As described in other posts, the big news this week concerned a new message that Lara put on her website, and a day later, the English version of the new site opened, so the message became available in English as well. While some people complained that Lara has perfected the art of not saying anything in these messages, this one had two interesting aspects.
We had wondered whether Lara still had anything to say as a performer. This message, along with the interview she gave in Brussels seems to explain what she is up to. Apparently, she has decided that the main reason to continue in this business is for the sake of her fans. She then rationalizes that to get closer to them, she will let them know more about her – hence the new album (TLFM) which, as she said in the interview, deals not so much with songs that represent turning points in her life, but songs that represent who she really is. The new message restates that she is happy to present this album to her ‘angels’, and emphasizes her love for them.
All this may seem as somewhat of a disconnect with the shabby way fans are treated on her website, and by her organization in general – but this may only mean, as we’ve suspected, that Lara doesn’t pay much attention to what’s happening on-line. All the fans’ complaints about Lara have been concerned with what appears to be her negligence – not with overt acts towards the fans. In the Brussels interview, she repeated that the ‘incident at Nimes’ with the fans singing “On t’aime” was one of the most important in her life, and that it brought her back from the depths of despair. Her statements may well represent her true feelings.
The other intriguing comment in the message concerned the ‘gospel nature’ (including a gospel choir) that she says is to be found throughout the album. Apparently at the private concert in October she had mentioned something about this, although it was not apparent in the songs that she played. It obviously would seem to be a new direction for Lara – it remains to be seen whether she has the proper ‘spirit’ for this sort of music. The fact that she said she is still working on the album – to be followed by the mixing – is further validation that what eventually is released will likely be quite different from what we heard in the fall.
On the 24th Lara appeared at a gala dinner associated with the American Grand Prix dedicated to the charity "Toutes à l'école" (All to the school). She shared the stage with a group of children called “Les Petits Chanteurs” (The Small Singers). (It goes without saying that fans reported this; it was not announced on the official site, although it may have been a last minute decision.)

This article does not show Lara; however, a picture of Lara at the event was posted on multifans (from Paris Match) and can be found at:

As can be seen in this photo, Lara’s outfit was not exactly what one would expect when hosting children and it provoked some comments (appreciative as well) on both the official and Hezia’s site.
“Scoop people” caught up with Lara Fabian, a spectator at the “Grand Corps Malade” concert in the Olympia, and it was noticed that she was crying. When asked about it, she said that she was emotional and identified with the proceedings (the group performs music called "The Slam", a cousin of rap). The reporter wondered whether she had gotten even more sensitive since becoming a mother. Actually, in her interview in Brussels, when asked how motherhood had changed her, she said that it had made her more practical and more focused on someone other than herself – things had to be done for ‘Lou’ and had to be done on time.

As noted by Stephanie25 on Laradom and Laetitia on the official site, according to an announcement on a TV blog, Lara will be part of a new show hosted by Flavie Flament, called ‘Duos d’un Soir’. In it, a fan will be able to sing with his/her idol. It will be shown on TF1 and other guests are other guests are to include Serge Lama et Florent Pagny, Christophe Willem. Fans suggested that people should wait for the official site to confirm this (or the show to take place, whichever comes first) before believing it. If it does occur, the widely expressed opinion is that the song is likely be ‘Tu es mon autre’.

It is now possible to resubscribe to the fan club on the official site, although it could be made more clear. When one goes to the fan club category for a subscription, it appears as if one is subscribing for the first time – all the information is requested again. However, after payment, one receives the same ‘membership number’ that one had previously – indicating they have carried over the records.
