Lara appeared in numerous media outlets this past week, radio, TV and the press, promoting the new album and her tour. Some are available on NABBOX, or follow the links fans provide on the official site to find them. What we have learned from this media blitz is
***that almost everyone has responded to the letters she sent from TLFM, including the brothers of Dalida and Barbara, with very moving letters of their own, something she did not expect.
***Lara does not want to give away too much about the upcoming tour, so that people can be surprised, but it involves technology never before used on stage. [People were surprised in one other way - in one interview she referred to Gerard as her husband! - although that might have been a slip of the tongue.]
***She says she will go home between the open dates on her concerts to keep herself refreshed [but we know that won't be really true if she is really going to do the movie part in February].
***In responding to why the new album had such harsh criticism, Lara answered that those who try to provide light, like herself, are always surrounded by shadows - a very good answer!
***She is still adamant about not exposing her family to any publicity - she said her daughter did not choose to be born into a family with such exposure and shouldn't suffer for it (IMHO, a poor answer!).
***TLFM has now sold over 150,000 copies.
Of particular interest was Lara's appearance on Hep'taxi. The video is now available on NABBOX, and a brief description of what went on is available from the Lara Fabian news site at:

The funniest part was when riding in the taxi, they passed a street singer warbling a bastardized version of 'Je t'aime' - the cab was stopped right next to him, and he wasn't aware that Lara was just a few feet away.
The single for TLFM is no longer being sold in a number of the stores, and may have been a 'one-time thing'. A picture of the pocket of the single is available at laracollection57.skyrock.com/. The album has dropped 3 places to 15 in Belgium, and 15 places to 65 in France. The tour is starting just in time…
Lara is part of a contest organized by 'femmes d'aujourd'hui' to choose the 25 most elegant women in Belgium (out of 100). The pictures and brief bios of these women are available at:

It's been reported that Lara has been asked by TF1 to act in a telefilm, and that she has expressed great interest in it. It would take place in the summer (hence after the film appearance in February, and before the theatre performance in the fall). It will be interesting to see if any of this actually occurs.
While this may be a hoax, it was reported that some people have had the opportunity to hear six of the tracks on EWIM. The ones that have been noted with special attention are "Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered; "Wind Beneath My Wings"; and "Both Sides Now". The cuts in general are reported to have much simpler instrumentation, without the processing that occurred for TLFM. None of this comes as any surprise, including the choice of these songs, as they were performed in Moscow, and Lara said this album would be basically 'piano-voice'. So there is no proof that the people have actually heard any part of the album - we're savvy enough by now to suspect false rumors until we obtain something ourselves. The websites that are supposed to sell it do not yet have anything available, e.g., the 'boutique' on the official site is still not open. Fans suspect it will be opened at the end of this week, when the new tour starts. [It's now taken for granted that it's useless to ask for a response from Nathalie or anyone else in the position to know on the official site.]
Lara put up for auction on TF1 the gold record she recently received for TLFM (actually, she literally had just gotten it, as shown on the program "Nos chanteurs préférés"). Bidding took place on Sunday, with proceeds to go to a family that had lost the roof of their home in a tornado in the north of France last August. It went for 340 euros, and the event will be broadcast October 17th. A very generous gift by Lara.
On the show referred in which she received the gold record, which is to be broadcast Sept. 26th, Lara sang a lip-synch version of TLFM, encountering some problems coordinating her effort with the music. She also performed a duet of "Tu es mon autre" with Michael Gregorio. A brief preview of it is available on youtube, at:

Lara appears at about the 1.30 mark of the video. Most noteworthy about this is her outfit!
Lara's career moves into full swing this next week, with her first concert at Forest National in Brussels on Friday (from which dvlp90 says he will give us his impressions!). Lara noted she has some 50 concerts planned from now through the end of March. After the very long wait, we can now say she is really back!
