Today, it's the Fourth Of July, and I encounter two things that really have me fired up (and it's only noon)! First, I go to get in my car to go to a parade, and my next door neighbor wishes me a "Happy Independence Day". That's cool, but then she goes on to tell me that today she is going to babysit a little Vietnamese girl. She tells me that the father is from North Vietnam and the mother from South Vietnam. It's a great story. But then she goes on to say that she wondered if any of her relatives who fought in the Vietnam War killed any of their relatives! Huh?? It was just her way of throwing another jab at me for supporting Bush and this current war that we are in. Once again, her true colors came out, which is to hate America and support the enemy. My question for her was, "And how is it that you are babysitting for them here in these United States?" She said, "well, of course, they had to come here to have any chance at all of a family." Precisely! They didn't just wash up on our shores, missing Canada, Mexico, or even South America. They came here, to the United States Of America, on purpose! Why? Because that Lady in the River still stands for something that everybody in the entire world wants....Liberty! Moving on, I go to the parade. It's great. Children getting candy thrown to them from all the floats. Patriotic colors, songs, the whole bit. But then this man and woman come walking along the side of the parade wearing signs that read "Send Bushco. To Gitmo", and "Bush bin Lyin" .......I can't believe it! I was fuming! There were children around, so I was very careful about how I conducted myself, but when they made their way back down again I saw them coming. When they got to me I purposely stepped out in front of them so that they had to stop. Very politely, I said "thumbs down on what you are doing, and I'm here to tell you that you are wrong." Without a word they scooted around me and continued on. What I wanted to say would have been inappropriate, with lots of children around, and this is the "f*ck off" board, so I felt like coming here to say what I really thought....it's really very simple. It goes like this; "F*ck off!!!" Okay, I said it, and I feel no better, but at least I said it. Yesterday at breakfast with friends, I was given a book by Ann Coulter called "Treason". So far, it's a remarkable book by an incredibly smart woman. I highly recommend it to everyone reading this. Anyway, I am going to celebrate the rest of this great day in United States history by allowing her book to keep me company.....and good company it is! America, you are beautiful! Regardless of what liberals say!
