The “Acoustic” show on TV5 this past week was, as expected, a repeat of the program originally aired in 1/07. If you remember, Lara was still hawking “URN” at the time, and sang five songs (‘Aime’, ‘La Lettre’, ‘Tout’, ‘Immortelle’ and ‘Les Homericains’). Later ‘Comme ils dissent’, also recorded for that show but not used, was included in another “Acoustic” program.
Nicole Manual on Laradom has noted that Lara sang “I Will Always Love You” during the 2006 “Night of the Proms”, and an mp3 version of it is available on eMule. If anyone regularly uses that program, perhaps they could make it available. (Apparently eMule only works on Windows machines.)
On the official forum, in the ‘between fans’ section, Neera has put some very artistic black and white photos of Lara. It’s at:

There was a meeting of Lara’s fans in Brussels yesterday, with only some 12 people attending. Lara has promised that in the coming year she will meet with fans both in Belgium and France, which would promise to attract a bigger crowd – we’ll see if that really happens.
In somewhat the same vein, the number of web sites supporting Lara continues to decrease. laraetmoi, long a standard for Lara videos from TV shows, appears to have closed (or at least it is no longer responsive). And Benjaminbelgium noted on the official site that the Greek group who organized a ‘Facebook’ page for Lara has apparently abandoned it. It seemed not to have survived past Lara’s appearance in Greece in May. However, the Russian site:
larafabian-rus.narod.ru/
is apparently closed only for reconstruction, and reportedly will reopen at the end of the summer. Again, we’ll see.
When Lara goes to new countries, she generates enthusiasm – but when she doesn’t come back for a year or more, it’s hard to sustain it. And with Lara largely absent from the scene everywhere for much of the last year, a decrease in fan base is to be expected. My guess is that she must find this somewhat unnerving. The hope is that it will be reversed when her new album is released, and she becomes more active publicly.
