First of all, much thanks to Paula for sending me a dvd full of videos of Zucchero. Paula knows that I absolutely love Zucchero's music. Truth be told, he is probably my second favorite male artist after Buce Springsteen. This guy is one cool cat!
The videos are varied musically and stylistically. They also span quite a few years it appears to me, because Zucchero goes through many different looks (and weight changes, LOL.) But he is always consistantly awesome, and I absolutely love every song on the collection! I think there are thirty songs on the thing, they are all great songs! He performs with a whole bunch of artists, including Tina Arena, Queen, Andrea Bocelli, Sting, Miles Davis, Eric Clapton....the list goes on! Lara Fabian too!
It appears to me from the videos that he is very well respected by all the artists that he performs with. Not only that, but it seems to me that he deeply appreciates and respects the artists he is performing with. I like that in a person.
Some of the performances really lifted me up! Tina Arena says after singing with him on a song that it made her feel as if she was flying. Well, you get that same feeling listening to him sing on many of these songs!
One highlight for me was when Luciano Pavarotti and Bono team up to sing one of Zucchero's songs "Misererre." Now, I say that it was one highlight for me, because I think there are thirty songs on this thing, and truthfully all thirty are a highlight for me!
I think I'll go watch it again! Gimme some sugar!!!
