Dear France,
The French "Pop" music and I understand "Pop" in the Brittanic sense of the term, owes everything to you.
You invented, song after song, the sensitive world to which you transported us.
You are 'the pioneer' par excellence.
The quality of each of the works that you and Michel Berger created is incontestable.
Time has not even lightly brushed a hair of them. On listening to this musical heritage, one can only bow.
I proclaim it: I was a Fan. Fan of the style of making a line in front of the Forest National for some hours with in hand, the "sous" that every Sunday my father and mother gave me and that for months I economized to permit me to buy a ticket for your show.
Fan to the point of observing you for a long time to learn to become unique for, for me, that is what you are, "Unique".
No one else in the world moves me like you, nor translates words into music like you with this little 'I don't know what', which made me so happy.
For in fact it is that, the summary of my love story with you: it is the Happiness and the positive Energy that you instilled in me and that emanates from your music.
From "Résiste" to "Papillion de nuit" to "La fille de Shannon" to "Musique" to Débranche" up to "Babacar" which I've chosen to render homage to you…
I can say that you have been the sun against all the days of rain of my adolescence.
I know your discretion and your humility. I don't know if our paths will cross one day.
Then I send to you this letter coupled to your song…
I hope that my version will make your heart "knock and bang in your body and in your head".
With all my admiration.
Lara
