Today I called all over town to see if anyone had any Tina Arena cds in stock. I had just purchased one of her cds yesterday and absolutely loved it! The title of that cd was "In Deep", and I mention my thoughts about it in another post ( Off Topic- Musicians You Think Others Should Check Out ) Well, I was fortunate enough to find another of her cds, and one that came highly recommended! "Don't Ask" is the title, and in my opinion a better album than the "In Deep" cd in which got me "hooked" on Tina in the first place! I think that the reason for this album being better (at least in my opinion) is that there aren't as many people with their hands on the production of it. "In Deep" is almost broken up into thirds; one third produced by one person, another third by someone else, and another third by yet another person. Still, all of the songs on the album are good, and I highly recommend to anyone. But "Don't Ask" is an exceptional album in that it is not only well produced, but also seems to have a better group of musicians backing her up. It also seems that the same musicians play throughout the entire album. While I love the album as a whole, and all of the songs on it, I have to mention two standout songs; "Wasn't It Good" and "Show Me Heaven". These two songs are just plain, flat out, damn good songs that measure up to anyone's favorite songs by their favorite artists! Coming in a close second to them are, "Heaven Help My Heart" and "Greatest Gift". But I can't fail to mention that songs like, "Chains", "Sorrento Moon (I Remember)", "Message", "Love Is The Answer", "That's The Way A Woman Feels", "Be A Man", and "Standing Up" all make this a great listening experience! Oh, did I just include all of the songs on the album? Well, there's a reason for that. It's that good of an album. And I believe Tina is that good of an artist. Check it out, and see if you don't come to the same appreciation of her music that I have.
