Despite last week’s announcement that the TV reportage of Lara’s private concert on Oct. 16th would be shown sometime in February or March, it suddenly appeared this past week, unbeknownst to her fans and even apparently to her own website. Replays of the ‘private access’ feature are available on French M6 replay – but that site is blocked to people outside the country. Fortunately, gbmoi put a link to the video on the official site, from where it is accessible. Go to
forum.lara-fabian.fr/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=8271&sid=f852d1835edc816573835576959b05a3&start=60
and it is about half-way down the page (putting the link given directly on this page doesn't seem to work, probably because it is not all visible...)
Nothing is shown or heard from the new album, and it basically focuses on her ‘return’. But it was very good to see Lara, and it was touching to realize how nervous she was before walking through the curtain, presumably uncertain as to what the fan’s reaction would be. [We now know the reaction was positive at the show itself but much more mixed later on.] Some of her fans also enjoyed seeing themselves on TV!
The lack of warning from the official site set off another round of recriminations on the official forum. The evidence suggests that Lara herself probably didn’t know when it would be broadcast, but the atmosphere is now so charged that any indication of disrespect for the fans is amplified. Lara will have to work to change that.
Lara’s interview in “TV grand chaines” appeared this week; it can be seen at:

There was nothing additional to what was reported last week, concerning her attempt to put together a TV show honoring the rights of women to coincide with her album’s release next March 8th.
Lara’s week also contained some mixed interactions with the publication “Voici”. The November 10th issue included a brief article on Lara, and featured her recipe for “pasta with tuna”. It can be seen at:

[The story also contained some false information concerning the release of an original single December 1st (part of the false information that had been promulgated a few months ago). ]
However, Voici also had published the picture of Lara and Lou several weeks ago, which apparently was not cleared with Lara ahead of time. She wrote an angry letter to them, criticizing them for not having blurred the baby’s face, and demanded 60,000 Euros in compensation! They responded by saying that because of the cap the baby was wearing, and the huge pacifier in the baby’s mouth, not much of it could be seen anyway. Looking at the photo one would have to say that Lara was right, the baby’s face is clearly visible – but, it still defies comprehension as to why she is so protective of Lou in this way, when other celebrities take a much different approach. [Cynics joked that Lara needs the money to finish redoing the new album!]
Concerning the new album, “Platine” in announcing the delay in the album’s release published a listing of the reprises which are to appear. According to the magazine, they are:
- Gottingen
- L'Hymne à l'Amour
- Mamy Blue
- Message Personnel
- J'ai Douze Ans (Diane Dufresne)
- Il Venait D'Avoir 18 Ans
- Babacar
- Ca Casse
- L'Amour Existe Encore (Celine Dion)
- Nuit Magique
- Soleil Soleil (Nana Mouskouri)
- Amoureuse
- Femme
There apparently will be two previously unreleased tracks as well. “Platine” is pretty reliable, but even if this is correct, things may change by the actual release date.
As to what is coming up in the near future, it was announced (source: fanclubdemariofrangoulisfrancais) that a new album, 'Mario & Friends, will be released on November 21st. It is “A 'Live' performance recorded from a series of concerts at the 1st Athens International Music Festival. Performing with Mario Frangoulis are Friends : Lucio Dalla, Justin Hayward, Lara Fabian, Madeleine Peyroux, Alessandro Safina, Steve Balsamo, Manokis Lidakis and George Perris..."
Apparently video cameras were also recording the events, suggesting there may be a DVD planned as well. Lara sang a number of songs at the concerts last May that could be candidates to be included, but we’ll see this week what and how many will actually be used. [My personal vote would go to “All Alone Am I”.]
Finally, valou712 posted ‘finds’ of some photos of Lara: links for them are available a good way down the the page on Hezia’s site at:
