A quiet week for Lara as far as public appearances go, as we are now in the midst of the summer doldrums.
Several stores are advertising a limited edition of TLFM (e.g.,)

to be released August 14th. The song list is the same as for the standard release from last May. The short segments of the songs available also appear to be from the initial release. The only conclusion available at this point is that it is a marketing ploy, with perhaps a change in packaging. TLFM is now #36 in France. (down from #33 last week). In Russia it is #12, having risen from #20 last week.
With that in mind, several interviews with Lara at the Slavic Bazar in Belarus 7/10 (and shown on TV in Russia on July 11th) are available on Youtube (e.g.,http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OO4dDSpjYHA). The prime importance is that it represents another indication of the push Lara is making for a Russian audience. It certainly makes sense to go where you seem to be wanted.
Just a note on the Russian concerts in June – almost all of the videos from the concerts of June 1,2 and 4th have been added to the Russian site by Alena at www.larafabian.borda.ru. Note that you have to ask for permission to be allowed access to the videos portion (it can be asked in English or French, as well as Russian). It remains to be seen whether videos from the remaining two dates (June 5 and 6) will become available.
Lara was asked to be a juror on “Incroyable Talent” to be broadcast on French TV6. Apparently she refused. The jurors tend to be quite demeaning to the participants (true in every country), and Lara has said many times that it’s important to provide hope and positive reinforcement to young singers.
While Lara has provided some of the names of the singers whom she is covering on EWIM, speculation continues concerning the others. In particular, the name “Petula Clark” has been mentioned on the websites – an obvious choice given that her father was a guitarist in her band, and she has a strong French as well as English repertoire. It would be odd if Lara omitted her – personally I wouldn’t be surprised if her father’s working relationship with P.C .was a prime reason Lara wanted to become a singer in the first place.
A nice photo of Lara is found on the website www.laurencelabat.com/
In the ‘International’ section. It is also apparently in the new Farfallina – which in general has not received rave reviews from those who have received it. One would imagine that Lara's attention was elswhere.
Another quiet week publicly for Lara coming up. Note that the ‘News Update” will be one day earlier (on Saturday).
