Lara's interview on Bel RTL radio took place as scheduled this past week. In it she mentioned again that there will be surprises in her concerts, and in particular dropped the names of Maurane and Veronique Sanson - and even Seal, whom she indicated she has been working with. She also thanked Maurane for the liner note on Maurane's new album, which reads (in translation): "Thank you to Lara for friendship rediscovered and the honor that you have given me by having included me in Toutes les femmes en moi".
After the show, Lara posed for photographs with everyone who was waiting for her - some photographs are available on the official site forum, in the Bel RTL thread. During the afternoon, Lara was recorded for another program, this time for the RTL TV station, a show ("Plateau télé") which is to be broadcast September 7th. And it was reported by angeyelliel (a reliable source) that Lara will be on the program HEP'TAXI to be shown on Sept. 20th on Belgian channel 2. This has yet to be confirmed on the official site.
TLFM has dropped to 43rd in France (a loss of eight places). She is still getting little airplay, apart from on France Blue; when asked one station said it was because they don't play songs from the 60s, and 70s, which were the original release dates for a number of the titles on TLFM. However, in Belgium, the album has gained 9 places, and is now 14th. One expects that the coming tour will reinvigorate her standing, although it was pointed out that good seats still remain at a number of the venues. Darkloic reported that Lara is not worried about the cancellation of the October 9th show at the Paris Zenith theatre, that Lara only had an option for it.
And more about the upcoming tour: a new report came out (again from someone claiming to have attended the rehearsals) indicating that the set listing provided last week was false. This one said that there will only be 7 songs from TLFM, and no English medley (however, 'Nuit magique' is still listed as the beginning overture - which makes some literal sense!). Obviously we will have to wait until at least Sept. 13th, when 10 people are to attend a rehearsal (see last week's news update). And if things really aren't finalized, maybe we won't know until the first show (Sept. 25th) - or maybe even the first several shows.
In other promotion news: 'Femmesdaujourd'hui'' is sponsoring a contest for 10 tickets to the upcoming concerts. It requires one to send in an account of which song of Lara's is most important to you, and why. Five winners will be chosen; deadline, Sept. 15th.
Lara was included on the cover of the magazine "The Closer" last week, featuring '100 stars without makeup'. It can be seen at:

She was also in Gala magazine, in an (old) interview about cuisine, at:
www.gala.fr/lifestyle_de_star/beaute/regime_de_star/lara_fabian_ou_le_gout_des_bonnes_choses_45629
It was announced that Lara will appear at a charity event October 11th to be broadcast on RTBF radio and television. It is called CAP 48, and helps provides funds for medical procedures for the handicapped, and will take place at the Bouglione circus in Heysel. Other artists listed include Maurane, Pascal Obispo and Dany Brillant. We have learned in the past that just because Lara is named doesn't mean she has even been asked, nor does it imply she will really appear, but it does take place between her concert dates.
Finally, Lara's 40th birthday will be coming up this January, and some fans are preparing to give her an extra special birthday present. For those interested in contributing money (5 euros are suggested), or ideas, contact stephanie.lf@wanadoo.fr
Next week's update will likely be several days late, as I'll be in England for the week. There is also the likelihood that the 'news updates' will be permanently switched to Tuesdays - if you have strong feelings about that, please let me know.
