"Visualise"
Visualise winning It’s all in the mind If your head is spinning Find a way To make it fly
I can really feel your pain It eats into my soul
We can make this together You must never surrender This is now or never Close your eyes And visualise
Visualise swimming In the oceans In the sky Go back to the beginning To the place where you can fly
Whole lives can get crystallized In moments like this
We can make this together You must never surrender This is now or never Close your eyes And visualise
ooooh
I visualise happiness A thousand words I can’t express I visualise healthiness A part of me won't be suppressed I visualise laughing hard and open up a deck of cards Singing til the day is through If I make a call I know it’s you
We can make this together You must never surrender This is now or never Close your eyes And visualise
And visualise

I really love this song. I find there's often a times when you just want to get away from the world and the circumstances around you and this song has that escaping theme.

For me, the song is not at all about escaping, but rather "putting first things first." It starts in your mind, and before you can succeed at something you must first visualize it in your mind. The difference between a lot of the positive thinkers out there and practical minded people is that so many positive thinkers believe that all you have to do is think properly and everything will fall into place. A practical person knows that thinking it in your mind is only the first step. You must put "feet on your faith" so to speak, or at least apply a plan to the thing you are visualizing in your mind. To me, this is a great song, and it's as though she is encouraging one to close his/her eyes and capture that dream that is there in the heart. Snap a picture of it in your mind, and then together let's go for it! Let's do what we must to make it real! Again, I am probably way off here! Crazy me!

Now that you mention it, I can totally see what you are talking about. I'm not sure if it's about escaping anymore. It definitely has that let's do it together feeling in the chorus. The second verse feels to me like it's about escaping:
"Visualise swimming In the oceans In the sky Go back to the beginning To the place where you can fly"
And then she goes into the chorus as if saying okay now that you've gone seen there is beauty let's get it together and work out something positive out of this. I guess it's that verse that makes Me think there's an escaping aspect to the song, but the rest really supports what you said about thinking it's positive thinking and than the "let's go and achieve it" theme.

Well, in no way am I claiming to know anything about anything, so I guess I am just offering a possibility as to what the song might mean. Regardless, however the song is to be interpreted, it is impossible to not be encouraged and inspired by the lyrics. Delta is truly lifting us up to a higher place, and prompting us to seek "better days." The connection is felt and understood to be more than just a fan cheering her favorite team on, but rather of someone who wants to hold hands for the climb and give balance to the other through the rocky times ahead. "We can make this together......." is about relationship! As far as that second verse, you may well be correct. Could be, too, that she is trying to help the person find what is now difficult to find because of all the pain. In other words, she may be trying to encourage the person to look inside to find what his/her dreams are; to visualize them. That way, we will take a picture of that dream, and use it as a guide, or a map, and then set out together to make it a reality. But the person who she is encouraging to do this may have suffered for so long and has lived in the darkness for such an extended period of time that he/she may not know how to find his/her dreams. Life has a way of making you feel as if you shouldn't even bother with your dreams, and so many times you wind up putting them on the shelf. So, Delta may be just saying, in essence, "Come on, don't give up. Keep looking. It's in there. That dream....what is it? Remember when......... life was as freeing as swimming in the big blue ocean, and you felt as if you could fly! Let that memory help you to find that dream that has long been neglected." May be a stretch, I know. But again, I am only offering an idea.

That could be true. I think you got a point there. It's a beautiful encouraging song that I would play for anyone who needed encouragement. I think it is about encouragement to get somewhere and make what you visualise real. There might be a little escaping part to get the person on positive thoughts so they can visualise something that will make them happy and make it real.

Okay! A little escape sounds reasonable to me! I'll accept that as part of the interpretation of the song.

You've convinced me it's not all about escaping but I just can't picture that verse having nothing about escaping. Thank you for enlightening about that. It made the song more beautiful for me.

The important thing about it is that it has touched you in a certain way. I in no way want to take away from you what the song stirs up in you. That is the beautiful thing about music. I was only sharing my thoughts on what I think are some great lyrics. But I agree that a little get away from it all is necessary in life, and very well may be what Delta was encouraging in the song. If that is what it does for you, then may it be a sweet escape indeed!

That is so true. I think some songs also have the power to mean different things at different times depending on what is going on in your life. It also depends on what you have gone through on what different songs mean to each individual person.

I agree, but let's not forget that for all of this to be true it has to be a well written song.
