weeks ago that Mario Frangoulis mentioned how much he enjoyed working with her on ‘DeLovely’, and his continuing interactions with her for concerts and charity work (http://hollywood.greekreporter.com/2010/03/24/mario-frangoulis-talks-about-his-upcoming-us-tour-and-film-aspirations/). Paula also noted that Mario is discussing a possible PBS special to promote his new album this coming fall, on which he said some of his special friends might participate. If Lara is there, maybe this time a PBS show with her on it will actually show up on a DVD ☺.
In addition, Charice on AOL Radio blog listed Lara’s rendition of ‘Adagio’ as one of her 10 favorite songs. That can be found (thanks to larabest) at: www.aolradioblog.com/2010/03/17/charice-lists-her-favorite-songs/
The song has become a magnet for young singers, as you can see in the video of Charice singing Adagio with Christian Imperato on youtube (thanks to speranza9 on the official site):

Finally, given the light news week, it provides the opportunity to offer a tentative translation of Lara’s new song, “Mirage”. It is tentative at least in part because it is not completely clear what all the French lyrics are. So what is shown below is subject to revision when we have the actual lyrics. As you can see, it’s a more mature take on heartbreaks, and presumably comes from Lara’s experiences. [BTW, while Lara has now performed this song at several different acoustic concerts, it is not known when (or if) it will actually appear commercially. Presumably it is not on the Mme. Zhivago album, since the music for that was written by Igor Krutoi. Maybe on the next French album?]

Mirage
(Clewer and Fabian)
It is all broken, all torn
A small piece of me has just come detached
A being passed
Like a spark slipped through
Imprisoned, held in this flesh
I hide in silence between some old prayers
Gathering up my hours that he threw from
His troubled heart
What is the pain that unites us?
Why is it that we love a crutch?
A chain, a chain
Disoriented from the intoxication of a love and
From loves battered and tortured
I’m going to leap
Into other arms which do not want me
The time to recover the memory
From the time when I was not ridiculous
Fills me with enormous dreams
With which I dance before I wake
It is no longer broken, I’ve mended
I remember that it’s time to forget everything
A being passed,
Another pain is forgiven

Lara has nothing official listed on her schedule at this point – not even any of the events discussed above, although that doesn’t mean they won’t happen. However, Maria on the official site forum noted that tickets are now available for Lara’s concerts with Igor Krutoi in Moscow on November 3-4

No doubt that of all Lara’s proposed future projects, the ones with Igor Krutoi look real.

ps - tmaj00 pointed out to me that Janey Clewer wrote the music for Mirage, so I've added that in to the Mirage listing.
