For what has been the prime subject the past few weeks, we finally reached the date of the actual release 20 years ago of Lara’s album ‘Nue’, August 28th. Outside of the re-release of the CD and the associated new double vinyl album, Lara had no specific comment on that day about it. Some fan sites did, of course, with various ones putting links to the different songs, utilizing available youtube performances (sometimes even official videos). We’ll provide a complete ‘album’ here, making use of some of what these other sites chose, and some of our own choosing.
The ‘Lara Fabian est ton autre’ site which has been running info about the album for the last couple of weeks, provided a link for the album’s promo, at

Also, the one they chose for “Bambina” is

while for “S’en aller” it is

for ‘’Aimer Deja”, www.youtube.com/watch?v=hRmNWUr6OZs
and of course for their namesake, “Tu es mon autre”,

The “Lara Fabian Lockdown Sessions” FB site wished the album a happy birthday, and linked to, among others,
“Immortelle”, at www.youtube.com/watch?v=99_BOsxIt6w,
“Rio” at www.youtube.com/watch?v=sHH0tdv6JRc,
“Tango” at www.youtube.com/watch?v=9p1UrKzYti0,
“Je suis mon Coeur” at www.youtube.com/watch?v=JKgTLskigls
“Silence” at www.youtube.com/watch?v=jCBlhsZZZCg
“J’y crois encore at www.youtube.com/watch?v=nyj4_ySzj0w
The Lara Fabian America site picked out a version of “Parce que tu pars” with French and English subtitles, at
www.youtube.com/watch?v=gEM4VYYqZvo
[This was from the ‘Lara Fabian Live’ DVD of the Nue tour…as you may remember at the time, people pointed out that the vocals on this video are exactly the same as on the recorded song…leaving people to conclude that this song may have been too difficult for Lara to actually sing live, given the vocal problems she was having at the time…].
To carry the ‘English’ aspect a bit further: As a special treat for the 'Nue' anniversary, the Lara Fabian Multimedia site provided a youtube video of Lara singing ‘Parce que tu pars’ in English, with the title “Don’t Go Away”. It can be found at
www.youtube.com/watch?v=ELTgaTV6tvo
[Thanks to the Lara Fabian America site for the link].
For “Imagine”, there is one appropriate choice: Lara did a duet of it with Sophia Essaidi on Valentine’s Day in 2012, in the special broadcast over the airwaves when she couldn’t make a scheduled stop in Lebanon due to threats. It can be found at
www.youtube.com/watch?v=zq0zpVgX_C0
As anticipated, “Le roi est une femme” is unavailable as a video of a live performance; on youtube it appears various times with just the recorded music, e.g.,
www.youtube.com/watch?v=CidgepFi1TI
This is one of the album songs (along with “Je suis mon Coeur”) that Lara did not write.
And, of course, there’s the unlisted ‘piano nocturne’ at the record's end, performed by Matt Herskowitz; as in the case of ‘Le roi est une femme”, just the music is available, at
www.youtube.com/watch?v=zq0zpVgX_C0
Other sites, like “Lara Fabian Coeur de lumière” and “Les Papillons Blancs" also specifically wished the album a ‘happy birthday’. The latter group left the following comment, which sums up the general feeling about the album:

The 20 years of the album " Nue " 🦋
"Despite all the pain, what we have of soul and what we have of strength remains forever... " Lara Fabian
20 years ago to the day, @larafabianofficial presented us with this sublime album... her talent and sincerity gave birth to many hits that still resonate in our lives....
At that time, Lara did not know the impact that these titles will have and how they will be received by the media but also, and especially, by this public that already loves her for 10 years ...
The doubts were quickly erased when she saw that we were thousands to welcome the opus with an enthusiasm equal to her talent... 🎶
We obviously think of her on this special day, but also of all those talents of the shadow who participated in the birth of this opus so important in her career, in our history...
The musical imprint that it will leave in the French music ... will live as immortal ... 🎶🥰
Happy 20th anniversary ... we still believe in it, stronger... Lov 🦋❣️”

A nice summary of the way may people feel about it. Happy Birthday, “Nue”, and congratulations once more to Lara and Rick.
The first Star Academie auditions will be held in Montreal from September 10 to 12. The production team will then travel to Sherbrooke (September 17th), Gatineau (19th), Quebec (23rd to 25th) and Saguenay (26th and 27th) to meet with the candidates. It’s not clear that Lara will be attending them, but it’s certainly possible. In that regard, there is this article (https://www.lapresse.ca/arts/television/2021-08-30/star-academie/les-aspirants-participants-devront-etre-adequatement-vaccines.php):

Star Academy: Aspiring participants should be adequately vaccinated
(Montreal) Aspiring participants in the Star Académie program will need to be adequately vaccinated to be able to achieve their dream.
TVA Quebecor Content and Productions Déferlantes announced today that singers wishing to appear at the auditions will have to present proof of vaccination before they can appear before the judges.
The VaxiCode application will be used to check vaccination status.

It’s nice to know that Lara will have that degree of added protection…

Lara Fabian The Netherlands site posts groups of pictures from various sources, this set is from one of Lara’s TV programs in Brazil in 2001

You may remember that Lara ‘tried’ to go to Brazil with the release of “Camouflage”, but couldn’t sell enough tickets to justify bringing her musicians all that way. It seems after that failure, there was a decrease in interest by the Lara Fabian Brazil website, and it seems unlikely Lara will go back in the foreseeable future (or maybe ever ). However, for that one period of time in 2001, when she was on numerous shows and was a big hit, a career in that country seemed possible. And of course, linking it up once more to “Nue”, the song “Rio” came from her experience there.
And once again, ‘Lara The Ring Fabian’ produced English subtitles for another video of Lara, this time her inviting the Star Academy's contestants at her house for lunch in 2021:

A forerunner of Lara’s upcoming book with recipes.
This being the last day of August, next week in France would mark ‘La rentrée’, a general return to work and school after the summer holidays. The concept is not as well developed in Quebec, but in any case, it’s not clear the Lara will be following that routine, given her vocal health issues, but, as noted above, there will be Star Academie auditions beginning. Hopefully Lara will remain safe, and all of you as well.
