While Lara’s TLFM tour is over, she still had some last acoustic concerts to perform in France, and then left for Israel to begin a brief stay there. The remaining French concerts were in Ludres and Yutz. The setlist was pretty much as it had been in the previous acoustic concerts: J’y crois encore; Il venait d’avoir 18 ans; Soleil soleil; Immortelle; La difference; Humana; Theme from Mahogany (Do you know where you’re going to); Wind beneath my wings; Angel; Grande grande grande; Alfonsina y el mar; J’ai besoin de parler; Mirage; Je t’aime; Adagio. As such, it was back to the 1:30 minutes duration. The multi-lingual component is a nice setup for the shows anticipated with her upcoming album, Mme. Zhivago.
Lara was in great vocal form for both concerts. Both the fans writing in and the press gave the shows high praise. The audience felt closer to Lara for several reasons, the more intimate setting in the smaller houses (some 700-800 people), and Lara’s discussion of each song prior to her singing. Freed from the strict computer-driven regime of the TLFM tour, she had time for more personal interactions with her fans. [Some fans, however, felt Lara pushed the casual nature of the concerts a bit too far, as she appeared to be wearing what amounted to a jogging suit.] The fans reciprocated with the usual litany of ‘surprises’ – the luminescent bracelets, posters, tee shirts, etc, all still apparently pleasing to Lara.
Two anecdotes were noted in particular. In Ludres, Lara went to the piano for a glass of water carrying her microphone, and ended up trying to drink from the microphone instead of the glass (yes, people felt she was somewhat tired at both venues, perhaps even ill in Yutz). And preceding the concert in Yutz, when people were lined up behind barriers for autographs, a barrier actually fell against Lara’s knee during the signing session.
Numerous videos of the two shows are available on Youtube. Don’t miss the videos at www.youtube.com/user/tetedeloup. You can also become a friend of Amelie Pothier on Facebook, where she apparently has a number of videos from Ludres. Photos of the concert from Ludres are available at cosane54.over-blog.com/
Then Lara jumped on a plane and headed for her first concert in Israel. Anticipation was high for it, primed by an Israeli facebook site dedicated to the occasion. And again Lara was in fine vocal form, with basically the same setlist as above, except for including ‘Je suis malade’ (what a surprise!) while omitting ‘Mirage’, and ending the concert with Hurshat Ha Ekaliptus (a song in Hebrew that she has now sung several times, including at the 60th ‘birthday party’ for Israel last May in Paris). Reaction was extremely positive from everybody reporting in; she has her second concert in Israel tonight. Some videos are available on youtube, and photos are on the facebook site:

It was reported that Lara will give a concert in Portugal later this year for the benefit of the Portuguese League Against Cancer. If so, it may be of interest as well because that would be one European country where Lara could try out the songs from Mme. Zhivago.
TLFM is supposed to be released in Canada tomorrow. ‘jonlee’ on the official site wrote that Lara will be there in the next couple of days (still needing confirmation). In France, TLFM dropped one place, to 84th. A fan noted that ‘Platine’ in recounting the albums sold in 2009, omitted Lara and TLFM entirely – a strange oversight despite their dissatisfaction with the album.
"Le petit journal" had their latest edition of ‘The Wonderful World of Lara’, this time focusing on her duets with the children in Italy. While the aim of the skit is obviously to mock Lara, this show concentrated mainly on poking fun at the kids. As one fan noted, despite their intent, it did give the audience the impression that Lara was a big star in Italy (which as we know is not true ☺ ). It can be seen at:

After tonight in Tel Aviv, Lara has one more concert, in Moldavia on April 1st, and after that she is free! (presumably to start filming the movie clips for Mme. Zhivago).
