Hold On Lyrics by Kansas
(Kerry Livgren) Look in the mirror and tell me Just what you see What have the years of your life Taught you to be Innocence dyin' in so many ways Things that you dream of are lost Lost in the haze
(Chorus) Hold on, Baby Hold on 'Cause it's closer than you think And you're standing on the brink Hold on, Baby Hold on 'Cause there's something on the way Your tomorrow's not the same as today
Don't you recall what you felt When you weren't alone Someone who stood by your side A face you have known Where do you run when it's too much to bear Who do you turn to in need When nobody's there
(Chorus)
Outside your door He is waiting Waiting for you Sooner or later you know He's got to get through No hesitation and no holding back Let it all go and you'll know You're on the right track
(Chorus)

Miracles Out Of Nowhere Lyrics by Kansas
On a crystal morning I can see the dewdrops falling Down from a gleaming heaven, I can hear the voices call When you comin' home now, son, the World is not for you Tell me what's you point of view Hey there Mister Madman, wat'cha know that I don't know Tell me some crazy stories, let me know who runs this show Glassy-eyed and laughing, he turns and walks away Tell me what made you that way
Here I am just waiting for a sign Asking questions, learning all the time It's always here, it's always there It's just love, and miracles out of nowhere
Tell me now dear Mother, what's it like to be so old Children grown and leavin', seems the world is growin' cold And though your body's ailin' you, your mind is just like new Tell me where you're goin' to
It's so simple right before your eyes If you'll look through this disguise It's always here, it's always there It's just love and miracles out of nowhere
I sang this song a hundred, maybe a thousand years ago No one ever listens, I just play and then I go Off into the sunset like the western heroes do Tell me what you're gonna do
Here I am, I'm sure to see a sign All my life I knew that it was mine It's always here, it's always there It's just love and miracles out of nowhere

On The Other Side Lyrics by Kansas
(Kerry Livgren) The empty page before me now, the pen is in my hand The words don't come so easy but I'm trying I'm searching for a melody or some forgotten line They can slip away from us so quickly Don't be unkind I'm not complaining I only feel it needs explaining
(Chorus) Though I've said it all before I'll say it once again (one more time) Everyone needs something to believe in
So turn around, turn around it's on the other side Feel the sound, feel the sound, it's coming from deep inside It will fill you with emotion, if you let it be your guide so Turn around; turn around, it's on the other side
I'm waiting for the day to end another to begin Somehow I've forgotten what it stood for I look into your face and see the searching in your eyes I will he your servant till the end The music plays, and for a moment I feel That all there days an so fulfilling
(Chorus)
Desperation shows its ugly face in many ways No one can escape the times we live in The answers are so simple and we all know where to look But it's easier to just avoid the question And if I seem too inconclusive It's just because it's so elusive
(Chorus)

Opus Insert Lyrics by Kansas
There's a reason for all that rhymes, it's the fact and the way of the times It's moving emotion, it's high and it's low, no matter where you go There is something for all who look, there's a story in every book All of the pages, between all the lines, so much that you can find
But there's too many empty lives my friend And we just can't let them waste away For this life is a precious thing my friend And we just can't wait another day
There's a message in every word, and it's more than the word you heard It's moving emotion, it comes like a sea, washing all over me
For there's nothing that we can't do my friend, cause the spirit is with us all And it's here and it's now, it's up and it's down You can feel it surrounding us all.
After all we're all the same, only difference is a name and where we are In this crazy mixed up deal, there's so much that you can feel Near and far it's where you are
And there's times when I can't contain all the feelings of love I'll gain It's there for the asking, it's for all of you if you would take it too
But there's too many empty lives my friend And we just can't let them waste away For this life is a precious thing my friend And we just can't wait another day

The Wall Lyrics by Kansas
I'm woven in a fantasy, I can't believe the things I see The path that I have chosen now has led me to a wall And with each passing day I feel a little more like something dear was lost It rises now before me, a dark and silent barrier between, All I am, and all that I would ever want be It's just a travesty, towering, marking off the boundaries my spirit would erase
To pass beyond is what I seek, I fear that I may be too weak And those are few who've seen it through to glimpse the other side, The promised land is waiting like a maiden that is soon to be a bride The moment is a masterpiece, the weight of indecision's in the air It's standing there, the symbol and the sum of all that's me It's just a travesty, towering, blocking out the light and blinding me I want to see
Gold and diamonds cast a spell, it's not for me I know it well The treasures that I seek are waiting on the other side There's more that I can measure in the treasure of the love that I can find And though it's always been with me, I must tear down the Wall and let it be All I am, and all that I was ever meant to be, in harmony Shining true and smiling back at all who wait to cross There is no loss

Questions Of My Childhood Lyrics by Kansas
When the sun is in the mid sky, he wears a golden crown And he soaks the world with sunshine as he makes another round It's been a faster year than yesterday, all the things that I had planned And when I think I might be gaining I'm in the sunshine once again Well I walk the road of life among the strong, among the weak And I ask them for the shortcut to the answers that I seek But it seems nobody understands what is and what will be Oh, the questions of my childhood weave a web of mystery
Can you get me through these changes? Well I sure don't know about life, but one thing for sure All I need is you babe, we got to get the golden key to unlock the door
I don't need to face a world of disillusion I've come to one conclusion that I know you know is true In the game of silent searching the cost of love is rising And I'm just now realizing I'd be better of with you
It's a game that I've been living, now I need to know what's real Can you help me find the answers, can you tell the way I feel? Will you stay with me forever, just stay with me tonight And we can talk about tomorrow if it all works

I realize I just bombarded you with a lot of Kansas! I spent about two years only listening to them, so they are a very big part of my education! In "No Surrender" by Bruce Springsteen, he writes, "well, we busted out of class, had to get away from those fools.....we learned more from a three minute record, baby, than we ever did in school." (Well, if music be the food of life, then play on! - Shakespear) I learned a lot from Kansas!

From the lyrics I understand why you spend so much time listening to Kansas. They write incredible lyrics. I spent about 3 months after I got Mistaken Identity just listening to Delta and I did the same thing when I got A Wonderful LIfe, I spent about half a year only listening to Lara.

Well, you have to make a choice. Which would you prefer, Kansas or Rich Mullins? And keep in mind that I need time, because I am low on blank cds again after making 29 Bruce Springsteens!

Okay, and since he has half the amount of music, I should be able to send along with the Bruce Springsteen covers (soon.)

Pearl Jam "Elderly Woman Behind The Counter In A Small Town"
i seem to recognize your face haunting, familiar, yet i can't seem to place it cannot find the candle of thought to light your name lifetimes are catching up with me all these changes taking place, i wish i'd seen the place but no one's ever taken me hearts and thoughts they fade, fade away... hearts and thoughts they fade, fade away... i swear i recognize your breath memories like fingerprints are slowly raising me, you wouldn't recall, for i'm not my former it's hard when, you're stuck upon the shelf i changed by not changing at all, small town predicts my fate perhaps that's what no one wants to see i just want to scream...hello... my god its been so long, never dreamed you'd return but now here you are, and here i am hearts and thoughts they fade...away... hearts and thoughts they fade...away... hearts and thoughts they fade, fade away... hearts and thoughts they fade...
